Yesterday I went to replace my iPhone’s battery and they gave me a new device. Posted: 25 Dec 2018 11:32 PM PST So yesterday, I went to my Apple repair center with an intention of replacing my iPhone X battery for free while it's still under warranty. I went there before to see if I was eligible for a free replacement and already had a service report of my battery. My battery had a level of 88% after 10 months of use and they were willing to replace it for free. However, they told me I was unable to get my phone back on the same day. I started to think if whether I could leave with my battery being on 88% and just forget the replacement. The guy who was doing the diagnostics went in to the repair room to ask the repair guys again. He came back out saying " I think it's easier if we just give you a new phone if you want your device back by today." So, I quickly just bought 50GB of iCloud storage and backed up my phone on the spot while it was plugged in at the counter and went for lunch, when I came back, they took less than 30 mins to check if my current device was water damaged or not and proceed to give me a brand new IPhone X with a warranty of 3 more months which will add another extra month to my original 12 months. So thanks Apple again for the excellent service and the free new iPhone for Christmas! [link] [comments]
iPhone X battery replacement (89%) Posted: 26 Dec 2018 01:44 PM PST I bought an iPhone X in March of this year and recently checked that the the maximum capacity has now reached 89%. Am I a heavy user?? By the looks of it yes I am. I'm seeing a lot of post about the iPhone replacement program and was thinking about getting a new battery for $29 before the prices go back up, I don't think I will be getting a new iPhone next year. I'm leaning towards not getting the battery switch but that 29 dollar price point is changing my mind... thoughts? [link] [comments]
Brand new iphone X has a pretty apparent “burn in” ... what to do? Posted: 25 Dec 2018 09:23 PM PST Hey r/iphonex So I bought this brand new Iphone X last week and I love it so far. When the clerk at the store set it up, we noticed that it the battery was dead out of the box. I thought that was odd since phones nowadays comes with like 50-70% battery. Today, while setting up my alarm, I noticed that the lower half of my screen is a lot less dark than the upper half. On apps like alarm, reddit on even a plain black picture, I can see a "burn in" that makes the upper half super dark and the lower half more of a (very) dark grey. Note that its only happarent while browsing on a dark app. Is it something I should be worried about? Should I try to return it or is there no way that this can get worse? I don't really mind honnestly, I just dont want mu screen to die. [link] [comments]
Phone still makes sounds while it's in silent mode Posted: 26 Dec 2018 06:18 AM PST My iPhoneX still makes sounds when the switch on the side is red and the volume is turned all the way down. Notifications and calls still play and the keyboard makes the typing sound. And this is all happening at what sounds like full volume. I've also watched as my phone is completely idle, no one touching it, no apps running in the background and the ringer/volume square flashes on the screen. I'm super frustrated with it, the only way to shut it up is to power the phone down. Any idea what is going on?? I took it to the ATT store where I purchased it and they had never seen this before. I guess the next step is go to the Apple Store, but the nearest one is about an hour away so I'd rather troubleshoot from home if I can. [link] [comments]
Contacts disappeared from my Contacts.. Posted: 26 Dec 2018 04:52 AM PST Excuse me for the simplicity of this but I just don't know what to do. Prior to the update that just released iOS 12.1.2 a huge portion of my contacts on my phone disappeared. (iPhoneX.) I figured it was the update making my phone act up due to not having done it. I did the update and wouldn't you know it, still no contacts. I've checked around and was recommended to restore my phone and it's last back up. Worked perfectly. My contacts were back and now this morning...gone again. Can anyone assist? Am I doing something wrong? Thank you for the help. R [link] [comments]
