Does anyone know how to delete all iPhone photos with a Catalina and iPhone 6S? Posted: 05 Apr 2020 07:09 PM PDT I accidentally hit the sync button without knowing that the Photos sync option was automatically selected. Now I have 2000 photos that I can't get rid of. As for the delete icon/option, there is no option to delete once you hit the trash can icon. I'd take a screen shot of the iphone not displaying the delete button... but you don't want to see what I got! I'm sure this is a MacOS issue but I couldn't find the answer online as everyone else has a delete option. Murphy's Law strikes again. All help is appreciated. [link] [comments]
Is FileVault still worth it on T2 Macs? Posted: 06 Apr 2020 01:40 AM PDT I've been looking to getting a new MacBook Pro as soon as Apple puts the Magic Keyboard on their 13" model, but I've been contemplating on whether or not to use FileVault. I do plan on holding a lot of personal records and the whole source code to a video game I'm developing on that system. I've heard that T2s are hardware encrypted as standard, but I want to know the likelihood of any of the data from that drive getting recovered if I were to ever lose it or sell it. I haven't had the best past with FileVault, but it is what it is. [link] [comments]

Posted: 05 Apr 2020 08:09 AM PDT Every since I installed MacOS 10.15.4 on my 2019 16-inch MacBook Pro, almost every time I wake up my computer, there is a message that my computer was restarted because of a "problem", e.g. it crashed. I did a fresh install of the OS and this is still happening. Has anyone else noticed that? [link] [comments]
How can I make autocorrect stop capitalizing my name? Posted: 05 Apr 2020 05:36 PM PDT I have always signed my emails with my name in lower case letters. It's minor, but it's a thing i've done for 30+ years. In Apple Mail, whenever I sign an email, it capitalizes my name. I can either hit esc or the x next to the suggested spelling to override the suggestion, but that's just annoying. It's spelling it correctly, it's just not the capitalization I want, so when I hit esc, it doesn't seem to be "learning" the preferred capitalization (I'm guessing it's just looking at the spelling). Generally I want autocorrect, so I don't want to shut it off completely. And I don't want it lowercasing my name if I intentionally type it with an initial cap. So brute force substitutions don't work. Is there a way to make this happen or am I just stuck with it? Thanks! [link] [comments]
Can't Pair Logitech M585 via Bluetooth Posted: 05 Apr 2020 11:25 PM PDT Hey I am trying to pair a BT mouse in 10.15 to my MacBook. I can connect with the unifying dongle and I can pair other BT keyboards, Headphones no problem. I was able to pair the mouse to my phone. However it refuses to even detect in the Bluetooth devices list. Has anyone else run into this issue? The reason I bought this mouse was so I could easily toggle between 2 devices so just Using the Unifying reciever in my MacBook is not a valid solution. Also I have tried: -Reseting everything several times -Updating the mouse/reciever firmware -Clearing the Bluetooth device list. -Deleting the Bluetooth.PList. Plz help :( [link] [comments]

Is it possible to install Mojave on an APFS volume without having to use a bootable installer? Posted: 05 Apr 2020 10:30 PM PDT Basically the title. I'm on 16" 2019 MBP running Catalina and I want to run 32-bit applications. I knew that I would have to create a separate APFS volume for Mojave, which I've done. However the only guides that I can find for installing another version of macOS on Apple's support site only go into detail about using the volume for beta versions. I've found other third party guides, but they all involve using a bootable installer on an external drive. Considering the current circumstances, I don't have easy access to a large enough drive to do this (I believe it needs to be pretty large). So is there any way that I can install Mojave without the bootable installer? I know it's still possible to get the regular Mojave installer, so I was wondering if it worked the same way as the beta installers where you can indicate the APFS volume where you want to install. Apologies if the solution is obvious, I'm completely new to working with APFS volumes etc. [link] [comments]

Whatever happened to the click to expand view in the iTunes/Apple Music app? Posted: 05 Apr 2020 04:55 PM PDT For a while something has been bugging me when I'm browsing through music and I realized what it was. It used to be that you clicked an album, and it would expand and you could select a track, then keep scrolling. Now, it opens in a new window, then you have to go back to keep scrolling through your music. Why did they delete this feature? It was much nicer for just browsing through music and listening to things [link] [comments]
Set desktop picture not in menu Posted: 05 Apr 2020 08:36 PM PDT This has always bugged me. When I'm in finder and right-click a jpg file, I don't have a "set desktop picture" menu item or a "services" menu like described in the article here. Any idea why? On Mojave. [link] [comments]
SuperDrive USB-bypass support suddenly removed in latest Catalina? Posted: 05 Apr 2020 04:19 PM PDT I can't find it anywhere in the release notes, was SuperDrive (cd/dvd-burner) support through a USB Dock removed in the latest Catalina? This used to work fine for years, including Catalina - but since the latest update, MacOS will give the dreaded "USB accessory needs power. Attach to a USB-port of the mac!" warning. Before, all you had to do was go in to recovery and add "mbasd=1" to the boot-args parameter of your NVRAM/PRAM. This parameter is still there, but it would appear Catalina has suddenly started to ignore it after the latest update. It won't budge. Anyone noticing something similar and any idea if this is intentional or a bug in the latest Catalina? :) A search in the group reveals nothing, Google is useless these days anyway but as expected: no results and Apple is being as vague about it as ever. :) [link] [comments]
View Mac activity through iPhone Posted: 05 Apr 2020 07:21 PM PDT Is there a way to spy on my MacBook through my iPhone if they are on the same WiFi network and/or on the same iCloud account. Like see what's is currently open or what is being done in real time? [link] [comments]
Posted: 05 Apr 2020 02:43 PM PDT Catalina 10.15.4 Every time I do a screen selection grab using CMD/SHIFT/5, the selection is grabbed but the selection box doesn't disappear unless I do a restart. Anyone else seen this problem? IMAC 2015. [link] [comments]
Posted: 05 Apr 2020 04:34 PM PDT I love these speakers on the 16 inch macbook. I also been playing around with other audio programs including itunes for mp3/m4a playback on the equalizer and it made the sound much superb. However, quicklook (space bar on an audio file, or any playable medium compatible with MacOS) is the only one that is using default equalizer, which is flat. I thought it was tied to Music/itunes app but it doesn't seem to be. I figured it is part of Core Audio API, that there has to be some way to adjust the equalizer within Core Audio for quicklook to work. Any ideas or thoughts? Thanks [link] [comments]
