    iPad Pro 2017 (256gb) vs iPad Air 3 2019 (64gb) ~ €59 difference

    Posted: 24 Nov 2019 11:14 AM PST

    Hello.

Quick question for you guys, I have the chance to buy a brand new:

    - iPad Pro 10.5" 2017 (256gb) for €528

    or

    - iPad Air 3 2019 (64gb) for €469

I've done some research and found out that the iPad Pro 2017 is the best device of the two. The only "but" is that it will probably be supported for less time than the newest Air.

    Consider that there's a 59€ and 192GB difference (the Air 256gb is 590€).

Which one of the two would you guys choose?

    Thanks!

I'm looking to buy a stand for my 10.5" iPad Pro so I can move away from the Smart Keyboard and use a Mechanical Keyboard.

    Posted: 24 Nov 2019 12:20 PM PST

Does anyone have any recommendations on stands they like? Or comments on what they wish their stand did differently since using one? Ideally I'd like a portable set up I could take with me to a coffee shop or library. Any help or advice would be appreciated. Thank you!

What free app can open xlxs/excel files, where tables are functional that is ios 9 or earlier?

    Posted: 24 Nov 2019 12:16 PM PST

Have an old ipad that I'm trying to view my excel documents on,

    I want the app to:

    1. be free
    2. work with ios 9 (10 or later is not any good)
    3. open excel files
    4. have working Tables (for example: can order the items differently like from greatest to smallest)

Even when I open a document in email through the standard Quick Look file viewer, features like tables and freeze panes don't work. I could finish the documents in a apple app if this would be a better/only route I could take.

Any advice will be appreciated, thanks!

My wish for the iPad Pro

    Posted: 23 Nov 2019 11:46 PM PST

I've been looking for the perfect keyboard case for my iPad Pro for a little while now and I have found some really decent ones out there, but they all miss the mark in one way or another. I loved my Surface Pro 6 because of the kickstand and typing experience. I wish someone out there would make a quality kickstand case that isn't super bulky. I would really like to see a slimmed down version of the ZAGG Slim Book Go with better magnets holding the keyboard on and a regular kickstand instead of the reverse one.

I have the ZAGG Slim Book Go right now and the Brydge is on the way. I also have my Smart Keyboard in a drawer, just in case I really need a lightweight case for the day. If I fall in love with the Brydge, then the Slim Book is going back. Typing on the Slim Book is fantastic though.

In my perfect world, Apple would've made a kickstand cover with back it keys and a trackpad.

Having problems with iPad Air 3 external Hard Drive

    Posted: 24 Nov 2019 06:36 AM PST

So after reading comments on Reddit I bought a powered USB hub to try and get my Seagate Backup Plus 1tb HD to work with my iPad Air 2019. Before I got the hub it said there's not enough power to use the HD when I plugged in via a camera dongle thing. And when I plug into the hub and into the dongle it doesn't come up at all, the hard drive lights up but nothing happens on the iPad.

Any ideas? Would love to just use my hard drive as advertised

Brydge just wasn’t for me, ZAGG’s Slim Book Go on the other hand . . .

    Posted: 24 Nov 2019 01:28 PM PST

So I currently have in my possession the Apple Smart Keyboard, ZAGG's Slim Book Go, and the Brydge Pro 11 for my 2018 iPad Pro 11 inch. I do appreciate how slim the Apple Smart Keyboard is and don't actually mind the typing on it, but not function keys to backlight are a major drawback for me. After a couple of days I purchased the Slim Book Go from ZAGG. FO only $100.00, this keyboard cover seemed to check all of my boxes, a more secure place for the pen, a kickstand, backlit keys, function keys, and a detachable keyboard. The Slim Book Go does absolutely add some bulk to the iPad Pro and on the 12.9 inch it might be too much, but on the 11 inch it seems fine enough. The first the that I noticed about the Slim Book Go was the typing experience, I absolutely love it, it has a very nice tactile feel and a great sound when typing. The keyboard on the Slim Book Go has not only backlighting, but has multiple colors to choose from. Multiple colors are not exactly a big deal to me, but it is nice to have. The pairing process is is very easy and the cover seems to provide protection for the iPad in all directions. Also, when removing the magnetically attached keyboard from the tablet, the cover is not crazy big or heavy and there is a secondary spot on the bottom for them pen just in case you are trying to save battery by not having it paired or charging. The pen goes in and comes out very easily but remains securely in the cover. Lastly, the kickstand has always been an amazing feature to have on a tablet. I DO wish they would've made it a regular kickstand instead of a reverse one (folds down from the bottom), but I love having it. Also the battery life on the keyboard (according to ZAGG) is 12 months of use on a single charge "1 hour per day with backlight on" or roughly 365 hours of use with the back light on. Lastly, the Brydge keyboard is one I fully expected to absolutely love and make my daily driver, until I received it. Don't get me wrong, aesthetically the thing is gorgeous, but I have some issues and some need that are preventing me from keeping it. Firstly, the damn thing is heavy for such a small keyboard, the ZAGG is probably about 60 percent of the weight of the Brydge (or at least it feels that way). The typing experience on it is good, but seems more cramped than the Slim Book Go and the key travel is just not enough. The last thing it came down to was the lack of a kickstand. Sometimes I like being able to use my tablet as a tablet and if I go into the kitchen to make some food or am doing busy work at the office or at home and just want to play a video in the background, I don't have to keep a separate stand anywhere, it's on the back of the tablet.

So while each one of these are great options for a variety of reasons, I'm gonna skip the Brydge for now (this surprises me greatly). I've got the Slim Book Go for my daily driver and the Smart Keyboard for the days where I need to cut the size and just want something slim. Also, I want to note that every account of of a customer having to send out for a replacement of their case within the 1 year warranty says that the experience is absolutely amazing and it is super easy to get the replacement sent out right away AS LONG AS YOU REGISTER YOUR CASE ONLINE. Currently the ZAGG Slim Book Go is only $80.00 online at Best Buy.

Possible to download all files in an iCloud Drive folder at once?

    Posted: 24 Nov 2019 09:10 AM PST

    Hi,

So the files app seems to work in the way that it's only possible to individually tap a file to force it to download. However I have a folder with a couple hundred video files that I all want to download so that I can edit them.

Is there a way to force all the files in a folder to download locally? (Using iCloud Drive/ iPadOS)

Speech-Language Therapist in Need of Help!

    Posted: 24 Nov 2019 10:22 AM PST

Hi guys, so I'm a speech language therapist and work with preschoolers. I want to invest in an iPad for basically 3 reasons-- play games in therapy as a reinforcer, take notes on my sessions, & eventually replace my currently very old macbook. I'm pretty overwhelmed with all the options and want a solid investment that will last as long as possible. I'm leaning towards the basic iPad 10.2, but truly don't know anything since the last iPad I owned was the 2nd gen. Any thoughts super appreciated

Is iPad 7th gen smart keyboard compatible with iPad Pro 9.7 (2016) ?

    Posted: 24 Nov 2019 10:21 AM PST

I couldn't find the smart keyboard for my iPad Pro 9.7 anymore, and the new 7th gen iPad has slightly larger screen. I am wondering if I can use the new 7th gen iPad smart keyboard case because they have the very same design for the connector and its placement.

    Apple Mail App Broken

    Posted: 24 Nov 2019 07:31 AM PST

I'm running 13.2.3 and my native mail app will not work correctly. The swipe functions are not responding after several minutes of use. I can swipe to close the app, reopen it, and some times it'll work again.

It doesn't matter which orientation the screen is in either. Since I can't delete and reinstall the app, is my only option to redo the ipadOS? Is there a know glitch with mail?

    Reddit scrolling problem...

    Posted: 24 Nov 2019 06:39 AM PST

I have a Logitech M720 mouse with a scroll wheel. When I visit reddit I can use the scroll wheel to scroll through the topics list.

If I enter a topic that has many responses the scroll wheel does not function and I have to hold mouse button one down and drag the content up and down...

I am running the latest iPadOS software 13.2.3 on an 12.9 iPad Pro.

Am I the only one that has this problem?

    Screen protector

    Posted: 23 Nov 2019 06:51 PM PST

Hi! I'll soon receive my new Ipad pro 12.9" 2018 and I have a question. I will use it mainly for drawing and photo editing so I don't want a matte screen protector (like paperlike) because it would ruin the beautiful colors of the ipad and I don't want a tempered glass because it would decrease the sensivity. I want a transparent film because I want to protect the touch screen from scratches and have the ipad as natural as possible but I just can't find it. Thank you 😁

Looking for app(s) to help son make comics

    Posted: 23 Nov 2019 03:23 PM PST

My youngest is into creating comics. He has a iPad 12 and the pencil and he's doing okay generating pictures, but he needs more.

Something that would allow him to add layers of background, characters, text bubbles, etc., etc. (with ability to import the images from other apps)

Place that into a somewhat freeform panel and then drag and drop panels into order and sizing for flow to build his story.

Save to books and pdf would be great too.

I imagine that there has to be something like that out therE?
