For those of you who don't know, HomeGesture is a tweak that gives you the iPhone X style gestures and a ton of customization like enabling the homebar or choosing the status bar. MAKE SURE YOU ADD PACKIX AS IT NEEDS SPARKAPPLIST CURRENTLY https://repo.packix.com Patch notes: HomeGesture has been reworked to fully support iPX tweaks. I haven't had a chance to test them all, but DateUnderTimeX and BatterPercentX both work with HomeGesture. The Statusbar (finally) injects into apps. It doesn't play well with some apps, so I will be adding an option to block apps from getting the iPhone X status bar in the future. Now enables PIP (Picture-in-Picture) by default. Please let me know how that fairs you. Has the option for the large iPhone X keyboard (Yes I finally had a chance to add that) Option to add a gap to the bottom of the app where the homebar is (Again this doesn't play well with all apps, I will add a blacklist to this as well). Finally has some localizations. If you would like to help with the translations, feel free to open a Pull Request here!. Special thanks to Duraid Abdul!, as he is an amazing developer and did a ton of this work. You all should check out his fork of homegesture, Neptune!. [Tutorial] Set a new SSH root password Posted: 22 Feb 2019 10:40 PM PST By default, the root password is "alpine", making it easy for an SSH attack. To change the password, you will need NewTerm2 (free) or an SSH client like PuTTY. You will also need to make sure OpenSSH is installed before using an SSH client. ​ For SSH access via PuTTY Make sure your iDevice is connected to the same network as your computer (personal network preferred) In PuTTY, type in your device's IP Address (this is under Settings>Wi-Fi>the "i" next to your network name>IP Address. It should look like so: 192.168.x.y. Leave the other settings as-is. If PuTTY asks to trust the device, click "Yes". At the "Login as: " prompt, type "root" without quotes. The password is "alpine", again, without quotes. For root access via NewTerm2 After entering the app, type "su". The password is "alpine". Changing the root password (SSH/NewTerm2) Type "passwd". [discussion] unc0ver worked after about 5 tries Posted: 22 Feb 2019 02:19 PM PST EDIT: lots of people with issues not being able to jailbreak. try hard resetting your device. for iphones without a physical home button (iphone x-7?) press volume up, volume down, then hold the power button for 15 seconds. users with physical home buttons i believe its hold home and power button. If im wrong, do a quick google search on how to hard reset your device if unc0ver gives you an error, your device isn't special. just reboot and try again. ​ EDIT 2: wow im receiving alot of DMs. Ive written a very simple and easy to follow guide on how to jailbreak, but i cant post it here since it has links. if you are having any trouble, pm me and i will help you out. ​ EDIT 3: Their seems to be a bug with unc0ver that disables wifi. to fix this, keep rebooting and rejialbreaking until wifi is back. keep an eye on pwns twitter for a hotfix. Also pwn is adding support for A7-A8 devices ​ I had rootless jailbreak, and unc0ver successfully auto removed the rootless jailbreak and tweaks without having me lift a finger. My phone rebooted about 4 times and got stuck on respring once, but now I got Cydia going and everything is smooth sailing. [Tutorial] unc0ver v3.0.0 b29 Bootloop Fix Without Losing Data Posted: 22 Feb 2019 06:41 PM PST After trying everything, including purchasing a license for Reiboot (which two hours later still doesn't work), I think I've found a way to fix the bootloop I got after attempting the jailbreak. I saw a few other people had the same problem so I'm posting my fix here in case it helps. Background: iPhone 8+, deleted OTA beforehand, still got a bootloop. Would not boot into recovery, but would boot into DFU. However, when attempting to fix using iTunes, DFU would time out before "Extracting Software" was finished every time. Steps to fix: Reboot the device into DFU Boot into recovery FROM DFU - this takes a few tries to get working properly for some reason, but it should work. Open iTunes on your computer and plug your device in (if it is already plugged in, unplug the cord and replug it) If iTunes can't find your phone, try unplugging / replugging the cord in from the phone a few times. If that doesn't work, start over from step 1. This took me a few tries to get working, but that could just be because my laptop is old. Once iTunes recognizes it, press shift + update and select a firmware from your computer. I used firmware 12.1.1 b3 from here, but you can probably use the latest update instead if you'd like (EDIT: fixed link) Pray to the iPhone gods If it works, you'll be greeted with the recovery screen, and it will attempt data recovery. If for some reason it fails, try the steps again and do shift+restore instead. This will result in no data being recoverable.
