Posted: 28 Dec 2019 10:57 PM PST And have it actually represent the live weather! I don't think it would be hard to implement at all. A sorely missed opportunity! [link] [comments]

Let’s let third party apps take Heart Rate Variability (HRV) measures Posted: 29 Dec 2019 12:12 AM PST Heart Rate Variability (HRV) lets us track our autonomic nervous system. This can help us determine the impacts of our current lifestyle including fitness, sleep to many different aspects of our health and can help greatly improve our lives. Currently, the Apple Watch only takes HRV measures when using the breath app, but we should encourage Apple to allow third party apps to take the measurements through bluetooth. This Harvard study has some more details on importance of HRV. https://www.health.harvard.edu/blog/heart-rate-variability-new-way-track-well-2017112212789 I've sent in a feature request (https://www.apple.com/feedback/watch.html) to allow 3rd party HRV utilization and I encourage everyone to do the same. Feel free to copy and paste: "Could you allow third party health apps to signal the Apple Watch to take HRV measures. HRV tracks the autonomic nervous system and is an important indicator of our health. It would be sensible to increase the health functionality of the watch if apps like EliteHRV or HRV4Training could use the Apple Watch to take the HRV measurements and provide feedback on improving our lives" [link] [comments]
Series 5 getting nonexistent stand time? Posted: 29 Dec 2019 07:01 AM PST I woke up an hour ago, started with empty rings and somehow have 4 hrs stand time? [link] [comments]
Posted: 29 Dec 2019 06:31 AM PST Hi Everyone. So I just recently acquired an Apple Watch, and. I was wondering if there was a way to get notifications for Twitter on the watch when someone tweets/replies, direct messages, so on and so forth. I have tried Chirp and Tweetings, but either I'm doing something wrong, or else this is not really what they are designed for. Has anyone been able to find something that works? I would appreciate the help. Thank you! [link] [comments]
Posted: 28 Dec 2019 09:06 PM PST I just got a series 5 watch with gps. I am noticing a huge difference in battery life between my new 5 and the 3 and 5 my family members have. Is anyone else experiencing this problem, and if so how do I go about fixing it? [link] [comments]
Posted: 28 Dec 2019 08:53 PM PST I got an Apple Watch series 5 for Christmas and was thinking about getting a sleep tracking app for it. I was wondering what experiences other people had with different sleep apps? If you could tell me which you one would recommend and what some pros and cons of the app is that would be greatly appreciated! (I am willing to pay) [link] [comments]
Posted: 28 Dec 2019 10:01 PM PST I've heard that Heart Rate Monitor on Apple Watch series 5 isn't accurate at the beginning of the workout and in the middle of the workout every now and then. Is it fixed? [link] [comments]
Has anybody switched from Series 5 to Series 3? How has been the experience? Posted: 28 Dec 2019 05:20 PM PST I currently have the series 5, and still within Apple's return window. Considering switching to series 3 mainly to save $200. I was wondering if anybody has done similarly, and if they missed things on the Series 3. My use cases are very simple: reminders app, workout tracking (don't care too much about accuracy), checking calendar, the breathe app and heart rate app. That's about it. Thanks in advance for your comments! [link] [comments]
Posted: 28 Dec 2019 08:15 PM PST New to the watch, I always have my background app refresh off on my phone but I'm wondering if I turn it off on the watch will it ruin the experience? For instance, what will change if it is turned off in terms of updates i receive from things like texts and stuff like that? Thanks [link] [comments]

Problems sending and receiving messages Posted: 29 Dec 2019 03:23 AM PST I am a brand new owner of the the AW 5 and am Getting used to using a smart watch. This one has cellular data which we have gone through the process of activating. It is being weird about the messages app though. Lately the messages have not been showing up in my notifications. I have also been receiving messages only after an extended delay, seemingly longer than what's acceptable. I also just tried to send a message to myself as a test and it didn't want to send. I'd hate for this to be an ongoing issue. Anybody have tips on how to fix this or what is causing these problems? [link] [comments]

Posted: 28 Dec 2019 07:01 PM PST Can someone recommend a good replacement for the Apple pod cast app ? I've had nothing but issues with it since I got the watch . Episodes wouldn't download , episodes " would not be available " , and episodes cutting out mid play whilst I'm out on a run . Bearing in mind I have zero issues with any music . The Apple podcast app just seems to be a mess and I'd love an alternative . Many thanks folks . [link] [comments]
Wear both FitBit and Apple Watch together? Posted: 28 Dec 2019 08:08 PM PST I'm just not happy with any of the sleep apps for Apple Watch (I've tried several). I really miss the sleep tracking I had with my FitBit. There are other things about FitBit activity that I miss as well.... so my question- do any of you wear both your Apple Watch and a FitBit? App to track water intake? Bonus if it includes other drinks (including alcohol, caffeine, etc) Posted: 29 Dec 2019 01:16 AM PST Edit: I would like an app that can track both water intake, but also keeps track of caffeine in the health app. It doesn't have to be free. Tracking alcohol is a plus but not the main goal for me. [link] [comments]
How long have you ever made your Apple watch last? Posted: 28 Dec 2019 10:19 AM PST I was out on a 3 day weekend road-trip recently and made my Series 3 42 mm last that whole weekend (about 2 nights and 3 days) with a combination of using Power-reserve mode and disabling background refresh and workout power saver on last day. I think without this combo watch could have lasted about 1.5 days, is this a realistic usage for a new S3? How long have you been able to keep your watch alive while traveling? [link] [comments]
Offline Podcasts on Apple Watch - Outcast vs. Minicast - What are your experiences with these? Posted: 28 Dec 2019 02:02 PM PST I'm trying to listen to my favorite podcast on runs without my phone. None of the podcast apps that do support offline playback have any of the older episodes. For this reason I'm currently using pocket casts but it doesn't support watch download natively. Both Outcast and Minicast seem like they can solve this problem. Outcast is only $1 and seems like the download management is heavily centered around using the watch itself (which is a con IMO). Minicast is $4 and it seems like the download management is taken care of more on the phone and you selectively push podcasts to the watch for download. Are there any other major differences between these? I'm not finding much info that isn't at least a year old. Have these apps added any functionality since their launch? Edit: I bought Outcast and gave it a go. It has a nice UI but doesn't support local files playback or let you transfer podcasts directly to it. Minicast lets you try before you buy. You can transfer files/podcasts directly to it, but it's UI sucks and it hasn't been updated in over a year so that's unlikely to change. :) [link] [comments]
Which looks better in your opinion, the black stainless steel or silver? Posted: 29 Dec 2019 04:13 AM PST So yeah. I have an aluminium model at the moment, and I've been eyeing up an upgrade to the stainless steel series 5 model. The issue I'm having is I have a silver link bracelet I had from the very first Apple watch that came out that I never used, so I was thinking of getting a silver stainless steel model with a sports band to take advantage of that, but the more I look into the different models, the black stainless steel variant looks nicer. Just wanted an opinion on them both. Thanks. [link] [comments]
Just got my wife an Apple Watch 4 for Xmas.... Posted: 28 Dec 2019 08:24 PM PST I sent her a activity sharing request. Her activity was on my list immediately. She has sent out several invites to me, my son and other friends... no one has actually seen the invites. She still has no Activity friends appearing. Any thoughts? [link] [comments]
How can I see my heartbeat data over the course of a few hours at a more granular level? Posted: 28 Dec 2019 04:46 PM PST For example, so I can chart my heart rate over the course of an event like the super bowl or an interview. I've seen people post some similar charts on reddit before and I just got a series 5! [link] [comments] |
