Posted: 10 Aug 2020 11:54 AM PDT I'm getting a new iPad and I have a quick question. On my old iPad, I have a game that doesn't seem to be in the App Store any longer (Xcom, the original game, not xcom2). I have the game on my current iPad. Is there a way to transfer it to the new one? Thank You in advance [link] [comments]

Posted: 10 Aug 2020 05:32 AM PDT I have recently tested out the iPad mini 5 and thought it would be really cool to be able to also take calls on it since it's not really huge, it fit into my pocket kind of well, and I think one could use it to replace a phone. So what do you guys think about doing this? Is there any reason you would(n't) get something like this? [link] [comments]
Looking for: alternative to Documents by Readdle for offline file sync Posted: 10 Aug 2020 07:12 AM PDT Hi all, I have recently got an iPad Pro (2018) for work and need some help finding an appropriate app to fit my needs. My work keeps all of our files on Google Drive, and then everyone has Backup and Sync to sync the files to their computer. I need to do this on the iPad because I'm often without Wifi when using it. Backup and Sync doesn't exist for iOS. The Google Drive app in theory has the function I need, except it requires you to go file-by-file to mark them as "available offline". Given the hundreds of files we have, and the fact that I don't always know ahead of time which ones I'll need, I need to be able to easily sync all of my project folders. I found Documents by Readdle and in theory it does exactly what I need. It links to Google Drive and you can select whole folders for offline sync. However, in practice it just... doesn't. Whenever I try to access a synced folder it's displayed as empty for a long while. It's like it's prioritizing access to the online files in the folder rather than going straight to the locally-stored files and then syncing them later. It also often crashes while trying to load the folder contents. Does anyone have alternative recommendations that actually sync properly? TL/DR: I need to sync whole Google Drive folders to my iPad Pro for offline use. Documents in theory has that functionality, but in practice seems broken. [link] [comments]
Looking for a more "immediate" sticky note app Posted: 10 Aug 2020 09:54 AM PDT Context: Earlier, I had my iPad Pro split-screened between Kindle and OneNote, where I was writing thoughts on what I was reading. I was afraid of action/to-do items I wanted to remember getting lost in the notes. Yes, there's "Just circle it really obnoxiously so you can find it later" or something, but I'd really rather have a separate repository of these things. I tried StickMeNotes, even pinned it to my dock for ease of access, but it kicks you all the way out of whatever you have on your screen in order to take you to the app. Then when you're done, it doesn't take you back to the apps you were using. It seems like a lot of sticky note apps function in this way...? Is there a sticky note kind of app that doesn't kick you out and is simply: [link] [comments]
Has anyone had much luck using a mouse/keyboard + iPad + Moonlight? Posted: 10 Aug 2020 06:37 AM PDT My current gaming set up just pumps heat in to the bedroom, causing my WAF (wife acceptance factor) to drop while I'm gaming. Plan is to put the tower in another room (ethernet) and use moonlight or steam link to control from the iPad. I already have my USB C "hub" with a USB mouse, USB keyboard, HDMI monitor, and ethernet jack. Everything seems to be working well as I can do normal remote (google remote desktop). Issue is, as soon as I boot up Overwatch from the iPad, whatever character I'm controlling is just looking up in the sky. I can spin in circles, but can't look down at all. Any FPS game I've tried is the same way. I've tried several different mice (Dell, Razer, Logitech) but the results are the same. I've tried updating to iOS 14 beta to see if that helps, and it doesn't. Same results. Just curious if anyone has had successful results with a mouse/keyboard + Moonlight? [link] [comments]
What’s it like to use MarginNote 3? Posted: 10 Aug 2020 08:43 AM PDT Hey guys! I'm currently a student that does a bit of research and about to jump into the healthcare industry and I'm trying to figure out how some of you use MarginNote 3. I primarily use LiquidText for the infinite canvas feel and pulling out pieces of different documents to outline things. Then I'll use notability for mostly written notes / journaling but I feel like maybe MarginNote might fit my case better since the experience can continue on a phone whenever I don't have my iPad on hand to study. I just get a bit overwhelmed at the huge feature list and don't know where to start with using it just yet so I'd like to hear what you guys do with it and any tips to start with it and slowly integrate it into my toolset. What do you store on your iPad? (Question from new iPad user :) ) Posted: 10 Aug 2020 05:24 AM PDT I was recently given an iPad Pro 512gb and whilst I'm absolutely in love with every feature I've tried, I just simply can't wrap my head around what people store on their tablets to choose to buy one with such a large storage, especially considering there is one on the market with 1TB+. I've downloaded a bunch of random apps + games and three netflix movies, and still have 480~ GB left. Meaning i could theoretically download 15x of what I currently have. Simply curious to what people store on their ipads :) [link] [comments]
Is screen burn in still a thing? Posted: 09 Aug 2020 06:55 PM PDT Hey everyone. I recently bought an iPad Pro 11 and have been using it as an additional monitor while at work via duet display. I leave my todo list and slack chat open permanently on the iPad and it's relatively static. Could using the iPad like this for 9 or 10 hrs per day cause problems for the screen? [link] [comments] |
