Posted: 09 Aug 2020 06:32 PM PDT I'm using an iPhone SE (2016) with 64gb and constantly at 400-500mb free, so I'm offloading videos to iCloud to release space. The phone gets pretty unstable under 1GB free I've noticed. iCloud doesn't seem to really give you any confirmation an upload is done or successfully completed. Is it safe to delete a video right away, or is their a way to have it delete video (from phone) once upload is complete? [link] [comments]  |
| Partially recovered photos after a factory reset. Posted: 09 Aug 2020 09:41 PM PDT Hey, a few months ago I had an issue with my apple id and I had to factory restore my phone. I lost all my stuff, a friend helped me out and recovered my notes and some photos, but not all of them bc i hadnt done a backup in months, the strange thing is that some of the recovered photos were taken months after my last backup in september, and my friend was able to recover some pics from december, january and february. | Posted: 09 Aug 2020 06:30 PM PDT I installed iCloud for Windows over a week ago so I can get a backup of all my photos and cancel my iCloud storage. I set all the photos in the iCloud folder to "Keep On My Device" so they would start downloading, however it's barely made any progress. The photos appear to be downloaded chronologically, so I took note of which photo it was on last night and then left my computer on overnight. I came back and it was still on the same photo. Wtf do I need to do to get this un-stuck or go faster? If I open one random photo to force it to download it, it also downloads the photo to the left and right of it chronologically. I don't get it. Is it downloading all 30k photos at once in tiny parts or one photo at a time? [link] [comments]  |

The messages from my old iPhone 6S+ are not showing up on the new phone. I turned on iMessage inside iCloud settings for both phones, and the 6S+ showed a progress bar inside the Messages app showing it was syncing to iCloud. it has been 10 hours, and nothing has shown up on the iPhone X. When I go to toggle off iMessage syncing for iCloud settings on the iPhone X, it says "messages are not done downloading" giving me the option to disable and download messages. What should I do? | Help with moving photos from Google Photos app to Camera Roll Posted: 09 Aug 2020 05:40 PM PDT Had some issues with an update and bricked my phone a while back, when I started up my replacement iPhone I noticed that I hadn't backed up any recent photos and so the backup that I loaded onto my replacement iPhone was super outdated. Fortunately, I had all of my photos backed up in Google Photos and so I didn't lose any of them however I'd love to load them back into my camera roll. Here's where I hit a roadblock. I've tried just downloading the photos (about 1,800 total) from the app onto my camera roll but when they download, they're all out of order and in front of my more recent photos. For example a photo from 2014 appears in front of a photo I took this morning. When I go to 'All Photos' on the app, everything is sorted correctly but the real issue is in the camera roll. Does anyone know how to sort these out? I read somewhere that I might have to wait a little bit for sorting to happen but I've waited a few hours and so far nothing has happened. I've tried this same process with single images to see if those would sort individually in the camera roll. Still no luck, they're always sorted as the most recent photo despite having an old timestamp. Any input would be much appreciated. | problems with iPhone 11 camera Posted: 09 Aug 2020 04:58 PM PDT I just got an iPhone 11 after my XR broke. The pictures seem grainy and I feel I have taken much better photos on my XR. And when using the ultra wide lens everything looks fish eyed? I don't know, maybe I'm expecting too much but the color of the photos seems off and not true, and even more noise in the photos. When I use the flash in a semi low light area(just indoors not necessarily dark)it makes everything around the area very dark almost black compared to the middle focus. | Battery percentage rising without being charged. Posted: 09 Aug 2020 04:58 PM PDT So i charged my phone at work upto 91% and i saw the battery percentage jumped to 92 %. I thought it might be just a bug so i force restarted the phone and now i see the battery is at 95%. I usually never charge the phone above 80% but today i just forgot to unplug. Guys if anyone knows about this behavior id really like to get educated on this. My phone is iphone 11 running ios 13.6 and my battery health is at 100% and ive had this phone for 8 months. Today all my photos(10.000) disappeared from my iPhone, I checked online if they were still on ICloud and thank goodness they were still there. I had little space in my device because of the photos and I though that I would have much more now that they were magically deleted. But no. There were still 20GB being used in my phone, but they were occupied by others->system. I don't know what to do. I would like to recover all the pictures and would like to know how can I recover my space, cause 20GB in system in an IPhone 32GB is terrible. Please help me. | Posted: 09 Aug 2020 04:07 PM PDT Currently I am using "iMazing" which is good, but it does not automatically import hidden photos as well, unless i'm mistaken. the native importer in windows will also grab the hidden pics as well and mix them in with the rest, which is what i want. pretty sure iMazing doesn't do that, and I need that as well. Each time I try this, I get error messages or the iphone drive simply disappears. I am using a PC. I use to be able to simply connect iphone to PC using a lightening cable. Find the folder using folder explorer. Then simply cut and paste files to external hard drive. Did something change? I'm pulling my hairout here and wasted entire day trying to figure this out. I tried multiple cables and multiple USB drives. A few pics will work and then I get a drive error. Even tried on two different PCs. [link] [comments]  |

I use this as my cloud based camera roll - Step 2 - Back Up 2: 1x per month, transfer photos to external hard drive (photos folder). - Step 3 - Delete all photos on iPhone as they are now in 1) Google Photos 2) External drive. - iPhone auto backs up to iCloud but does not include photos because the photos suck up a ton of space and they are already backed to the other two locations Macbook - 1x per month I do a time machine backups to external hard drive. - I dont think this includes photos because i dont hold any photos on my computer. Posted: 09 Aug 2020 02:38 PM PDT So many books embed font styles, colors, margins etc and I just want to make the absolute most of my little phone screen in all lighting conditions. On android for years I used Moon + reader Pro and it totally ruined me, has an option to ignore CSS and you can then do whatever you want in all the appearance settings. Use the full screen edge to edge, easy to read amber text on black background, no problem. Now that I'm back on iphone the closest I've found is Bluefire Reader, it's fairly powerful but it respects CSS so if I switch to dark mode I get black background with black text, brilliant. I've learned how to edit epub files to remove margins and font colors and that makes it work, but PITA. First thing I tried was ibooks but what that does to margins is a crime against humanity, so much screen wasted on my max size phone. [link] [comments]  |

I tried to use Siri Shortcuts, but the applications listed inside the create a new action option are very limited, to the point that the Siri Shortcuts app is pretty much worthless and I don't even know why it's on my phone. Today, I airdropped a _3dv.mp4 from my Macbook to my iPhone. The video (4 GB) did not save to my Photos app, but my iPhone storage increased by 4 GB and I suddenly found a new section in iPhone storage called "Other" that is precisely 4 GB. I have no idea how to retrieve/view the video or even delete it from my iPhone. I've looked through every possible Apple app, including Photos, Files, and TV, with no luck. Thanks in advance. Edit: Just restarted my iPhone, and the "Other" section has seem to cleared and my storage has decreased by the video's 4 GB size. | Posted: 09 Aug 2020 03:20 AM PDT So i use a Iphone 6s from 2016 which my sister used until 2019 when i got it. This phone has a home button that is sometimes working but most of the times not. And i encountered the black death screen. I researched and found solutions and they were not working mostly coz of my home buttom. But when i hold the power button it turns on my wallpaper with nothing on it. And i can turn it off with the power button. | Posted: 09 Aug 2020 11:33 AM PDT Hi Friends, So I dropped my phone and the power button no longer works, and every time I plug it in to my Mac the screen prompts the recovery mode setting. I updated the software and reset the phone through this update method and recovery mode is still persisting. I have not resorted to restoring the phone yet, because I am nervous I will lose all of my texts and voicemails. My main concern is that if this is caused by damage to the hardware, restoring the phone wont get me out of recovery mode and I would have lost all the data for nothing. Could there be a way to repair the hardware without data loss or is restoring the phone a typical procedure for repairs? Also, for whatever reason (and I get that it depends on carrier, something something, I don't have that option in iCloud) my messages are not being backed up to the cloud. But today I realized I have my old phone. The messages will be on the phone right? So I am going to plug the phone into a computer that has iTunes and try to recover. She has an XR with a smashed unresponsive screen. I got her a new Pro Max but her imessages and photos haven't gone onto the new phone when she signed onto icloud. I use android so I'm not fantastic with these things. So I looked into it as much as I could, I don't know if she needs to approve something on her old phone but if thats the case we can't. She doesn't use siri so cant use voice control. The face recognition isn't responding either. She only had the standard 5gb storage which has been full for a at least 12 months so nothing has been backing up. I upgraded her to the 50gb but without being able to unlock her old phone to see if it's going to backup the stuff and drop onto her new one i can't be sure. So my question is basically is there anything that can be done to access the things she has stuck on her unresponsive XR I.e. photos and messages, and get them into her ProMax?
