Posted: 21 Sep 2019 04:28 PM PDT This is probably a peculiar question as most people want to stop the animating dock icons when opening an app in OS X. I'm running the latest version of Mojave but this was present in the last release. Whenever I want to plug my 13"MBP (2018) into my OWC Thunderbolt 3 Dock (with the LG 5K monitor attached), the dock icons stop bouncing when opening an application. Further checking in settings reveals that the "Animate opening applications" checkbox is now unchecked. If I check the box again everything is fine from that point on - that is until I dock my MBP again. Something is causing this strange behavior. I contacted Apple, OWC and LG about this and no one had an answer. I even tried using a terminal command I saw on another thread to "permanently" keep this box checked - but that did not work either. Although this may appear to some as a minor problem, I just want a fix for this. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. [link] [comments]
Safari 13 "new look" makes it feels like it's another Project Catalyst app. Posted: 21 Sep 2019 05:56 AM PDT The "favourites" has changed, especially in the search bar which makes it is so huge. But other than that, there's nothing new I guess. [link] [comments]
Notes app on MacOS Mojave saying iCloud storage is full when I only have 505.7 MB of data in it. Posted: 21 Sep 2019 03:44 PM PDT I look in settings and manage iCloud storage, and it shows 505.7 MB. However, the Notes app on MacOS Mojave keeps popping up saying it's full. No other devices or apps are throwing this error. Any thoughts on what to do? [link] [comments]
Is 1Password worth paying for? Posted: 21 Sep 2019 12:49 PM PDT I'm trying to avoid subscription based apps like fire, I hate that model unless it's things like Netflix or Music when I'm happy to pay for the new content. With Catalina, I'm moving away from Safari and Keychain, so looking for alternatives. Trying out Bitwarden last couple of weeks but I see a lot of recommendations for 1Password. They dont have a trial, you need to pay upfront for 6 months so I'm unsure whether it is worth it. Opinions? [link] [comments]
Problem with safari not saving my history! Posted: 22 Sep 2019 12:40 AM PDT My MBP's Safari is not saving my history. But it shows my iPhone's safari history. This i really annoying. If I login to google and open youtube in a new tab it's not signed in. If I login to youtube and open a video on a new tab from youtube, it's not logged in.Since I use dark mode and I open all my videos from the notification in new tabs separately, everything is in the Light background. It is very irritating at night. I have to manually enable dark mode on each tab. And none of my logins are saved since it doesn't save the history. Each time I have to login again. This happened after the latest safari update. Any help is highly appreciated. Thank you! [link] [comments]
How to track battery usage on macOS? Posted: 22 Sep 2019 12:36 AM PDT Recommendations for Apps/settings which can help in monitoring which Apps consumed how much percentage of the battery. I am aware of the energy impact shown in Activity Monitor but that only shows the "impact" of currently running Apps. I am interested in the history of the battery drain. Thank you. Posted: 21 Sep 2019 09:41 AM PDT So - I use a MBP (2019), and I am part of a corporate network. But when I am at home on WiFi I am not connected to the corporate lan. There is a shared drive that it tries to connect to that I cannot see until I am either VPN connected or sitting at corporate. I never use this drive. And I'd rather remove the dependency but can't figure out how. And because it is there it slows down login (slow on Mojave, and can't even connect without safe mode on Catalina). Is there any way to get rid of this file share mapping attempt? [link] [comments]
[Help] I need to downgrade to 10.13.3 Posted: 21 Sep 2019 02:01 PM PDT Hey folks, Ultimately I need to downgrade to High Sierra version 10.13.3 for compatibility issues (I have a 3D Render program that relies on CUDA GPU processing that only has support for that version and before. Not 10.13.6, unfortunately.) I have found 10.13.3 on Mac's website, but the file is a .pkg, not .app. All of the methods to put the MacOS on a bootable drive seem to only work with .app, not .pkg files. I can't seem to find the .app file anywhere online. Im wondering if anyone either has any guidance (on how to make the 10.13.3 .pkg file bootable), or if anyone happens to have a 10.13.3 .app file laying around that they could send my way. Thanks a bunch. Cheers. [link] [comments]
macOS Catalina on older devices Posted: 21 Sep 2019 11:13 AM PDT Hi, Did anyone install macOS Catalina in their old devices? If yes, how is the device working compared to Mojave or HS? I currently have a MacBook Ari 2015 and i'm not sure if I should give it a try. [link] [comments]
Newbie question about processes in the background Posted: 21 Sep 2019 09:57 AM PDT Hi, I have a simple question to ask. Are CoreLocationAgent and CoreServicesUIAgent part of the OS (they both have standard 'default application icon' in the Activity Monitor and they are run by the current user not root) [link] [comments]

Unable to add Google account to Mojave Posted: 21 Sep 2019 05:40 AM PDT Title says it a all. System preferences, accounts. Click Google. Pop up stating that I need to authenticate in Safari, but when I click OK, Either nothing happens at all, or Safari just opens to a blank page, not the google authentication page I'd expect. Latest Mojave, latest Safari. Etc. [link] [comments]
Posted: 21 Sep 2019 06:48 AM PDT Now Safari has updated to 13 the Drago extension is disabled. Does anyone know of an alternative? It allows you to drag a link a small distance to open a new tab. Can't be bothered to right click and click 'open in new tab' [link] [comments]
