My two cents on the whole iPhone 12 vs iPhone X Upgrade. Long post incoming... Posted: 18 Oct 2020 11:34 AM PDT (Note: While this is my opinion and we are all entitled to our own, I'll try to be as objective as I can. And yes, I also have an iPhone X - 256GB. The tables are best viewed on a PC) Now let's begin: So the first mistake I see people doing is comparing the 12 series to the 11 series instead of to YOUR phone, which in this case is the iPhone X. This is how people reduce the 12 series to "incremental updates". This is not true. We'll look at the main parts of a phone and see what upgrades, if any have been added. I'll be comparing it to the 12 Pro specifically though some features also apply to the normal 12. 1.DISPLAY
2. BATTERY
3. CAMERA
4. PERFORMANCE/STORAGE
5. CONNECTIVITY
6. AUDIO
7. DESIGN
The elephants in the room - 120Hz, USB-C, Notch size
These aren't all the specs but the ones I thought are most significant to people. If there are mistakes anywhere, feel free to correct me. The purpose of this post is to put into perspective the upgrades WE get as iPhone X owners, it's not aimed to ostracize anyone who doesn't want to upgrade. It's meant to spur a well-informed and educated discussion and clarify this myth of "incremental upgrades" - this is relative to what one is comparing to. I know, it's a long post. I tried to segment it for easier reading(best viewed on a PC). If any of these features matter to you or you've been having an issue with your iPhone X with regard to any of these...we can see the kind of upgrades we're getting. What are your thoughts? I'd love to hear them. [link] [comments] | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

Posted: 18 Oct 2020 01:46 PM PDT About 2 days ago, my iphone X started giving me trouble. All of a sudden, the phone freezes when trying to watch/record videos, and I am unable to play anything through the speaker or the phone freezes. It also keeps on restarting itself every couple of minutes. I have tried updating ios, factory resetting the phone, and to no avail. Just wondering if anyone else has had this issue as I havent seen anyone online struggle with anything similar. Who's got the lowest battery %? Posted: 17 Oct 2020 06:36 PM PDT I've read lots of comments from everyone mentioning their battery percentage, but I don't think I've seen any lower than mine...it's currently at 64% and I've had the phone since launch day. I probably should have gotten the battery replaced a year ago like many of you have, but I ended up buying the battery case for it so it's still holding up quite well! I can get through a typical day fine, unless I'm using the camera for photos/video frequently. At that point the screen brightness will dim and switching between apps has some lag. I've thought about upgrading to the 12 Pro, but I think I can manage another year with the X and a battery swap. Anyone else around the 60% range or lower?
