Is the iPhone XS really worth it? Posted: 08 Jul 2019 05:28 AM PDT I was considering trading in my iPhone 7 for a new phone (either the Samsung Galaxy S10 or iPhone XS). However I can get more value out of my phone if I were to turn in my iPhone, I can get it for $550. However if I turn in my iPhone 7 to Apple I can get the XS for $800. Although money isn't that tight, it's almost double the price. The only thing holding me back from getting a Samsung is that I'm already in the Apple ecosystem with the MacBook Pro AirPods and iPad. Is the iPhone XS worth almost double of the Samsung Galaxy S10? [link] [comments]
Posted: 08 Jul 2019 01:00 AM PDT My girlfriend and me are often using AirDrop to send photos to each other when were traveling. I Love this feature, but... Since about one year AirDrop is very problematic. Its mostly not finding her phone (and shes not finding my either). Even if we both Shut down AirDrop, Go in to flightmode and back it doesnt work. After deactiving a few times it will work. But thats really annyoing. Some of you have similar problems? Any fixes? Ive never tested to reset both and restore from backup. May this help? What charger to buy for XS Max (12W, 18W or 27W) Posted: 08 Jul 2019 04:26 AM PDT I might have the numbers slightly wrong above but I know 12W use normal USB and the 18 and 27W use USB C. I have heard that a 12W charger charge almost as fast as the 18 or 27W charger (less than 5% difference after 30 min and less than 2% after an hour). Wouldn't it be better to stick with the 12W charger with normal USB as it will be more convenient to charge the phone anywhere like in the plane or in hotels just using the cable as none of them offer usb C ports? The only reason to go with usb C would be if I had a MacBook Pro than can be charged with USB C [link] [comments]

Posted: 08 Jul 2019 05:44 AM PDT You can easily change the case of a word or sentence/paragraph without retyping. Let's say you typed the word apple. With the predictive text bar enabled, select the word by tapping and holding then double tap the Shift key . An uppercase version appears in the suggested words bar. Two more single taps and the word appears with only the first letter uppercase. Select which one you want from the suggested words bar. [link] [comments]

Do notifications effect screen time? Posted: 08 Jul 2019 01:12 AM PDT When you look at the analytics of screen time and the battery usage, is that 'screen on' time affected by every time your phone lights up when receiving a notification? I'm sure it wouldn't be a drastic difference without it, but just something to think about? [link] [comments]
How sensitive is the iPhone XR screen? Posted: 08 Jul 2019 05:50 AM PDT For those of you who have had your iPhone XR since it first came out, and did not use a screen protector, how has the screen held up? How easily does it scratch? I will be getting the new iPhone XR 2019 model in a few months and am considering buying a leather case that covers the screen too. This is what I did with my iPhone 6 Plus, without a screen protector, and never had any scratches during 3+ years. Is the XR screen more sensitive to scratches than the iPhone 6 Plus? I am curious about this because I have read many comments from people online claiming that the screen essentially scratches easily and is overall sensitive. For those of you who have had an XR for several months, without using a screen protector, please share your experiences. Thank you. [link] [comments]

iPhone SE battery replacement at Best Buy Posted: 07 Jul 2019 06:56 PM PDT So my phone has been in need of a battery replacement for a while now ( I've had the phone for almost 3 years) and just recently, it decided not to turn on for a while. Also quite recently it has been crashing or re looping(that's what the guy at bb called it). But I called upon my parents to go and try and get the battery replaced. They tell me that the guy at bb tried to run a diagnostic on my phone but was not able to because it kept "re-looping", he said how it definitely needed a battery replacement because it was 2.5+ years old, but he also said that it wasn't just the battery that was wrong. I don't know how that could possibly be, if someone would care to explain I'll try my best to go more into detail but I am really confused. [link] [comments]

Posted: 07 Jul 2019 11:51 AM PDT Hey guys. I'm currently trying to buy a new phone since my S7 Edge is giving me issues. I've been an Android user for so long and I want to try something new. I'm able to purchase an XS Max (64 GB) for around $800 right now. What would you do if you were in my shoes? Would you pull the trigger? Or would you wait until this year's iPhones drop? Edit: Apparently the phone is AT&T locked and a few replies prompted me to do some research. Gonna pass on it and keep looking. Might just stick with my backup Motorola e5 till the new iPhones are out. Thanks everyone! [link] [comments]
