macbook pro 13 - Tela tipo tv sem antena.

    Opa! Tudo bem com vocês.

Meu macbook está com a tela tipo tv sem antena. Alguém já viu isso?

    Tentei:

    1. Redefinir a NVRAM ou a PRAM no Mac -> https://support.apple.com/pt-br/HT204063
    2. Como redefinir o Controlador de Gestão do Sistema (SMC) no Mac -> https://support.apple.com/pt-br/HT201295
    3. Como usar o Apple Hardware Test no Mac -> https://support.apple.com/pt-br/HT201257

    Sem sucesso.

As vezes ele pede a senha e depois mostra esta tela, as vezes já mostra esta tela antes de pedir a senha, quando tento fazer teste de hardware ele mostra um icone de internet recovery e depois cai nesta tela.

    Segue uma foto da tela:

Looking to buy a MacBook Pro, how much storage is enough?

    Posted: 13 Jan 2020 09:31 PM PST

I will be using this for a decent amount of coding, as well as a bit of photo, video and audio editing but only as a hobby/social media thing. I'm currently thinking just going with the 256 GB but was wondering if anyone used their MacBook for similar reasons and had a recommendation for storage.

Touch Bar Customization and what not?

    Posted: 13 Jan 2020 06:05 PM PST

So I got BetterTouchTool today because I got my first macbook and I saw that people were using it to make the touch bar non-obsolete. However, in the GitHub link, many of the .json preset files are now incompatible. I was wondering if any of ya'll have preset files I can import into my BetterTouchTool?

16 inch Macbook pro case and compatible sleeve recommendation [UK]

    Posted: 13 Jan 2020 05:06 PM PST

Any recommendations for a case (not too bulky but still protective and has good grip & allows effective cooling) and a sleeve that is protective (maybe the tomtoc sleeve?) and compatible with a case as well.

Also would you recommend a TPU keyboard cover (screen damage? Heating/cooling issues?)

Also I am based in the UK for availability reasons.

    Thanks for any help!

MacBook Air (2012) charging but % charged is not changing

    Posted: 13 Jan 2020 12:38 PM PST

    Hello.

My MacBook Air is 8 years old and today I noticed it started acting funny. My mouse started to lag and when I looked at the % charged it was at 4% and it's been 10 minutes and it hasn't changed.

The charger is plugged into the laptop and the little orange light is on. The battery does have a note that says it needs to be replaced soon. I'm in school so shelling out hundreds to get this replaced is the last thing I can do right now.

I don't hear the fan going either.

I'm unsure of what to do other than take it to the Genius Bar and pay an arm and a leg for a new battery.

MacBook Pro (15”, late 2013, Sierra 10.12.6) keeps crashing every time I use the Internet.

    Posted: 13 Jan 2020 02:57 PM PST

    copying and pasting from r/apple:

i have a doozy for you guys. i have a 15" macbook pro from 2013, running sierra 10.12.6, purchased in 2014, and for the past years it has ran flawlessly. until the 2nd of january this year, when it randomly started shutting itself down.

at first, i thought this was a battery problem, so i tried it plugged in, fully charged, etc. still kept crashing. i noticed it was getting quite hot very quickly, so i left it too cool for a while and returned to it, only for it to continue with the same problem. i spent a few days at my parents, and whilst i was there i discovered the source of the problem: it was using wifi that was causing the macbook to crash. other apps such as logic pro x were working fine, but as soon as i spent roughly 5-30 minutes on safari or google chrome i'd be greeted with a black screen of disappointment.

i returned to my place and attempted to run a software upgrade multiple times but it kept crashing. i took it to the apple store and couldn't replicate the effect, but they summarised there after finding no hardware issues it would be the kernel system working itself up, generating heat and shutting the whole thing down. the only solution allegedly was backing everything up and doing a system reset - which is exactly what i did. twice. the first time was a mere software reboot, and the second was a total system reset back to factory settings. the kernel had disappeared!

yet it still kept crashing. i took it back to the apple store and they wanted to hold on to it for 3-5 days, which wasn't ideal but i thought this would truly sort it. i got it back today with a promise of peak performance and guess what ! the problem persists ! at least it doesn't overheat anymore though ! i checked the diagnostics reports and they say that the macbook went over its CPU limit around the time of the crashes, however i could be misinterpreting this as i'm not exactly familiar with code.

i'm at my wits end here as i've tried everything - it even crashes when trying to connect to the internet via bluetooth/usb with my phone (although strangely not with hotspot), and the team at apple clearly have no idea what's going wrong with it. any ideas ??

    Reading a dead MacBook SSD

    Posted: 13 Jan 2020 09:24 AM PST

Quick question: if I have a MacBook with no CD drive and I want to read the SSD to do a data transfer, what is the adapter I would need to do so? Thanks!

So about the upcoming 14/13 inch macbook

    Posted: 13 Jan 2020 12:22 PM PST

Should I wait till March for this thing to drop or just pull the trigger and get the current 2019 version. I'm not sure I'll be able to stay in the US till the end of March or I'll be back to my hometown before that. And if I don't get either I'll be screwed since Macbook pricing in Egypt (where I live) is just absolutely crazy (x2 the msrp).

Mainly what's holding me back off the 2019 version is (of course) the keyboard. I mean, I would love to get a much better speaker, mic, double the storage, and maybe double the RAM as the rumors say, but they're not as much of a deal-breaker as a bad or unreliable typing experience since I'm a developer and I type for a living.

Please let me know your opinions

What is the fastest external drive I can use as a programs drive?

    Posted: 13 Jan 2020 08:39 AM PST

So I bought the new macbook air 2019. I did not think to ask if i can upgrade the hard drive (been using pcs for ever and 1st mac) (my own fault). So obviously 128GB SSD is not much as an internal drive(I am being polite). So can I buy an extremely fast external drive to use and reinstall the os on the internal and then only install new programs on the external drive to keep the internal drive from filling up?

What kind of hard drive to replace with on a Mid 2012 MacBook Pro

    Posted: 13 Jan 2020 08:07 AM PST

I have a 15 inch mid-2012 Macbook with 500GB of storage, which has considerably slowed down over the past year. I took it to the apple store and they ran diagnostics. They told me my hard drive was failing and that I'd need to replace it, but they no longer sell those parts. He suggested I buy one on Newegg, but I don't understand very much about how to pick one. Will my computer last longer if I get more storage space or an SSD card? Are there some brands that are better than others? Is Newegg the cheapest place to purchase an internal hard drive? How do I check if it's compatible with my laptop? If you have any advice or answers I'd really appreciate hearing them. Thanks!

Is there any way to avoid popping up the Photo app, after adding a photo to it?

    Posted: 13 Jan 2020 01:32 AM PST

Each time when adding an image to the Photo app from Chrome or other sources, the Photo app popping up to the very front of the window.

I want to disable this function but can't find any relevance option on preference.

Is there any way to stop this?

    Questions about my new MacBook.

    Posted: 13 Jan 2020 06:44 AM PST

    Hello there everyone,

After years of living the Windows life, I recently switched to a MacBook, and I'm loving it.

However, I have some questions, and I was hoping some of you might help me. If I'm posting in the wrong place, then please be so kind to show me where to go.

    • What's the optimal way of recharging. In times long past it used to be drain completely and charge completely, but what should I do to keep my battery life as long (living) as possible? Is there a problem just plugging my MacBook in, and using power directly, will that also ruin my battery?
    • I have a question about Apple Music. I transferred my music from Windows Groove to my new MacBook, but all album art seems to be lost. When I right click an album I get the possibility 'show in iTunes' which works, but when I right click and click 'search album art' it doesn't seem to find anything. Does anyone here know a quick solve that doesn't mean I have to search all album art, download it and import it?
    • Any other tips for a new user are very much appreciated.

Have a nice day everyone, and thanks in advance to those who'll answer my questions.

Is it possible to upgrade hard drive on Macbook Pro 2017 retina without touchbar?

    Posted: 13 Jan 2020 02:25 AM PST

Bought a Macbook Pro 2017 last year - the one with the retina screen but without the touch bar - with a 128GB hard drive which I now see is nowhere near enough space. Have resorted to sticking a USB-C hub to the shell and having a 200GB microSD card in there.

Obviously that's not ideal, but I was wondering if there is any way to expand the internal memory on this laptop? Seen conflicting reports online.

    External monitor keeps disconnecting

    Posted: 13 Jan 2020 02:18 AM PST

    Hi,

I have a pretty much brand new Samsung external monitor, I connect my MacBook and after about 10 seconds the Samsung turns black (MacBook lid shut). Could it be the cheap HDMI to USB C I'm using?

    MacBook Pro 2017 13"

    Thanks

Question for owners of recent MBP machines: does the screen need protection during transit?

    Posted: 13 Jan 2020 02:03 AM PST

I travel a lot with minimal luggage, often everything jammed into one bag, and my 2009 11" MacBook Air's display shows some slight marks where the keyboard has rubbed on the screen. I also use a 2012 13" MBP under similar circumstances, though I've fitted a non-reflective screen protector in order to prevent similar damage.

Both of these machines are quite old and I'm toying with the idea of buying a 16" MBP, but I'm concerned that the new machines' thinner construction and larger screen area will make it even more prone to flexing, leading to permanent marks where the keyboard meets the screen.

If you own one of the new shape 13, 15, or 16" machines and travel a lot yourself, have you noticed any marks on your screen? Do you use any form of protection? I'm loath to apply a screen protector to such a premium display since the picture quality is one of the main drivers for this purchase, and I'm concerned about putting something on the keyboard - like a microfibre cloth - before closing the laptop since seeing reports of cracked screens as a result of somebody overing their FaceTime camera with a tiny piece of tape.

Thanks in advance for any feedback - really appreciate this!
