iPhone 6S Died and Now Wants to Re-Activate Posted: 11 Oct 2018 10:01 PM PDT My iPhone 6S was working fine and died due to drained battery. When I plugged it in, it turned back on with the "Hello" screen. It asked me to connect to Wi-Fi or use cellular data to activate my phone. I've tried connecting to both, and tried two different, strong Wi-Fi networks, but it quickly goes to a screen that says "Activation Error". I've tried turning it off and on a few times and occasionally my lockscreen flickers in the background, so I know nothing has been deleted yet. Does anybody know how to fix this without losing any data? It wouldn't be as big of an issue if I had everything backed up, but for what ever reason I've never been able to get iCloud backup to work. No audio from iPhone XS internal headset, external speaker/headphones is fine. Posted: 11 Oct 2018 09:49 PM PDT Hello, I have a 256gb iPhone XS and everything was working great until today when I bought an Apple Watch 4. I paired it to the iPhone and it works just fine, but now whenever I get a call I have NO audio from the iPhone's headset. I can only hear audio from the iPhone's external speaker, the Apple Watch's speaker or a headset. I also use Bose Soundsport Wireless Headsets and I used all three together while going on a bike ride earlier. I've reset the device, both soft and also to factory conditions. I also changed "call audio routing" in accessibility from automatic to speaker and back and forth and turning of bluetooth, etc. It's just so strange because when I make a call its not like its distorted or low volume, theres just nothing through the internal headset. I can click the speaker icon to make it output through the external speakers and also my apple watch/headphones just fine. I feel like its a software bug or something. Any ideas? I have an appointment at the Genius Bar on Sat. Also, if they can't fix it when I'm there will they give me a replacement phone? I have applecare+. The phone is less than 2 weeks old, I never dropped it or mishandled it once. [link] [comments] |
iPhone 5s Terrible Battery Life Posted: 11 Oct 2018 08:22 PM PDT I recently bought an iPhone 5s from someone and it's on 9.3.2. 3uTools and Battery Life both say the battery is at 90% health but it'll drain super fast sitting idle in less than 6 hours. I've hard reset it using unmentionable means to keep it on 9.3.2 but the battery issue persists. Is it the ios? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 11 Oct 2018 07:24 PM PDT i'm not sure exactly why this is happening. is it just it being an old phone? Recently updated to the newest ios. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 11 Oct 2018 05:15 PM PDT Hi... I got a new XS and I wanted to set it up with the backup from my iPhone 8 on iTunes so I don't need to re-enter all of my passwords. After going through the setup procedure, of course the new phone is one software revision behind. So after updating it, I tried to restore it from my backup over iTunes - but it just stuck on step 3 for over a half hour (I only have 32GB of data on my phone). So, I ejected. I tried to reconnect and back up - and it told my that Find My Phone needed to be turned off on the phone. But it's just a white screen - I cant get into the phone. Now I can't even turn it off. Any help, and I'd be very grateful! Thank you! [link] [comments] |
If I buy a used iphone, will it's Apple Care transfer over? Posted: 11 Oct 2018 03:57 PM PDT Currently interested in buying this phone linked below. Seller states that the apple Care is linked to the phone and does not need to be transferred to any type of profile/user/account. Is this true? [link] [comments] |
How to backup phone with cracked screen and no working button? Posted: 11 Oct 2018 02:04 PM PDT I'm not an iPhone user, trying to help a coworker. They broke the phone. The screen is completely shattered, can't see anything. The Home button doesn't work. there is a pin code. So when they try to hook it up to the computer it's asking to authorize the computer on the phone's screen, but it's broken. Do they have any option besides having the screen fixed/replaced? Posted: 11 Oct 2018 12:03 PM PDT I'm using an iPhone 8, running iOS12. Lately, I've had issues with the phone app. Whenever I open it, it opens to the favourites screen. When I touch any other button (ie Recents), it will not switch screens. Any time I want to make a call, I have to reboot the phone to be able to do so. Anyone else running into this issue or have any ideas how to fix it? [link] [comments] |

Disable high speed data and use high speed to save my high speed Posted: 11 Oct 2018 07:58 AM PDT I have an iPhone 7, under AT&T Prepaid or "GoPhone", I want to disable my high speed and use low speed to preserve the little bit of high speed I do have left. How do I go about doing this and will it stop me from running out of high speed data? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 11 Oct 2018 06:56 AM PDT Hello all, last night ios 12.0.1 was acting a little buggy so I decided to do a reset/restore. During the process I got an error 14 so I changed cables now all I get is "Error 4000" during the restore process. I have tried DFU mode, (same error), different computers, different USB ports and cables no dice. Anyone get the same problem and if so a solution? [link] [comments] |
Download iCloud-Photos onto my iPhone Posted: 11 Oct 2018 06:47 AM PDT Hey, so I got a new iPhone 7 as a replacement for my old 7, as it had a display issue. On that old iPhone I had "iCloud Photos" turned on with the option Optimize iPhone Storage, which keeps low-res copies of you photos on your phone and downloads the original one once you need it. Before the replacement I did an iTunes backup of my old iPhone. Yesterday I got my new one and set it up with that iTunes backup. Everything worked fine except that it started downloading the full versions of all the photos, even though the Optimize iPhone Storage option was turned on. So i turned iCloud photos off, which deleted all the iCloud photos (saying they will remain on iCloud) and then turned it back on, expecting it to download everything again, but in the "optimized" low-res format. But that didn't happen. The photos don't how up anymore on my phone. They still exist on icloud.com but I can't access from my photos app. Do you have any clue how I can get my iPhone to download those photos again? Unfortunately I already deleted my iTunes backup and my old phone is already factory-resetted and soon on its way to Apple. I (think) still have the iCloud backup of my old iPhone though. Thanks!
