I can't see it at all in my account subscriptions. Where can I cancel it? Also, is there any way to make it so I have to approve any such charges? | iMac restarts itself when idle. Posted: 26 Jun 2020 09:00 PM PDT Edit: Ordered some RAM from OWC, we'll see what happens! Thank you for troubleshooting with me. I will update with my findings. All of the hardware is original and I don't really know what else to try, and I can't discern any useful information from the crash report. The weird thing is that this issue has not happened during use. Sometimes I step away for 20 minutes, or 2 hours, and I come back to the login screen and the error message. | bootable usb not showing up tried everything Posted: 26 Jun 2020 08:50 AM PDT i have 3 imacs 2007+ And i created a bootable usb drive el capitan but its not showing up in startup disk manager. trying to convert yosemite and older os to el capitan. main disk is wiped on one. When I hold option key down on startup it shows up but when i select it and click enter it computer just boots up normally. Will not show up on startup disk manager. tried 3-4 times re formatting disk, tried using 2 different disks, both 16gb disks and nothing... Posted: 26 Jun 2020 10:11 PM PDT About a year ago, I went through my parents email that was used as the Apple ID to an old iPad I had, I forgot exactly why, maybe to see if I could login to iCloud. I found an email from around 2014 saying that my iMessage was signed into on another iPad. The name on the iPad wasn't a full name, but it definitely seemed like my friends iPad due to their first name and last initial being there, plus some emojis I believe they would have used . I did not remember ever signing into another iPad, but then again this was occurred so many years prior. I asked my friend if the name of the iPad sounded like the one she had, (hers was for school), she said it sounded familiar, but she also didn't remember me ever putting in my Apple ID for iMessage. I feel like it might've just been insignificant at the time, so maybe that's why we can't remember. I just can't think of another person logging in with such a similar name and I don't believe my friend would have known the password without me telling them or putting it in myself. They haven't had their iPad for a year due to leaving school and I have not used my iPad in nearly four years, so I'm not concerned about my privacy currently. But since it said I logged into iMessage, instead of iCloud, say if I forgot to logout, they wouldn't be able to see photos or any other data on my device. I'm assuming they would see incoming messages, but would they see my replies? Also, can you even be logged into two iMessage accounts at the same time, if not, would one log out and you would have to manually sign in again? [link] [comments]  |
| I am having problem with my iPhone and Mac connection Posted: 26 Jun 2020 10:05 PM PDT So 2 days ago I reset and put in recovery mode on my iPhone to clear cache and downgrade from iOS 14,I downloaded all the apps on my iPhone and then I connected my Apple charger to my MacBook and would show my iPhone on finder or Apple Music.I know my cable works because there is no tear and is the official apple charger.Also my phone was charging showing connection wasn't the issue.I restarted both devices and didn't show up again.Can someone help me fix this issue and thanks [link] [comments]  |
| External monitor speakers not working with MacBook Pro Posted: 26 Jun 2020 10:03 PM PDT I just set up my MacBook Pro to use an external monitor. The image shows up and works great but I can't get the speakers to work. I have checked the volume on the monitor and the MacBook. I've unplugged the cables and restarted both the MacBook and external monitor. While in the sound settings it shows the monitor with two outputs but says "display port" and does not seem to support audio. I've checked the midi settings and it has the monitor as the default external audio source but won't let me configure anything. I have the MacBook hooked up to the external monitor via a usb-c to HDMI cable and the cable box states it supports display and audio functions. Anyone have any ideas? Any help is appreciated! | help migrating MacBook Air 2011 data to MacBook Pro early 2015 Posted: 26 Jun 2020 09:45 PM PDT A friend has come to me with the following issue: He uploaded his entire system to an external hard drive, and then he used Disk Utility to delete everything from his MacBook Air 2011 (I don't know why he did this). I am not certain of the operating system he was using, but I'm pretty sure it was not the newest Mac OS. Now, he is attempting to upload everything from the external hard drive to a MacBook Pro early 2015 model. We have used disk utility to delete everything from the hard drive, we have reinstalled Catalina OS, and now we are attempting to reinstall everything from his old computer (via the hard drive) to the 2015 MacBook Pro. | Trapped in Guided Access (iPad Mini 4) Posted: 26 Jun 2020 09:40 PM PDT I was in Photos on my iPad Mini 4 today. Spotify was playing music in the background to my Bluetooth headphones. I accidentally activated Guided Access via my AssistiveTouch button. I use AssistiveTouch because the Home button on my device does not work. I tried to triple-tap it to get out like I usually do, but the AssistiveTouch button is faded and doesn't work as well. I cannot interact with the screen nor Touch ID, and I have tried using the power button to restart but that brings up the message "Guided Access is enabled. Triple-click the home button or use Touch ID to exit," which I can't do. Nothing seems to work. I'm finally resorting to Reddit because I really depend on my iPad for graphic design and video editing. Any help/suggestions are appreciated! Thank you! [link] [comments]  |

Posted: 26 Jun 2020 09:26 PM PDT I'm a software engineer and am planning to buy a monitor to use with my work laptop - macbook pro 2019, 16 inch, retina display. Usage - programming, chrome, watching videos on youtube, mostly 1080p Why monitor? To maintain a safe distance between eyes and the screen. Laptop screen tends to come very close to the eyes. Dilemma1080p (full-HD, HDMI) monitors are way cheaper than 4k (type-C) monitors. Is it worth investing this much money given my requirements? One thing that I doubt that I would end up using laptop screen itself because the display quality of retina display is superior to FHD monitors. They don't play sound while "connected" in the case either. Can I somehow make a Mac that's plugged into the one im trying to install Mac OS on think that its a virtual disk drive? I can't use the disk images if they're on the computer because installing this requires the computer to still be reading the disk image and it can't read it because it has to restart to install it. if anyone can help or even understand what im trying to say that would be great. | Screen brightening and dimming randomly? Posted: 26 Jun 2020 08:09 PM PDT I know this has been discussed a thousand times before but I haven't been able to find any solutions for my particular issue. I have an iPhone SE 1st generation and I've not had this problem up until now (or I may not have caught it before now) and it has been driving me crazy. Whenever I watch a video, especially a dark one, my iPhone's screen will brighten and dim randomly. For example, I have been watching a show on Netflix that has a lot of dark night scenes. I'm watching at 0% brightness and all the sudden the brightness jumps up like crazy! Then it slowly slowly dims back down then it jumps up again! It's pissing me off cause it is totally distracting. I do not have auto-brightness on, I don't have auto-lock on, I don't have low power mode on, I don't have reduce white point on, and my brightness isn't fluctuating outside of video apps like YouTube and the like. Can someone help me out here?? This happens after I come home from work sometime. During the day I use headphones and I have an Apple Watch series 5. They come thru all day, thru the headphones and on the watch. It is an older machine and it is running OS X El Capitan 10.11.6 Boot ROM versison is: MBP51.007E.B06 Since this was my first Mac, I learned a lot of things with my time on it. As soon as I got it, I didn't know how to make a bootable USB for formatting the system, now I have one. It took me a long time to figure things out which in turn made me save a lot of stuff on the system. I now have two Hard Drives installed and they are full of important documents and programs. Although, I still think it's important to reset it, given recent problems with permissions. Is there a way of reinstalling the system without losing my files and programs? If not, can I save them all to the secondary HDD for them to be safe? [link] [comments]  |
