Leak says Apple will release a fourth new iPhone model this coming spring

    Posted: 04 Sep 2019 06:46 AM PDT

Do you leave your apps on open or do you close them?

    Posted: 03 Sep 2019 02:29 PM PDT

I have a habit of closing my apps all the time, I've heard countless times not to do that because your basically gonna kill your battery even faster. So I ask you do you leave your open (if you do how's your battery like) or your just like me closing apps once your done using it.

What’s the best mail app for you?

    Posted: 04 Sep 2019 05:54 AM PDT

I downloaded the Airmal app (I don't remember the price) I had it for 5 months it's a piece of garbage, anyone with a good suggestion?

A while ago, I posted this image. In hopes we can have a decent competitive advantage with software/hardware with a great night mode. However lacks a good night shot. Even with apps. If they do.. It would be unstoppable. iPhones used to be known for their cameras. I still love its portrait mode!

5.8, 6.1, and 6.5 inch iPhone 11 case. Even though there have been so many leaks gives a good idea of the size and look of the phone.

Apple preparing to launch 'cheap' iPhone in bid to reverse sales slump

    Posted: 04 Sep 2019 08:58 AM PDT

Why don't iPhones give you the option to automatically mirror your selfies?

    Posted: 04 Sep 2019 09:16 AM PDT

Most other phones are able to do that and it's super annoying to have to download an app to manually mirror a selfie. There needs to be a function in camera settings to turn this on or off!

Is there a difference between two iPhones which are of the same model except for the region code? (Need help choosing which one to keep)

    Posted: 03 Sep 2019 10:12 PM PDT

I have two iPhone 8 handsets which I bought at a good price from eBay. One of them I plan to sell and one of them I want to keep.

They are both identical iPhone 8 handsets but the model region codes differ slightly.

    The two model numbers are:

    1. MQ7C2B/A
    2. MQ7C2QL/A

I understand the first one is from the UK market and the second from Spain/Italy/Portugal.

Both of them look (and function, as far as I can tell) exactly the same. The only minor difference is that one of them has a lot of dust and dead skin (ew) inside the pentalobe screws, speaker grilles, hardware mute toggle switch, etc. (I checked using a microscope).

One of them has 91% battery health and the other 92%.

I ran benchmarks and they are both almost identical on those, too.

So my question is: is there any sensible way to choose between these? Do the different region codes mean anything in terms of functionality of the phone?

Is there any kind of advanced diagnostics I can do to see which phone is "better"?

The only thing I can think of is that the one from Spain might have been exposed to more sunlight/heat, but the one from the UK might have been exposed to more moisture/rain.

    Any help is appreciated.

iPhone History Buffs! Did the first version of the App Store require iTunes?

    Posted: 04 Sep 2019 05:56 AM PDT

In my recollection, when the IiPhone App Store first launched, apps were only downloadable via iTunes - and only if you had a high speed connection? Have I remembered correctly?

I don’t understand the SE advocates.

    Posted: 04 Sep 2019 08:55 AM PDT

I'm truly amazed by my new XR. The display, size, and overall functionality is far superior in my eyes than my old SE i've has for 3 years. I understand wanting a smaller phone, but the SE is arguably too small to play some games and shows. what do you see in the SE that makes you want to keep it,

Does anyone else remember when new iPhones would come out in June?

Anynon-contract Esims that work in the UK?

    Posted: 04 Sep 2019 01:33 AM PDT

The only Esim in the UK is from Vodaphone, but it requires a contract.

Can any of the international Esim providers be used in the UK without any contract? I just one a second number for things like Bank OTPs so if my main number falls into evil hands they can't access bank OTPs (sadly most UK banks don't use app verifications and still use OTPs via SMS).

App for logging/tracking songs listened to on a GPS map?

    Posted: 03 Sep 2019 09:41 PM PDT

I'm getting ready to take a 12hr+ roadtrip with my girlfriend to move her in with me. I was wondering if anyone knew of an app that will log the songs you're listening to on Apple Music or Spotify and place them on a map based on the iPhone's GPS?

Best iPhone 8 case for thinness and protection?

    Posted: 03 Sep 2019 11:00 PM PDT

Looking to buy a case that has a good balance of thinness and protection for the glass back. Some of what I would go for don't seem to have adequate support in case of extreme falls.

    Thin bezelled cases for XS?

    Posted: 04 Sep 2019 04:11 AM PDT

Can anyone recommend a case that doesn't add too much width to the X/XS? The phone is already about as wide as my little trex hands can handle.

Another SE2 rumor from TheVerge. Can we trust it?

    Posted: 04 Sep 2019 04:03 AM PDT

    https://www.theverge.com/2019/9/4/20848859/apple-iphone-se2-low-cost-iphone-rumor-spec-date

I currently have an SE which I love. I had been telling myself this is the year I upgrade, but if this rumor has some legs I might just wait. The main thing I like about the SE is the size so if I can get an updated iPhone with the most updated specs in a smaller form facto I am totally fine with that. I don't need the fancy camera.

Do you all think this rumor is credible? And any chance they talk about it next week? I assume they won't mention it as that might hurt 11 sales.

Why don’t W1/H1 devices show battery life in the status bar?

    Posted: 03 Sep 2019 02:59 PM PDT

I'm so confused, the battery widget shows their battery life in full - My Bose QC35s and old Jaybirds show at least a rough battery indicator so why don't I get something like that for my Powerbeats Pro?

Has Apple ever explained this? It was really useful when it came to keeping an eye on my devices battery life. The only reason I could think of to not show it is that each earbud can have different battery levels. But even then I'd love to get a notification about that as I've done it before, had my right bud fully charged and the left close to death. It'll be even more annoying if/when they launch H1 headphones which likely won't have a charging case like AirPods and the PowerBeats Pro.

TL:DR Title, has Apple ever explained this?

Will Apple stop selling iPhone 8 Plus once the new device is announced?

    Posted: 03 Sep 2019 10:10 PM PDT

Currently have the 8. I won't be buying the newest if they don't change much from last model. I really don't like the lack of home button. I'm considering moving on to the Plus. Is my time running out?

I'm back! Reactivated tried and true 6s Plus. Almost went to Android.

    Posted: 04 Sep 2019 09:20 AM PDT

    Backstory:

I did everything right. I deactivated iMessage and carried around an old Nexus 5 for months. I did this to 1.) Get reacquainted with Android and 2.) By time while I wait for good deal on Note 9.

I would look at Note 9 videos and salivate at all the options I would have. However, this Labor Day weekend, I had an epiphany. You have to babysit Android while iPhone "just works"

Call me petty, but I missed being part of the "blue bubble" club. In the end, I said "Self. You are too old and busy to try something new" Fast forward, last night I got my iPhone reactivated and I feel more at peace than ever. Plus, I can jailbreak now! Whooo hooo!

    I'm back!
