New iPhone XS Max and Car Stereo microphone/audio issues Posted: 30 Jan 2019 05:49 PM PST I just bought at an iPhone XS Max recently. It is my first iPhone. I am on the latest firmware (12.1.3). I have an issue with my phone and my car stereo head unit, a Pioneer DEH-X8500BS: Siri can hear me, but her voice does not play through my car's speakers. Voice to text (using the keyboard's microphone feature) does not detect my voice at all. The audio wave line thingy is completely flat while my phone is listening. Things to note: During the period when Siri seems to be speaking back to me, my stereo head unit's Bluetooth device icon blinks. Taking and receiving calls works flawlessly. Google assistant works flawlessly in Google Maps. Music and video apps work flawlessly. My previous phone (LG V20) did not have any similar issues with the same stereo head unit. What I have tried with no positive results: Re-pairing my phone. Restarting my phone. Turning Bluetooth on and off. Why does it always feel like after the first year and after, iPhones start acting up with weird bugs ? Posted: 30 Jan 2019 12:30 PM PST I have a 7 Plus and I wasn't planning on buying a new iPhone. I've had it for 2 years now. Lately my phone has been acting up like CRAZY. The touchscreen will random stop working and I can't tap on anything so I need to force quit the app (like settings for example). The Bluetooth signal gets weak in my car and the audio comes out distorted when I never had any issues for the past 2 years. The screen randomly turns black and the only way to get it back to normal is to activate Siri. Why do iPhones age so poorly? Is it the hardware degrading over time ? Or are the new software updates too harsh on it? Or something else? FYI I also replaced the battery through the Apple program and I thought this would prolong and keep the phone running well. iPhone X won’t shut off using buttons Posted: 30 Jan 2019 11:54 AM PST I can shut it down after going to Settings>General, but not holding down the button combo. All buttons on the phone work fine on their own, and I can take a screenshot. In addition, I have 2 voicemails I can't listen to because I go to the Phone app with my favorites, keypad, voicemail and it turns up white, freezes and won't let me switch to voicemail, and if it does I can't press on each voicemail to play them. submitted by /u/h2k13 [link] [comments]
