My dream has come true! #AppleWatch Posted: 07 May 2019 02:44 AM PDT Title. My dream has come true. I switched to iPhone last month to the XR, love the phone and all. But one of the reasons I switched was to get an Apple Watch. Picked up a Series 4 LTE for me and the wife this past weekend. My dream has come true, I can go to work and not need to bring my phone. I made it the entire day with 19% battery left while working the entire day with just my watch. Messages, emails and calls handled all day, while even taking a nice long walk during a break and tracking it via GPS. I left my phone at home. I even streamed music to my car via Bluetooth. This is the greatest thing since sliced bread. Cheers [link] [comments]
Posted: 06 May 2019 08:04 AM PDT watchOS 6: • Voice Memos, Apple Books (for listening to audiobooks), Calculator, and health apps 'Dose' and 'Cycles' for tracking medication and menstrual cycles. • New watch faces: There will be a new 'Gradient' face, a classic 'California' face with Roman and Arabic numerals, a 'Solar Analog' face that reportedly looks like a sundial, and an 'Infograph Subdial' face that features larger complications • New complications; battery status for hearing aids, a companion to the Books app for audiobooks playback, and more. I'm a newbie at the gym. Are there apps that guides you in exercises/routines? Posted: 07 May 2019 01:54 AM PDT So I started going to the gym and I love the Watch. I only use it to monitor the active cal and total cal burnt but I think it could do more than that. I mainly do cardio and some very basic lifting. I need suggestions for any apps that guide you with workouts that synergizes well between iPhone and Watch, just so I could avoid looking at my phone watching Youtube videos looking like a total nerd in the gym. Cannot stream music on watch when away from phone Posted: 07 May 2019 08:13 AM PDT I am having an issue with streaming music on my S4 LTE when away from my phone. I get an error saying there is no device capable of audio playback connected. I have the following: Apple Watch S4 LTE on Verizon WatchOS 5.2 Jabra Elite Sport headphones When searching the Apple support forums, I found this one from a couple of years ago with a work around but no real resolution: LINK I have contacted Apple support and they are escalating a case but do not know why this is happening. Is anyone else having this issue? [link] [comments]
Posted: 07 May 2019 05:24 AM PDT I love my Apple Watch but always forget to open my sleep monitoring app (Sleep Cycle). Is there a way to open an app automatically at a certain time/place ? [link] [comments]
Whatsapp for Cellular (LTE) Watch Posted: 07 May 2019 05:11 AM PDT Just got a Series 3 cellular to get away from my phone but still keep a handle on my life. I'm a week in - so far so good. only problem is Whatsapp, which in the UK is super ubiquitous. I've found that my phone pushes Whatsapp notifications to the watch when it's nearby and connected, but as soon as I'm roaming without iPhone that stops working. I've seen a few third party apps for Whatsapp but it looks like many will suffer from the same issue, and need the parent iPhone app nearby (that doesn't help me): so my question is: Best Whatsapp apps for cellular Watch so I can leave my phone at home? (happy to pay any price for the right app) [link] [comments]

Posted: 07 May 2019 03:28 AM PDT I've just got my first Apple Watch today. Very exciting! As a nurse- I'm wondering if there's any suggestions people have for apps that might benefit me? Also, has anyone come across a type of Fob strap that isn't totally ugly like the carabiners I've seen on eBay?? I can't wear my Watch on wrist like normal as we need to be 'bare below the elbows', no rings watches or bracelets etc. Thanks! [link] [comments]
Posted: 07 May 2019 02:28 AM PDT I've been trying to find a free app that allows to track water, connect with Apple Health and will sync when iPhone is not around. I've tried different apps as Water Balance or Water Balance: Water tracker but when I logged water taken (without iPhone around) and then paired with the iphone those apps wouldn't sync, just worked when iPhone was around. Possible I'd like something with caffeine too or tea but not mandatory. Any suggestions? [link] [comments]
Posted: 06 May 2019 09:29 AM PDT For example - I am listening to spotify while on my bike. I should be able to just feel my crown dial and turn it up or down to adjust the volume. Having to focus on opening the app and then adjusting the volume is annoying. Anyone to have it set up like that? [link] [comments]
Posted: 06 May 2019 11:42 PM PDT Hi! I'm aware that there's been a lot of post on it, but nothing quite recent, so I decided to make a post anyway. Yesterday I've decided to use Pillow for the very first time. My watch was at 98% when I went to bed and woke up with around 20% left, which had me shook. I was using Sleep Cycles + Alarm function, rise to wake was turned off and the theatre mode was on. What can cause that drainage? I can see people losing about 10-15% of the battery during the night. On the official Pillow website I've read that turning off the haptics on the watch may be helpful. Was also thinking about turning off Wi-Fi on both devices and Bluetooth connection on the phone and let the devices sync in the morning. Any tips? I have an AW4 (for around 3 weeks now) and an XS and they're both running the latest software. The app was also updated yesterday I believe. [link] [comments]
Pomodoro or task timer app recommendations Posted: 06 May 2019 05:20 PM PDT I enjoyed using the app Forest on the iPhone to time different tasks as it really keeps you engaged. Unfortunately the Watch app is disappointing to say the least. One app that seems to be well made is an app called Focus, but the pro version is a bit expensive ($5/month). What are some of the best alternatives? Ideally something that helps to categorize tasks inside the timer has cross-platform syncing capability. [link] [comments]

Posted: 06 May 2019 07:33 PM PDT How do I do it? ETA: Force Touch (wasn't even familiar with it.) in the activity app. Google is your friend! [link] [comments]
AW S3 won‘t turn on after screen replacement Posted: 06 May 2019 10:49 PM PDT Hello everybody, I hope someone can give me advice. My Apple Watch Series 3 Cellular does not turn on after swapping the display. However, short vibrations are sometimes noticeable while trying to start up; so I still have hope. It worked fine before I removed the original display, except for the cracked screen. I can exclude that the new display is defective, because it works on another watch. Also, I've leaved the watch for several hours on the charger. I already tried a hard reset with and without charging cable. What could be the reason? To exchange the watch with Apple is not an option for me, considering the cost. I am grateful for any help. [link] [comments]
Does the Apple Watch 4 call 911 if my heart stops in my sleep? Posted: 06 May 2019 06:39 PM PDT The sos description in the watch app doesn't really state if the watch can detect the heart stopping in your sleep. I know it detects lack of movement after a fall but can it detect lack of heart beat while sleeping ? [link] [comments]
Posted: 06 May 2019 06:29 PM PDT I know this is most likely generic but I have a question. My birthday is soon and I'm kind of on a budget but I'm very interested in picking up an Apple Watch for workout and music purposes while on the go. I want as cheap as possible but I don't want to sacrifice a ton of performance. If anyone owns one of the models, or two perhaps, then is it worth it to go the extra mile for the series 4? Or stick to the series 3 if I'm a first timer. Thanks guys [link] [comments]
Battery Drain Overnight Series 4 44mm Posted: 06 May 2019 06:23 PM PDT How much does your battery drain overnight if you sleep with it on? Mine is on theater mode and drops about 16 to 18%. Seems very high. If I lay it on my bedside table it only drops 6 to 8%. Regular use during the day it seems like it drops 2-3% per hour. Is this pretty standard/normal? [link] [comments]
What would it take for you to upgrade from a Series 4 to 5? Posted: 06 May 2019 10:28 AM PDT Personally I've owned every watch expect the S0 and this is first one that's felt legimately complete. The only two things that would get me to upgrade this year are 5GHZ WiFi on the watch and better battery life. I don't know if it's just my use case or whatever but I've never gotten 2 days out of S4 like a lot of you do. My S3 honestly had better battery life and if they get it back to that then I'd upgrade. Otherwise, I'm pretty content with my watch. [link] [comments]
Question about an Apple Watch S3 Nike+ Posted: 06 May 2019 05:54 PM PDT Hello Apple Watch community, im new here so if i made mistakes while making this post im sorry. My question is about an Apple Watch Series 3 Nike+ im about to buy. Everything seems in order with the watch except the back where the 4 circles (sensors?) are placed. They look like the ones from the series 2 even thought it is written on the case that is a Series 3. Is this a red flag that the watch might be a fraud or repaired/changed?The price is around 190 bucks in my country's currency( there are more watches at around the same price so im not too worried about the low price). Here is the picture of the back of the watch AW S3 N+ Thank you. P.S: if i made any mistakes while posting or spelling im sorry :) [link] [comments]
Gold Stainless Steel - Thinking of returning Posted: 06 May 2019 04:23 PM PDT I bought the Gold Stainless Steel Apple Watch. It's really nice but I just don't know if I can justify the price and am thinking of returning and getting the "gold" aluminum. Thoughts? [link] [comments]
Series 3 Hermes Launch Price/Bands? Posted: 06 May 2019 04:15 PM PDT I've been trying to find somewhere that showed the prices and band combos that launched with the Series 3 Hermes watch. Does anybody have this info or somewhere I can look it up? Thanks! [link] [comments]
Anyone else think it's bullshit how fast Apple Watches are declining in performance? Posted: 06 May 2019 10:42 PM PDT I bought the series 2 thinking it would be an ironed out version of the S0 that would last a long time, just like the iPad 2. Except... it's not working out that way. When I got it just TWO years ago, it was lightning fast, just as fast as an S4 today in most respects. Wrist raise was instant. Battery life was superb (2-3 days, although I understand the degradation in this instance). Loading up complications was instant. Now just two years later with watchOS 5, things are bad. Wrist raises often take a long time. Complications take forever to update. Third-party apps? Forget about it. Just like S0 owners experienced, our watches have essentially been reduced to notification and workout machines (oh yeah, starting a workout takes forever). Anyone else think this is absolutely unacceptable? The S3 will likely suffer the same fate in about four months time with watchOS 6, to put it in perspective for anyone with an S3. An iPhone 7, released at around the same time as the S2, is still lightning fast. But most S2 owners are now already eying the S5 due to how slow our devices have gotten. [link] [comments]
Thinking about getting an Apple Watch but have some questions? Posted: 06 May 2019 06:22 PM PDT I have been thinking about purchasing an Apple Watch. Haven't owned a smart watch or anything before so I'm not all quite sure what's involved outside of knowing the basic functionality. I already own an iPhone, so my question is, does it need to be paired with my phone plan in order for me to get the most out of it? I have cricket and heard it doesn't support the Apple Watch so what would I be able to do without having the cellular with it? I wasn't planning on getting the cellular since it would be pointless if I can't have it on my plan. Does it work through Bluetooth or do I need an active WiFi connection to do anything on the watch? Can I respond to text messages, take call and use the maps also? What all would I be able to do? [link] [comments] |
