    So if you are OCD like me, you have probably been worried about leftover jailbreak files carrying into future iOS versions via iCloud backup. Tweaks have zero accountability for the files and directories they create, and there is no way to control them. I pulled out a spare device (iOS 11) determined to get some answers.

    So I created the following files/folders:

    /var/file.txt /var/root/file.txt /var/root/Library/Preferences/file.txt /var/containers/Bundle/Application/FOLDER /var/cache/file.txt /var/mobile/Documents/file.txt /var/mobile/file.txt /var/mobile/Library/FOLDER /var/mobile/Library/Preferences/file.txt

    I then backed up to iCloud, restored rootFS, and restored to the iCloud backup. I search for all the files I created again, and only found those located in */Preferences folders. Tried reset all settings. Here is where it got interesting. Reset settings has no effect on /var/root/Library/Preferences. It does clear files in /var/mobile/Library/Preferences, but anything that isn't a .plist will be given a .old extension, and left behind.

    This is good though. Most tweaks are competent enough to avoid /root (Looking at you iCleaner. Seriously, Saurik was right. Don't use it.), and short of intentionally doing it, random files should never end up in the preference folders anyway. Clean install is always nice, but if that's not an option for you, restore rootFS + reset settings will essentially get you back to stock with only your sandboxed data.

    Hope you found this informative. If anyone has any other findings I'd love to hear.

    [Tip] When utilizing the “Restore RootFS” option in the unc0ver jailbreak’s settings, make sure to toggle on “Restore RootFS” and untick all the other enabled options.

    I have seen many posts on this subreddit of users wondering why their device gives them an "Unable to Check for Update" error message after using the "Restore RootFS" option in unc0ver.

    This is because you need to untick all options that were enabled by default by the jailbreak, and then only toggle on the "Restore RootFS" option. The settings pane should look like this. After you have done that, go to the main menu and press "Restore RootFS."

    Once that has been completed, you can ensure that unc0ver actually fully reverted the changes it made to your device, and then you will be able to update your device OTA using Settings > General > Software Update.

    I don't know why you cannot simply toggle on "Restore RootFS," leave all other options as-is, and have unc0ver fully revert the device to how it was before first jailbreaking it.

    This is the only working solution as of now. Hope this helps!

    [Tutorial] How to Save SHSH2 Blobs for Unsigned IOS 8.4.1 for downgrading

    As you know OTA Downgrade to IOS 8.4.1 has been patched because at the moment when you click install button nothing happens. But we can still save SHSH2 Blobs for this version because apple only patch Ota downgrade in settings but the version is still OTA signed and we can fetch SHSH2 Blobs from this OTA. So let's get started.

    Requirements:

    -iPhone 4s, iPod touch 5 , iPad mini 1 or iPad 2 , iPhone 5 (for other devices it will not work) (device need be jailbroken)

    -Mac Computer

    -tsschecker

    -pwned iBSS in / and Kloader in / (pwned iBSS works only for specific model) You can get pwned iBSS using Odysseus look at some tutorials if you don't pwned iBSS)

    -Open SSH (Available in Cydia)

    -"Apple File Conduit 2" (Available in Cydia) to have root acces in afc2 connection (cable connection) on computer to drag Kloader and pwned iBSS

    1. SSH to your device

    Open Terminal and type: ssh root@device IP address

    to accès ssh connection computer and iDevice should be connected to the same network

    1. type: cd .. enter again type: cd.. and type:ls and now make sure Kloader and pwned iBSS is located here

    2. make sure Kloader have permission type: ./kloader if you have permission denied type: chmod 777 kloader (make sure you are in /)

    3. make sure pwned iBSS name is iBSS

    4. type: ./kloader iBSS (make sure you are in / because you will get directory error)

    6.If your device goes black you entered pwned DFU Mode

    7.Go to iTunes and if your device is not recognised tap home button few times and it will make your device recognized

    1. Now open a new tab in terminal and enter TSS CHECKER directory that we download after that type cd and drag the TSS CHECKER folder to terminal

    2. Now type: ./tsschecker_macos -e (your device ECID here) -i 8.4.1 -d (your device model for example iPhone4,20) -o -s

    3. After you enter command process should start NOW WAIT AFTER IT FINISH 9 (it can take up to 15 minutes) after it finish in TSS CHECKER directory you will have shsh2 blob that is for IOS 8.4.1 for your unique device

    I've tried missioncontrol, powermodules, and ccmodules. They all have the extra slow respring. I'd like to have access to the faster one like what happens after installing a tweak.

    [Request] A tweak to remove music player from lock screen when unplugging earphones

    I'm not sure this is even possible, but I'm certain this used to be possible on stock iOS ages ago. Whenever I'm listening to music, if I want to stop and clear the music player from the lock screen, I've got to unlock the phone, pause, then lock again.

    Would it be possible to recognise when earphones are unplugged and have the music player "drop" from the lock screen automatically to free it up for notifications?

    [Question]HELP - Hotspot Broken!!

    iPhone 8+ running iOS 12.0.1 on unc0ver semi tethered jb

    I got tired of having the annoying double sized blue banner anytime I had devices connected to my hotspot, so I went in search of a tweak to get rid of it.

    After some googling I settled on "TetherMe for iOS8+" which supports - you guessed it - iOS 8 - iOS 11. Now I know what you're thinking; aguythattakespics, why did you download something not compatible with your firmware?

    Well, some tweaks continue to work after their official firmwares supported, and I thought this might, so why not give it a shot? Bad, bad idea.

    Basically now my hotspot function is broken. Any device trying to connect will see the connection as available, but then fail to connect every time.

    Troubleshooting I've tried: Respring Reboot Clear UI cache Use iCleaner to get rid of junk files Reset password to hotspot

    On both other devices: Forget network and rejoin Reboot

    HOWEVER, FWIW, since this is a semi tethered jb, after a reboot it will be unjailbroken. When it isn't jailbroken, the hotspot function works like normal.

    I live in a place with no wifi at the moment and I need to be able to go online on my other devices at home. If anyone knows a plist or something I can edit to get this to work again outside of resetting my phone that'd be great. Thanks in advance!

    [Help] Help with wraith

    Im on ios 12.1.2 and I have a iPhone xs max, I downgraded snapchat to version to 10.55.1.1 and then installed the tweak wraith but when when i tap on snapchat it crashes? I dont have flex 3 im not sure whats causing it to crash. Can someone tell me exactly how to get it to work and has anyone been banned from snapchat using wraith? If there is any other alternative please let me know. Thanks!
