Scantify: Free OCR PDF Editor Posted: 09 Oct 2020 02:08 AM PDT I created an app using Google MLKit and Apples Vision to recognize text in images and convert it to editable PDF's, I didn't plan to create a pdf editor but I think it would be a nice to have a feature (ex: eating a book, arrange pages, add images, add pages, etc ...), the app its self does some other things also like detecting barcodes and QR, scanning cc cards, read text using Siri. All the app features are "on machine" processed, no server included, however, I might use the server-side in the future to get an accurate text for handwriting and for other languages. The app still in beta development I would love to hear ideas from you guys, I am planning to keep it simple, native, and free. Now it's possible to: • Choose a photo or a solid color as a widget background. • Put any text on it (it's possible to set vertical/horizontal alignment, font size and color). This way, it's now easy to create sticky notes on the home screen or put photos with your text on them. The widget label/app name is still nearly invisible (–•–). What else could be improved? Need a simple text / whiteboard app Posted: 08 Oct 2020 10:36 AM PDT Hi all, I can't believe I've not been able to find something, but I'm looking for a simple iPhone app that I can type text in ("Hello 👋") to hold up on my phone at the beginning of a video. Would like to be able to pinch and zoom so I can have 2-3 words take up the whole screen to be read when held up. Nothing fancy. I've tried a dozen apps, l including Google Docs and Apple Notes.
