Posted: 08 Sep 2020 07:28 PM PDT Just in advance, Im talking about an Iphone 6 So I had to replace my Wifi antenna since the old one completely died off. I followed the instructions on how to replace it and everything went smoothly until I turned it back on. The area around the power button started heating up pretty quickly so I turned it off again. I took it apart again, checked everything but couldnt notice anything unusual. The back camera still works and I havent tested it for long but after reaching around 30 degrees celcius pretty quickly and only at that top right spot, I felt like waiting it out even longer wont do a lot good anyways. The area is kind of around where the connectors for the Screen are and Ive opened the phone a couple of times already (battery issues) but this time it appearently went wrong. Side note, when fixing it up again, I noticed a very tiny rubber thingy that I couldnt find the place for. Its like a 2mm x 3mm piece of rubber with a small hole in it. I googled it but nobody seemed to have a clue where it comes from so I didnt want to cram it in there. Maybe I messed up there? [link] [comments] |
Mystery Reminder from... where? Posted: 08 Sep 2020 07:08 PM PDT Phone:
iPhone rang - once - at 1:57 PM today reporting an international call from country code +98 (Iran). Figured it was one of those 'get curious and call back at high cost' scams and ignored it, deleted the number/event from the call log. Apparently when the call came in a Reminder was created saying "Call back +98 1482 ...." (the number that had called earlier) for 7:57 AM tomorrow morning with a reminder set for 12 hours before (so it popped up about an hour ago). It's in Reminders on the iPhone, it's in Tasks on the Exchange account (they sync, so that's expected), it popped up a desktop reminder (Outlook/Windows 10) which is where it was first noticed. I've Googled and run into a wall; all the results I keep finding pertain to keeping reminders from popping up, not being created in the first place. My question is: What caused this reminder to be created and how do I keep it from happening again? [link] [comments] |
Any recommendations for retractable iphone cables? Posted: 08 Sep 2020 10:59 AM PDT I need one that allows me to pull out the charging lightning end and leave the usb end short, would also like for it to retract when I let go. So far everything online iv seen either doesnt explain whether it does what I need it to or states that the only way it retracts is if you pull both ends and if you try and pull one end it locks. Posted: 08 Sep 2020 03:48 PM PDT I just need some advice on whats going on. I have an iPhone XR and it's a little over a year old. It's never had battery problems before, but this has happened once before. This morning after i unplugged it at 100%, after 20 minutes it was down to 77%. I plugged it back in and it stayed at 77% for a long time before going up. I charged it up to 85% and after unplugging it it stayed at 85% for a really long time before dropping, and it eventually started draining kind of fast. I plugged it in at 67% where it (again) stayed for a long time. i updated it and after updating it went up to 96%. Now, it stayed at 96% for over 2 hours (granted i was barely using it during that time). It's at 94% now. I don't have any apps open, and i have background app refresh turned off for almost every app. It says my capacity is at 90% but its said that for awhile. Is something up? or was this just a random glitch. [link] [comments] |

Is there a way for a parent to track your location without your consent? Posted: 08 Sep 2020 12:26 PM PDT Like can my parent make it so location tracking MUST be on without me being able to disable it? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 08 Sep 2020 11:47 AM PDT Share sheet I am new to iPhones and iOS and have been trying (unsuccessfully) to find a way to add the reddit app or the Apollo app to the share sheet. Neither app are there by default and when I go to more or actions to try to add it I can't find an option there either. [link] [comments] |
Is it normal to have 100% maximum capacity after 7 months? Posted: 08 Sep 2020 11:44 AM PDT I'm not sure if there's something wrong with my phone but it's not showing any wear on the battery and my sister who got hers only a month before have 89% I tried shutting my phone off then back on and it didn't change anything. Strange photo found after waking up Posted: 08 Sep 2020 09:19 AM PDT I woke up at 12pm this morning to find this photo https://imgur.com/gallery/D0Gpn4V on my phone taken while I was asleep. This was on an iPhone 11 and it's fairly odd [link] [comments] |
How prevalent are the "text" hacks? Posted: 08 Sep 2020 07:56 AM PDT I read a few articles about how iPhones could be hacked simply via a text message. You don't even have to open them or dload an attachment. I have been somewhat paranoid lately that my phone had been hacked and some of the information gathered (iMessages). I thought our phones were fairly solid if you were careful but it seems this maybe out of the users control and could happen at anytime. Thoughts? [link] [comments] |
bootloop locking me out of 2fa Posted: 08 Sep 2020 06:08 AM PDT Apologies if this is a basic question, I'm a relatively inexperienced apple user. My iphone 6s (unlocked) finally went into a bootloop cycle-- sometimes if I let it drain all the way down I'll get a login screen but that's rare and too short-lived to help. It's the only apple device I own, and the only "trusted device" both iCloud and iTunes recognize. I neglected to turn off 2fa and iCloud is demanding that I send a verification code to log into iTunes, which afaik is the only way to access my data on the cloud and to possibly reset or repair the phone. Right now both are giving me the option of either sending a verification code or getting a text at my main phone number. If I get a cheap phone and have my provider switch my number over, can I then get a text code and get into the cloud? Or do I need to turn this over to apple support purgatory? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 08 Sep 2020 03:41 AM PDT Mhm I think my iPhone is hacked? Hey! So I've been noticing a couple weird things with my phone and computer and from what I research on could it be hacked ? My screen time for apps is all over the place for example gmail during this week 2s And I also see a bunch of random apps that I didn't download? Jamf? And apps for my camera keeps logging me out? Popping up with the sign as if I just downloaded the app "sign in with your email? Can nest have permission to access or use email" Is it possible I'm being watched? Followed? I read something about "remotely"? My phone is mirrored and can be remotely used on another device? A virus? Or...? Something along that line, been researching it and getting answers all over the place so wanted to see if anyone is familiar or have ideas. It's an iPhone . And a windows desktop. Thank you for input in advance! It's just stressful /: [link] [comments] |
Will a video app save video data not exported to camera in iCloud if have to restore phone. Posted: 08 Sep 2020 03:39 AM PDT Had some footage in Rolli Smart Gimbal 2 that was not yet exported to camera on my iPhone 11. Now thru really bad luck I'll have to restore my phone. I'm seeing a folder for that app on my iCloud but shows nothing. However viewing iCloud of other apps I know are fully backed up doesn't show everything anyway. Would you assume all this app data will come back? [link] [comments] |
