iPhone 4s battery replacement using another iPhone 4s Posted: 28 Jul 2020 07:20 PM PDT Is it a good idea to take the battery of another iPhone 4s to replace the battery in an iPhone 4s? My main 4s has a dead battery but important data. I was thinking of removing the battery from a second hand iPhone 4s I can buy near me. Good idea? I don't want the data lost tho. [link] [comments] |

Activating an unlocked iPhone 7 with iTunes? Posted: 28 Jul 2020 10:20 PM PDT Hello, I'm looking to buy an unlocked iPhone 7 to use as a test device as I learn iOS development. I plan to use it only on wifi. My question for you all is this: since the device is unlocked, can I successfully activate the device without a sim card or service? I read that there is a way to do this with iTunes if the phone is unlocked -- is this a legitimate method? It is referenced here under the heading "Activate your iPhone using iTunes": https://www.macworld.co.uk/how-to/iphone/activate-iphone-without-sim-3643294/ I'd appreciate any feedback; I would like to verify this before I go ahead with the purchase. Many thanks! :) [link] [comments] |

iPhone X storage acting very strange.. Posted: 28 Jul 2020 09:58 PM PDT iPhone X storage is acting really strange... all day the phone has been crashing apps after opening. And I have been trying to clear space to update the phone and I deleted 8gbs of photos on to find that my other storage section went from 20gb to 28gb. Can anyone shed light on why I've deleted so many apps and photos only to not gain any space? I had the first gen iPhone se before this and it was honestly a way smoother phone. [link] [comments] |
Any good, cheap adblocker for youtube and facebook apps on iphone? Posted: 28 Jul 2020 03:24 PM PDT Youtube and facebook are the only app where ads are a problem for me, so I don't want to spend too much just to filter out ads from just these two apps. What are the cheapest options out there? [link] [comments] |
Issue Copying Photos from iPhone 7+ to Windows 10 on Dell XPS laptop Posted: 28 Jul 2020 12:24 PM PDT My iPhone has no space left because of how many photos and videos I've accumulated over the years. I decided that it was time to transfer all the photos to my computer and delete the ones I know I won't need on my phone. However, every time I attempt to copy and paste the photos in the windows file/device manager, it eventually pops up with a message saying "a device attached to the system is not functioning". I've already tried different solutions:
Please help! This is making me want to pull my hair out. I did some research and it looks like tech sites recommend third party file managing software, but I really don't want to download a bunch of software to find out that they don't work, or worse, that they're loaded with viruses and will slow down my fairly new laptop. I would prefer a solution that does not cost me money. [link] [comments] |
How to backup videos and pictures in messenger? Posted: 28 Jul 2020 09:26 AM PDT Hello I have an iPhone 8 and I want to backup videos and pictures on iMessage. They are sentimental videos of our family dogs that have since passed. Is there a way to back them up to my computer so I can delete the conversation? It's taking up nearly 6 gigs of data. Thanks for any help, I googled dr fone but I'm not sure if this will help me and achieve what I want. Thanks for any help [link] [comments] |
iPhone won't let me delete old photos? Posted: 28 Jul 2020 09:01 AM PDT I went and selected all of my old photos (2011-2018) and then I look in the bottom right and the trash can is greyed out. I don't have iCloud for photos turned on. [link] [comments] |
Recover photos from dead iPhone (3 or 4?) Posted: 28 Jul 2020 10:32 AM PDT Mothers Iphone died and she did get a new one but there are photos (not all were backed up) on the old phone we would like to recover. A new battery was installed but it won't power on. Can the internal memory be accessed ? I would think Apple can do this for a minimal fee. Any suggestions would be appreciated. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 28 Jul 2020 06:32 AM PDT I have an iPhone 6S [Model: MKTG2LL/A]. It's been doing really strange things for the past several months and I've done pretty much everything I know to try to remedy these things. Keep in mind I'm no expert, but I do what I know, which is of course, all I can do. Before I ask anybody anything I always do my due diligence. I haven't dropped it, got any water on it, or incurred any other kind of damage recently... or really at all. Ever. So, the battery says it's healthy, but if I unplug the charger (any charger)... no matter if the battery says it's at 100% or 75% or whatever, the battery after just a few minutes, goes to zero. But when I plug it back in, it goes right up to 100% very fast. Sometimes it just shuts off and then I have to turn it back on. I researched the appropriate resources and changed everything to decrease the load on the battery. Nothing has worked. The other issue is even though I changed all the settings that I was supposed to change, the screen keeps going back to the dark screen instead of staying on the light. I've done multiple network resets. It doesn't display the appropriate grammar either that I have it set for; in other words, it constantly makes errors - mostly in verbal text messages or verbal anything. I hesitate to do a complete factory reset. It makes me nervous. But it may just be the last resort. I don't want to get a new phone. I love this phone… The size of it is perfect. I'm not going to pay over $700 for a new one, nor will I get a used one if I can figure out what's going on with this one. Does anybody have any ideas or answers to my predicament? Just replaced my iPhone 6's battery (not my primary device), BUT... Posted: 28 Jul 2020 09:01 AM PDT I reassembled the phone and I noticed that there are these weird color-shifting spots (usually appearing under greater pressure on the display panel on most devices) on the bottom of the screen, when i apply minor pressure (pressing the home button, interacting with homescreem dock etc.). I tried removing the display panel in order to possibly notice anything that shouldn't/should be there, but i found nothing. What could be the issue? Could the new battery be thicker than the original one? Is there a chance I damaged the panel while removing it with a suction tool? Im clueless... [link] [comments] |
How do I access my activity log? Posted: 28 Jul 2020 08:42 AM PDT I'm doing some research and would like to know what exactly I was doing on my iphone 11 in June for a few, specific dates. Was I using an app, talking on the phone, etc. Thank you! [link] [comments] |
Does texting internationally cost money with unlimited data? Posted: 28 Jul 2020 08:33 AM PDT I have an iPhone XS Max with AT&T. Now I read that with unlimited data. It doesn't cost money to text overseas. But I'm not 100% sure on that. [link] [comments] |

can a bad charging port replacement cause the u2 ic chip in an iphone7 plus to blow? Posted: 28 Jul 2020 06:05 AM PDT I replaced the charging port on my iphone 7 plus as the microphone wouldn't work and although the phone is detected by the computer, it always says ''this accessory may not be supported'' (with any charger) so i put the original port back in and have the exact same problem, could the replacement part have caused the ic chip to blow? Apps keep closing and safari is acting weird Posted: 28 Jul 2020 01:55 AM PDT So most of my apps are being buggy and closing right away, it even happened to Reddit the first time i tried to open it. Plus, safari keeps on refreshing and saying there was an error in loading it or whatever. My phone is fully updated, so it can't be that. Please help a poor idiot! [link] [comments] |
Water detector chip shows no water damage but my phone is still unresponsive. Posted: 28 Jul 2020 01:45 AM PDT I own an iPhone 6 which I had accidently dropped in water the other day. I had taken it out, wiped it dry, and my screen had showed me that the phone was dead which gave me some hope. I took off the case and put the phone in rice for about 24 hours and tried charging it afterwards for another 24 hours. No life. I kept it rice until I could no longer see any residue in the camera/flash and took out the sim card holder to look at the water detector chip which to my surprise is still blue even after my phone had been submerged. Does this leave me with any hope of repairing my phone or is it useless? [link] [comments] |
