    DRPG recommendations (EO-style)?

    Posted: 06 Feb 2020 08:21 AM PST

I'm looking for a good Etrian Odyssey/Labyrinth of Touhou-style game for iOS, something with anime-style graphics (or really anything besides Silversword-style generic fantasy), automapping, and turn-based combat, but I must be looking in the wrong place because aside from Enteric Guys (which seems unfinished and effectively unplayable due to its poor translation) I haven't been able to find anything yet. What are some good recommendations?

Anything like the Gamevice controller for iPad Pro 10" ?

    Posted: 06 Feb 2020 11:20 AM PST

Trying to find something like a Gamevice controller. I really want to hold the iPad in my hands while playing. Anything with MFI bluetooth or even wired support would be good. I'd even be up for a franken-solution, if anyone out there is making something on their own.

Discussion/Opinion: iOS Developers Abandoned Their First Audience

    Posted: 05 Feb 2020 05:38 PM PST

TLDR: I believe one of the major problems with the iOS gaming industry is that the developers largely abandoned their first iOS audience, their largest fan base, who are now all adults predominantly in their 20s and 30s, some 40s+. We were abandoned as we grew older.

Full: Over the past 4-8 years many developers have struggled in the iOS market, and I think that has less to do with F2P and more to do with the idea that they abandoned their audience. They didn't grow with us. We who grew up with the the iPod Touch (Gen 1) and iPhone (Gen 1) are all adults now. We were the first fan base for iOS developers and are personally responsible for their success. But as we grew older, they didn't grow with us. They are constantly resetting their progress by targeting only young age groups rather than growing with their base. Imagine how hard it would be for a musician or band to find success if their music never grew with their audience, and if the musicians were forced to create songs only for teens their whole lives. Creating music for teens may appeal to a musician while they are young, but as they grow older so does their interests and music. The same goes for app developers-- they need to grow with their audience to maintain interest and earn success. What we have in 2020 is an iOS market saturated with adadoned audiences that are waiting for their beloved developers to grow up. When they do, our wallets are ready.

    Zen, laid back games, please

    Posted: 05 Feb 2020 11:52 AM PST

I am pregnant and games help me relax. I want games that don't require reflexes, that I can just put down when the baby cries. Heart warming games and games you can play with one hand are a plus. I like puzzles, so I enjoyed the room, but I get bored with games that have only one kind of puzzle. I enjoy stardew valley, but I played a lot of it on my pc and switch.

Any games with weekly or daily scheduled clan type events that also has player housing?

    Posted: 05 Feb 2020 11:22 AM PST

We played LifeAfter for a while and enjoyed the clan / camp events (defend downtown vs zombie invasions on a certain night, on another night boss fights were scheduled, etc.).

We also played Ark which had bases your tribe could build, and LifeAfter had a house as well.

    Any other games that:

    • Have scheduled events/activities people must work together to do?
    • Offers some sort of house or farm or something else to make better over time?
    • Preferably your character also has to be worked on to be made stronger, etc. or craft gear

Edit to add: prefer 3d graphics, not 2d games.
