No longer can buy apple care for macbook pro within a year of purchase? Posted: 09 Oct 2019 07:09 PM PDT Ive been using macbooks for about 10 years. Normally what I did is to purchase the macbook at the apple store and then within a year I would purchase apple care to extend the warranty to 3 years. I used applecare so many times as I got a few lemons over the years. My current macbook pro is covered till December 14 so I tried to extend applecare to 3 years today and found out that my macbook is not eligible, seems like they changed their policy to only 60 days after purchase which I didn't know till now. Speaking from experience these laptops are quite fragile and I'd really like to extend coverage. I purchase this laptop in Canada but I live in Japan now, is there any way to extend apple care at all at this stage at all? [link] [comments]
Catalina upgrade bricked my Air Posted: 09 Oct 2019 05:51 AM PDT For some reason this install doesn't check for free disk space until after the disk is FUBAR. Restoring from Timemachine now. Wasting an entire day on this. [link] [comments]

Mouse lag (acceleration) seemingly re-introduced with MacOS Catalina Posted: 09 Oct 2019 03:50 PM PDT Hey everyone. I was wondering if anyone else was experiencing this issue where a bluetooth/usb mouse feels a bit more floaty/sluggish when tracking around the screen? With Mojave I was able to remedy my mouse tracking issues with via terminal with: I re-did it upon installation of MacOS Catalina, but now instead of having a weird acceleration feeling, it feels like it's ever so slightly lagging a bit. Does apple hold black friday sales on their online shop? Posted: 09 Oct 2019 02:36 PM PDT I intend to buy a 2019 macBook Pro, base everything except for Ram->16 GB, and SSD->256. Should I wait for Black Friday or no? [link] [comments]

Catalina: screen is unresponsive when it goes to sleep. have to restart every time Posted: 09 Oct 2019 06:42 AM PDT
Posted: 09 Oct 2019 09:45 AM PDT There is nothing wrong with the camera technically, it takes fine pictures via photo booth and it turns on immediately. But when I try to call via messenger or hangouts via google or safari, the camera does not work, I click on the camera icon and nothing, it is not clickable. I desperately need it to work on calls. I have an important call tomorrow. EDIT: It works in the firefox. So the problem is in Chrome. [link] [comments]
