When I watch the first episode of a serie, the second episode I don't see in the 'continue watching' section on the home page of the app. When I watched the second episode I get to see 'continue watching' the 3rd episode. In my iPhone app it's working normal when I watch episode 1 'continue watching' shows episode 2. What's wrong? [link] [comments]  | ||

| Purple Video during next episode in Amazon Prime Posted: 22 Oct 2019 07:22 PM PDT Whenever I finish an episode on Amazon Prime and it automatically goes to the next video it turns to a Purple tint. Seems quite locked down. I know they have now found a lightning port on an Apple TV but has anyone tried accessing it ? Is it accessible ? Can you plug a lightning cable in? | Apple TV 4K, Sony Bravia TV, and ARC/CEC issues Posted: 22 Oct 2019 03:11 PM PDT Have run into issues with soundbar and remote audio sync since purchasing a new (5th gen) Apple TV 4K. I have a 2019 Sony Bravia TV XBR65X (Android OS). I have a Sony soundbar with HDMI eARC and Dolby Atmos passthrough support. i recently migrated from an Amazon Fire 4k. With that setup, I had the following: HDMI 1: Amazon Fire 4k HDMI 2: Xbox One X HDMI 3 (eARC): HDMI out to soundbar with that configuration, the soundbar would sync with the TV and I could control the soundbar with the general TV remote or the Amazon remote. i just purchased an Apple TV 4k, and swapped out my Amazon Fire for the Apple TV. When I did this, sound would no longer output to the soundbar when using the Apple TV HDMI input (HDMI 1). I tried setting TvOS setting to only use Dolby 5.1 output, no dice. i then set up the Apple TV as a passthrough with the soundbar (HDMI out from Apple TV to soundbar HDMI in, HDMI out from soundbar to TV either in HDMI 1 or HDMI 3 (eARC) input. With either configuration, I got sound with the soundbar but lost the ability to control volume with either the Sony or Apple TV remotes (had to use soundbar remote to manually control volume). i have tried looking into Sony HDMI CEC settings (which they call Bravia Sync). Irregardless of the HDMI input I use, the TV will not recognize the Apple TV as a CEC device. im at a loss here. It seems strange to me that Amazon Fire would play nice with my soundbar/ARC support but Apple TV will not. I am simply looking for convenience of outputting sound via HDMI to my soundbar, and controlling master volume via Apple TV remote [link] [comments]  | ||

| Issues with AirPlay of livestream auto stopping? Posted: 22 Oct 2019 02:37 PM PDT Has anyone else been having issues recently with Airplay in general, particularly with auto pausing and/or stopping? I mainly use AirPlay to play a live stream of a TV channel from my phone to my ATV (used to use my iPad but somehow that's been broken in iOS 13). Before iOS 13 I never had any issues, but since the update I have had problems with audio cutting out, picture freezing and just today the playback would stop out of nowhere, booting me back to the ATV home screen. It didn't seem to matter if I stayed on the AirPlay page on my phone or not, I would eventually get booted off. Has anyone else had similar issues and know of a fix? [link] [comments]  | ||

I have A/V sync issue where screen will go black for a few seconds and try to re-connect. When it happens it happens every 20 seconds. I tried turning of dynamic range and frame rate matching off. It seemed to have fixed the issue for a while but now it's back. I never have an issue with losing sync with the PS4. Has anyone experienced this problem? Sounds like there are a lot of threads about this but I'm not sure if there was any fix or root cause of the problem identified. See video below at the 20 second mark. [link] [comments]  | ||

Posted: 22 Oct 2019 11:46 AM PDT I am aware of past threads asking similar things such as: https://www.reddit.com/r/appletv/comments/3nj1tp/can_i_airplay_video_from_macbook_to_apple_tv/ but whenever I connect to AirPlay from my Mac (using Catalina) and I choose the option "use as separate display" I cannot find a way to cast one desktop to the tv while working on different desktops on my mac. I have seen tips about dragging the window that contains the video to the desktop that is being displayed on the tv, but when I use mission control, on the TV I see the desktops I have on my Mac, and on my Mac's display I have a new desktop that is empty that I cannot seem to access or use. Mostly DisneyNOW for my kids (yes that'll change when Disney+ comes out) and ESPN. I thought Apple was making zero sign in a thing. Does it depend on your cable provider? I don't mind that it is an older generation (I'm still using a 10 year old Roku), and I don't think I need a remote because I always have my Iphone within reach. My concern is if I will need the remote when first setting it up, e.g. connecting to the wifi network. I can't see how the remote app on the Iphone would be much help until it the Apple TV is on the network. How does the Apple TV get connected during the initial setup, and is this possible without the remote? [link] [comments]  |
