MacBook Air 2017 Base Model for iOS development?

    Posted: 30 Jan 2019 10:20 PM PST

Considering the defects in the latest MacBooks, I have changed my mind and thinking to get a MacBook Air 2017 and wait for the the MacBooks redesign. Also, there are no Apple Stores and I can't claim official Apple warranty. I can't take any risk of buying an expensive whose keyboard is going to break. My question is the MacBook Air 2017 is enough powerful for iOS development. I tend to use this device Atleast an year. I'm getting a Brandnew in around 700$. What do you guys suggest?

    Macbook Pro 2017 - 5.1 Audio Output

    Posted: 30 Jan 2019 05:19 PM PST

Someone told me to use mini toslink to toslink to adapter to get 5.1 output and I ordered one. Later, I found out that they have discontinued Optical audio output in recent Macs.

I have one 5.1 home theatre which supports both Toslink IN and Co-axial Audio IN for surround sounds. Is there a way to get 5.1 audio from my macbook?

MacBook Air 2018 or wait until next year?

    Posted: 30 Jan 2019 09:50 AM PST

Hey all. I keep hearing news that the current line of MacBooks have issues with the keyboard and another major issue that will increase the likelihood of repairs down the road (something to do with screen wires?). I don't absolutely need a MacBook Air right now as I have an iPad Pro..... curious if it's better to wait until next year when they hopefully fix these issues? Or just buy now?

Weird WiFi connectivity problems 2017 MacBook Pro

    Posted: 30 Jan 2019 07:41 AM PST

So recently I've had some issues at my school connecting to the WiFi. It's a college so it's not like a high school blocking non district devices or anything from getting on their network. It has worked since August until last week.

Here's what happens: I open the MacBook and open safari. Can not connect to the internet. I go to WiFi settings and try to connect to the networks. They show up as available. I click on the network and it will ask me for my keychain password, I enter that and then it tells me I can't connect to the network right now.

I have tried deleting the network from my remembered networks. I have reset the Mac and restarted etc. Not really sure what else to do. Any questions ask in a comment I'll try to answer

Macbook air(2017) EFI password screen shows even on normal boot

    Posted: 30 Jan 2019 07:49 AM PST

Someone gave me a macbook to try to fix and it has an efi password.I know it can't be removed, but I'm just puzzled that it shows without me holding anything, I know it should show up when i try to open the boot picker or recovery or anything else, but it shows up whenever i power it on, I have a macbook pro myself and the password screen only shows up when i try to use the bootpicker or recovery.

EDIT: I gave the guy's mac back and told him I can't really do anything,it's probably stolen, I posted this just for curiosity's sake, I wanted to know why the efi password kicked in so early.

    Do MacBooks have download restrictions?

    Posted: 30 Jan 2019 07:13 AM PST

Old windows laptop died so I decided to order the newest MacBook, since I have all Apple electronics. I'm wondering if the safari has download restrictions? Like on my windows I could download any applications , pretty much anything off of the internet, the same way an android phone could download anything off the internet unlike an iPhone. Does a MacBook have those same restrictions? If so I'll be really upset.

Edit: how many USB ports does the MacBook come with too? Just to transfer pics or charge my phone, I plan on getting a video camera too so I want to make sure it has enough ports I can plug that in and download the videos onto the laptop, or if I can plug more than one item in. Thanks.

MacBook Air 2017 128GB 8GB for 650$ Brandnew for iOS development?

    Posted: 30 Jan 2019 06:29 AM PST

I was planning to get a MacBook Pro 15 2018, but due to current issues I'm thinking to avoid it. But I need a Mac Machine. I live in a country where there are no Apple Stores and Service Centers. I can't claim warranty or anything. At the moment I just need a reliable machine and new MacBook Pros are not at all reliable. What do you suggest? Also, the MacBook Pro 2012-2015 are pretty expensive here.
