    Apple Pencil 2 scratching the screen?

    So I recently bought the new iPad Pro 11" together with an Apple Pencil 2. My friend at school owns an iPad Pro 10.5" and he warned me that I should be careful when using the new pencil, because his Apple Pencil (1. Gen) scratched his iPad display. I didnˋt find anything related to this being a problem with the new Apple Pencil, so I thought I might get some answers here. I also thought about buying a screen protector, but as I am writing this, there are no protectors that allow FaceID to work properly.

    Is there any chance for the pencil to scratch the display of my iPad? At the moment I am afraid of using the pencil, because I donˋt want to take risks until I am sure that it wonˋt cause any scratching.

    Can anyone show (or link) me to a picture showing the iPad Pro 11 vs one of the 9.7" ipads? I want to see how much more screen space is available and no where around me has any iPad Pro 11s at the moment.

    How to map the "Alt" key to Smart Keyboard Folio?

    Hi Everyone,

    So I use the smart keyboard folio with my iPad pro and I often connect to my unix box via Citrix Workspace. The "Alt" key is very important for me to work efficiently. Does anyone know how I can remap a key and make it an "alt" key? Thanks!

    PDF reader/editor that allows for quick bookmarking of pages and extraction/printing of bookmarked pages?

    As part of my job, I review thousands of pages of PDF documents. Until now, this involved printing out the PDFs, selecting particularly pertinent pages and setting those aside in a separate pile, and thowing away the remainder of the pages (often 95%+ of the pages).

    The idea going forward is to conduct this process in a paperless manner. For this to work, I need to be able to designate pages from a large PDF (1,000 pages+) to be included in a PDF I generate at the end of my review. The resulting PDF will consist of approximately 50 pages.

    One way to do this is via bookmarking the pages I wish to retain, provided the PDF reader has a way to extract/print bookmarked pages. However, given the the number of pages I am reviewing, this needs to be a quick process, preferably involving nothing more than dragging and dropping a bookmark icon or selecting a bookmark icon while viewing page. If bookmarking a page requires opening a menu, then selecting another icon and/or typing, that likely will not work.

    I am also open to other ideas, so feel free to share. Given my intended use, I am somewhat price insensitive, so feel free to suggest non-free options.

    Microsoft office apps - word/outlook/excel do they support split view?

    I'm finding search results in google that state these apps support split view, but no matter how I try to open Word along with Outlook or Safari etc it doesn't work. I drag up from the dock and the only thing that happens is Word comes into focus full screen. I can successfully use Safari and Messages in split screen and replace messages with photos etc.... so I think I understand how to open the apps in split view ok, just can't seem to get outlook/word together which is a main desire of mine. Any tips would be fantastic, or tell me it wont work so I can quit trying :)

    Edit 3 SOLVED - I was able to resolve this by doing a complete reset, I.e. Erase and rest all settings.

    Who is still using a mini 2 with no/low complaints?

    I just paid 100 for a like new condition mini 2, and it's coming in the mail today. Just wondering if it's good for YouTube, Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, reddit, and Facebook?

    Luna Display

    Man, I am so hyped about the Luna Display Product. I just got mine in and used my iPad Pro 12.9 as the main display for my MacBookPro during a client meeting and was manipulating Adobe XD with absolute ease with gestures and the pencil just enhanced the experience! I wanna make a video to show how I got it working later but for now Imma enjoy this new toy.

    Has anyone tried other USB C chargers? I have my Anker one that I use for my Macbook Pro.

    I read all the jazz about non-certified chargers and cables and whatnot being an issue that could damage the new iPads so curious to know if there would be issues using my particular non-Apple charger.

    Unable to use space bar to unlock iPad Pro with Smart Keyboard attached

    At some point during the last week the Face ID and double tap space bar to unlock combo stopped working. I've dug around for settings which I may have accidentally modified but can't see anything glaringly obvious. Anyone had a similar issue?

    Also FWIW, the space bar on my Smart Keyboard has always felt a little strange. The tactile feedback isn't very uniform and I need to use more force than the other keys to ensure the space bar always registers when clicking in the center. I haven't used any other Smart Keyboards though so this may be normal.

    iPad Pro as Console monitor?

    With the inclusion of the usb-C port, do you think there will be a way to use an hdmi to usb c adapter to use the iPad as a monitor for a switch or ps4?

    I know there are apps to second screen a computer to the iPad but not one as a stand-alone hdmi monitor as of yet.

    Currently lugging around a much bigger and heavier hori portable monitor and the iPad would be 1000x better if this could work properly.

    Otter box symmetry 360 case (11 inch)

    Does anyone have this case yet or know if it magnetically attaches to the back when you fold the front over for viewing purposes like the Apple smart folio does? This is pretty convenient so it's not loosely hanging in the back and one of the reasons I returned the UAG metropolis case

    To me this is a deal breaker. Why in this day and age you can not connect an external HD to your ipad is beyond me. Has Apple ever said why they make this decision?

    I know you can use stupid workarounds to do this, but this should not have to happen. It is not a technical reason. I doubt it is related to money although almost every decision is related to money. There has to be a reason other than alienating people like me or irritating others. Any ideas?

    First time iPad owner for university, any good apps for note taking?

    So, I brought the new iPad 12.9 for university to write over lecture slides and to make notes in general.

    I've heard notability is good, which I've brought and has support for the new double tap on Apple pencil too.

    Is there any other good note taking, pdf/ppt importing apps which you can write over and/ or for note making?

    I'm also looking for an app which I can import a file like pdf doc or ppt and write on the side of each slide/page as much as I want. Notability doesn't let you do that as far as I've tried out

    Is it possible to move everything at a certain position downwards? Like if you want to insert something in the middle?

    I know that there is the cut tool, but I can't scroll completely to the bottom while cutting (?)

    Has anyone else noticed that since the update Netflix is now eating through your battery life? Usually Netflix is pretty easy on my battery, but today I was watching for a few hours and it pulled my battery down into the 40% range. I was worried at first that there was something wrong with my iPad, but it is fine when watching YouTube or using other apps. Netflix continues to pose a problem, even after a delete and reinstall. I'd like to know if anyone else is having a problem before I reset my entire iPad; if it's a problem with the app they need to know.
