| iPhone 7 closes apps immediately Posted: 22 Nov 2019 07:45 AM PST Hello, my iPhone has started to close apps in the background. I will be on a certain app and as soon as I press the homebutton, the app will completely kill all background activity and have to reload everything. It has happened before but usually it takes minutes if not hours until the page I had opened has to reload. Now if I click on a link (for example on reddit) and another app opens, Reddit will reset itself and start up at the top of the front page again. | Posted: 22 Nov 2019 09:56 PM PST tldr: Personal Apple Watch Series 3 screen came off. Sent to Apple Repair, but they claim Watch has previously been opened (not true!). Hence, it can't be repaired under an Apple repair program. Supervisor I spoke to on the phone says matter cannot be escalated. Full Story: I bought a new Apple Watch Series 3 in late 2017. In 2018 -less than a year later- the screen came off. At Apple Union Square in San Francisco they replaced the watch. I'm unsure if the replacement they gave me was a new watch or a refurbished one, but in any case the serial number was different so it was not the same broken watch I gave them. 10 months later, screen of replacement watch came off, again.
However, last week I got an email saying the following: "They noticed the Watch shows signs of accidental damage or misuse, so they can't repair it. The repair wouldn't be covered by the warranty, an AppleCare product, or an Apple repair program." I called customer service and a rude supervisor said they saw signs that the watch has been opened before and hence they won't fix it. This isn't true. I never opened the watch. I haven't dropped it or impacted either. The only option he gave me is to pay $329 + tax. He said there is no possible escalation or anything I could do to contest it. Cherry on the top: when the conversation was heating up, I told the rude supervisor I was going to record the conversation. He said I was not allowed to record it and he would hung up if I started recording. I asked him if he was recording the conversation, and he confirmed he was indeed! He said he has the right to record the conversation under the terms and conditions! How is that fair? He also refused to provide any information about him except his first name. [link] [comments]  |

Everything looks normal... but I cannot successfully print anything. I notice the status shifts to Pause; so I Resume printing... yet nothing happens and it reverts back to Pause... Interesting point #1: I just tried printing from my iPhone X, and while it sees the printer on wifi, it just spins... Interesting point #2: My husband can print fine from his Windows laptop... I told her this would be an issue if she ever left the company. So she told me she has an old apple ID tied to her personal email that we could transition to. My questions is how do I migrate all her data and devices to her personal apple ID? She does pay .99 for additional storage, so I don't know how to move that over as well. | Macbook pro 2012 hard drive failure and replacement SSD formatting Posted: 22 Nov 2019 07:55 PM PST So my macbook that I've had since 2012 finally stopped working a few months ago, it froze and when I turned it back on there was the flashing question mark folder screen and the error code VDH002. When I went to disk utility it wouldn't let me repair or do anything to the old HDD so I assume its just dead? I bought a new SSD since I wanted to upgrade it anyway, the problem is my old drive doesn't work and all the guides I can find for formatting a new SSD involve cloning the old one which I can't and don't want to do. I had all the important files on an external HD before the macbook hd stopped working and I stupidly never used time machine. the only other computer I have is a windows notebook, could I use that to format the new ssd if I got an enclosure for it? Basically I want to know how to format the new SSD so I can use internet recovery to install the OS again and I don't need or want any of the data on the old hard drive. | MPB 2015 – Battery dead with only 385 cycles? Posted: 22 Nov 2019 04:07 PM PST Hello folks! Recently I'm quite frustrated with the battery life of my MBP 2015 (15"). Bought it in 2015 and the battery has only 385 cycles as of now, system also reports it to be in "good" condition. Still the MB tends to turn off at 30-40% of battery life, especially under heavy load (Photoshop etc.), with no chance to bring it back until I plug it in. After I do so, it sometimes only shows about 5% out of the sudden, sometimes it goes back to 40% and pretends nothing happend. At home thats not the biggest problem, but isn't the purpose of a mobile device to take it with you if needed... As you can see from the number of charge cycles it hasn't been used as a daily driver, at least not full 4 years straight. But I always paid meticulous attention to the fact that the battery level was about 50% when I haven't used it for a few days and never let it drop too low for too long. It wasn't plugged in for too long as well, so no "stationary" kinda device. Would you say thats "normal" or is there any way to recalibrate/revive/whatever the battery? I already tried letting it drain to 0% and bringing it back over night to 100% a few times. Obviously I don't have Apple Care for a device this "old". Is there still any chance Apple might replace the battery since it only has 385 cycles and has issues already? I also checked the serial number with Apples recall program for MBP 2015 where they replace defect batteries, but my MB doesnt seem to be included. Thanks for any tip in advance... | How do I get my pictures back with full resolution? Posted: 22 Nov 2019 09:11 AM PST Sorry if my formatting is wrong, Im on mobile currently. So last night, I updated my iPhone 6s to 13.2.3 and everything seemed fine afterwards. I woke up today to look a picture only to find it be blurry and have an exclamation mark. I googled what the exclamation mark was and found out that the pictures were copies and not the originals. I followed the steps to fix it by going to settings>photos>download and keep originals. Then i realized my phone has been backed to iCloud in like 2 years so the data won't be there. I manually back up to my iTunes on windows pc. If i press the button to turn of iCloud photos my pictures will be deleted forever. I tried buying more iCloud storage but it's not letting me do that either. Posted: 22 Nov 2019 12:47 PM PST So this has been a recurring issue that drives me nuts and I have yet to find an actual solution to (other than paying for a monthly subscription of apple music which I can't actually afford). I have a bunch of CDs from over the years and as freebies from buying band merch and such. I always put them into itunes and they play perfectly fine there, but I guess when I sync my phone something gets messed up. For example, I got this album at a concert and had to download it from online. It shows up fine on my phone, but the moment I try to play, it will briefly show the song, only to skip through it, moving on to the next song and the next until it finds one it can play. In this instance, it will skip through the first three songs and jump to What I Am. It does this solely with albums I bought either outside of apple or as a CD, but I have no idea how to fix it. I'm running itunes 12.10.2.3 I have an iphone SE running ios 12.1.4 (though this is an issue that has actually followed me from an iphone 4 and through many ios and itunes updates) Does anyone have any suggestions for a solution? | Posted: 22 Nov 2019 09:55 AM PST So... My custom 16' MBP arrived less than 6 hours ago. Straight away I could tell there was a problem, coming from a 13' 2015 MBP, the screen just wasn't bright enough. It's not unusable, it's just clearly not bright enough. In an unlit room, it's hard to use less than full brightness which is ridiculous. Did a Reddit search and found other users experiencing it. I thought, oh well, maybe it's software or maybe it will have to go back to Apple, no big deal. Thought I'd try out the speakers, only to run into this issue, which many others on Reddit have run into. And to top it off... Now there is a sound coming from inside the MacBook that sounds like a 2005 hard drive. I've recorded it on the fantastic new microphone if anyone knows where I can upload the audio to, I'll put it in an edit. Needless to say, this machine is getting returned on Monday. | rMBP 13" 2015 SSD not showing up after Catalina update. Posted: 22 Nov 2019 09:52 AM PST Hey, I'm a technician in South America, and a client came in with a rMBP 13" 2015 that doesn't recognize the SSD after trying and failing to update to Catalina. (In Disk Utility) I've tried connecting the drive externally on another Mac and it gets recognized sometimes but as an uninitialized disk. Other times it just doesn't show up. Can't partition/format from the other Mac either. I thought it was a defective SSD until I tested it with a new SSD. It installed El Capitan fine, then I updated to Mojave. The next day the Macbook didn't recognize the new SSD either and when I connect it externally it gives the SAME exact problem as the old SSD. This is the third time this month that a client came in with this exact problem and I haven't been able to help them fix it AT ALL. The Apple chat Support page gives me an error every time. Posted: 22 Nov 2019 02:49 AM PST My new iPhone 11 Pro which I've owned for about 3 weeks is now making a creaking sound whenever the phone is twisted. You might say 'don't twist it' but this is noticeable when I take the case of and also slightly squeeze the phone on the side (for example when double pressing lock button for Apple Pay). | iPhone 6s restarting after charging and then dropping battery Posted: 22 Nov 2019 05:44 PM PST Battery has been declining over the past couple months but this morning after I woke up and took my phone off the cable it reset l. When it came back it was showing about 80% battery (from originally 100% before the reset) and then about 5-10 seconds after it immediately dropped to 10%. Has never done that before. Was able to get it back up after a bit of charge and was on and off a battery pack for the day and was fine. However later on I had kept it on charge for a bit as I was out and about and when I got to dinner I took it off and it happened again. So I said let me test to see if I can replicate and again let it charge and stay on the charger for over an hour. Got back to my room and yet again, it reset and battery dropped to 10%. Know I'm going to have to get a new phone soon but not in the best situation financially to get at the moment, but if anyone has any idea what the problem could be or what I could do to "fix" it until I can afford something new it would be greatly appreciated.
