| MacBook Air model number ZOUU3LL/A being sold by Costco Posted: 22 Nov 2019 09:28 PM PST Costco is selling this MacBook Air that looks an awful lot like a 2015 or 2017 model. What's confusing me is the model number, ZOUU3LL/A, which I cannot find any information on anywhere other than Costco's own website. Even MacTracker has never heard of it. It will be on sale for $699 on Thanksgiving, which sounds like a pretty killer deal. Does anyone else know anything about this particular model. Is it a refurb? Is the SSD soldered to the mainboard? | Pro 16" external monitor troubles Posted: 22 Nov 2019 10:31 PM PST Recently, I upgraded from a mid-2017 base model MBP to the new 16''. The jump from 8gb dram to 32 and 2 cores to 8 has been wonderful. I love everything about this machine even more than I did my 13'', but I've been having some problems. I have an LG-27UK850-W USB C monitor. It's, in my opinion, a great monitor, but for some reason, when using the 2 ports on the left of my MBP, the screen on it just flashes and it seems to not mirror the display to the monitor. The right two ports seem to be working fine. Although it's only 65W, the monitor still charges my MBP, video is superb, and sound works as it should. Is this a common problem other people have been having with their external monitors, or should I go see an Apple rep about it? [link] [comments]  | ||

| Macbook battery seems to drain very fast when hot? Posted: 22 Nov 2019 04:36 PM PST So especially in the summer times occasionaly when I used my laptop my battery drained very fast, now when it's back to being colder it was fine again. Loosing maybe 10% in 2 hours or so while using it during my lecture, amazing. Well today it was charged to about 80% and whitin just 2h it was down to about 15%.... And my macbook seemed to be hot too so maybe heat is an issue for my battery.? Any possible explanations for this? PS: all I did every single time is basic browsing, switching apps, writing, etc. Also under battery healht my battery is considered "good", had it for less than a year [link] [comments]  | ||

Most times I open the laptop from sleep it would work for a few seconds then black out with the empty battery icon even though the battery has power. Then I plug it back in and the battery % resumes right where it was before dying. No specific battery % when this would happen. Tried battery calibration and SMC reset with no luck. Currently 443 cycles with 82% health according to coconut battery [link] [comments]  | ||

| MBA 18 Battery dies in sleep? pls help Posted: 22 Nov 2019 04:51 AM PST I have been using MBA18 since February and pretty low on battery cycles (78). I do not use it as much but lately I noticed that every time if I close the lid for more than a day by the next time I want to use it. I'll find the battery dead empty. Is there is a way I can fix this, I don't want to do the Terminal TCP Keepalive thing cause It just happened lately and If there is any terminal command to see what wake it up during sleep and drain the battery that would be great but If nothing help I'm happy to factory reset it though. I'm not sure why update stop when I'm not working actively in the laptop. I want to upgrade the os to Catalina but I have to keep it on all night and I can't stay actively working in the Mac all night. [link] [comments]  | ||
