Posted: 14 Apr 2020 08:57 PM PDT I've had my Apple TV for probably two years. It's hooked up in the bedroom and I fall asleep watching Hulu. Up until maybe two weeks ago, it's always put itself to sleep as I have it set to after 30 minutes inactivity. However, now it stays on all night. I've not changed any settings on the TV, ATV, or the Hulu app. Tried toggling the sleep on and off, tried rebooting the ATV. I cannot figure out what's changed to make this stop working. Anyone else have anything similar happen recently? [link] [comments]
Playback scrubber won’t disappear after jumping forward/back 10 seconds Posted: 14 Apr 2020 06:32 AM PDT Is anyone else seeing this? It's driving me mad on the two recent releases of tvOS. [link] [comments]
Apple TV can stream/mirror videos from any app on your Mac/iPhone? Posted: 14 Apr 2020 11:51 PM PDT Hi there, I was wondering if the Apple TV could do this? Because the main relationale behind its purchase would be to replace me having to hook up the HDMI cable to my MacBook Pro so I can just "AirPlay it" like when you have both YouTube on your Mac/iPhone and on your smart TV. Would this work with safari videos as well? Update: Thanks for all the replies. What I meant is that if I am watching a movie that I only have it locally on my hardrive and using IINA or QuickTime as my player. Can I just AirPlay it to my TV? [link] [comments]
Posted: 14 Apr 2020 04:31 PM PDT Does anyone know if its possible to use two controllers with steamlink? I want to play some co-op rocket league but I can't seem to get it to detect two DS4 controllers. [link] [comments]
Can not figure out a way to restore Apple TV (most likely Gen3) Posted: 14 Apr 2020 11:35 AM PDT I for the love of god can not figure out a way to restore an Apple TV, my friend gave it to me - the remote has a broken left arrow (which means there is no way to use it to restore the TV - If I try to pair a RemoteApp I am required to enter the 4 digit code on the AppleTV - and since the remote is broken, no banana here either - If I connect it to my Mac (OG Retina, Catalina) it starts blinking fast white (faster then when it boots, not as fast as when you hold two buttons at once), and does not appear in Finder (tried with ethernet plugged in / not plugged in, tried Menu+Down / Menu+Play on the remote to restart it) If I let it boot normally I can use it, it works normally, if not for the broken left button on the remote. I want to install VLC on it to beam movies from my Mac :-( - Any ideas? EDIT: So... After I restarted my Mac, plugged my fast blinking Apple TV to my TV (it showed the connect do iTunes image) and then plugged it in my Mac, it just showed up in finder... Nice :-D [link] [comments]
DNS service that’s supports Apple Channels Posted: 14 Apr 2020 02:18 PM PDT Hi guys I currently use GetFlix to watch Hulu, history Chanel, discovery etc from the US in the UK and it works great however Apple TV channels are not supported. I have tried unlocator and playmoTV and they do unlock Apple TV channels but the picture quality on all apps is terrible including HUlu which isnt an issue on GetFlix. So my question is can anyone recommend a DNS service that supports Apple TV channels? [link] [comments]
Fix one thing, another breaks. Posted: 14 Apr 2020 11:21 AM PDT I have the new Fios One cable box, ATV4k, Samsung TV and sound bar. While I have CEC enabled on all, when I fire up the ATV it automatically switches to that input source (HDMI 4) but when I want to switch back over to the FO input (HDMI1) the input (source) button on both the ATV remote and TV remote doesn't work. So, I have to turn everything off and then back on. The CEC thing between Samsung and Apple has many issues (and I think I solved most of them) but this one has me stumped. There's an option on the FO box to use the power button to switch source but all it does is turn everything off. Any thoughts? [link] [comments]
Receiver stops accepting PCM input from AppleTV when Airplaying to Homepods Posted: 14 Apr 2020 11:16 AM PDT If I am just having the AppleTV outputting sound to the receiver my receiver displays `PCM` along with 7 speakers it is outputting sound too. If I go ahead and start also airplaying from AppleTV to homepod along with the receiver this goes away and it now displays "Dolby Pro Logic" and I notice it is not 7.1 audio anymore. Is this expected behavior or is there something else going on? EDIT: Also the Homepods I am Airplaying to are a stereo pair if that makes a difference. [link] [comments]
Posted: 14 Apr 2020 10:14 AM PDT Does anyone know how to fix the problem with HDR not always switching on when playing HDR content? Sometimes I have to go back, play the movie, go back again, and select and play a movie a few times before HDR actually switches on. This seems to happen in whatever app I use. My PS4 Pro however have never had this problem and I have tried switching cables. The TV I am using is a Samsung Q7FN. [link] [comments]
AppleTV to Airport Express for wireless audiosetup Posted: 14 Apr 2020 06:48 AM PDT I wonder if its a good idea to get a Airport Express to stream sound from the AppleTv while using HDMI for the picture (on a projector setup). Would there be any noticable lag? [link] [comments]
