Notification on Settings Icon Won’t Go Away After iOS 12.0.1 Update Posted: 09 Oct 2018 04:55 PM PDT I upgraded my iPhone X to iOS 12.0.1 last night. When the phone restarted after the update, there was a notification on the settings icon, the standard red circle with "1" in it. When I open Settings, there's nothing to indicate what the notification is trying to call my attention to. The update seems to have installed successfully. My phone has been backed up recently. All of the settings are what they were before the update. Everything appears to be functioning fine, but the notification won't go away. I tried a reset. I tried logging out and back in to iCloud. I did another backup. Nothing works. Is anyone else experiencing this problem? Has anyone been able to fix it? [link] [comments] |
[Help] iPhone 6 screen won't turn on, but backlight works Posted: 09 Oct 2018 02:35 PM PDT I bought an iPhone 6 off off Ebay, thinking I could fix it. Seller says that the phone won't turn on (blue screen), suddenly, after an update. My laptop (Windows 8.1) recognises the phone, but serial number can't be read on iTunes and when I try updating/restoring the phone I get error messages. I've had error 14, 4005, 4013, 4015. I've tried restoring via iTunes and the Apple servers and I've tried restoring to iOS 12 via a donwload off off ipsw.me. The files get unpacked, put on the phone and then after rebooting the phone it throws an error. Could this really be a problem caused by an update or did the seller drop the phone making it a hardware related problem instead of a software related problem? images and screenshots: https://pasteboard.co/HHH96yf.png https://pasteboard.co/HHHaeFJ.png https://pasteboard.co/HHH9bCs.png [link] [comments] |
Posted: 09 Oct 2018 12:31 PM PDT Ever since I've had my iPhone 6S, battery life has been a joke. I took it to the Apple store last year where they confirmed it was suffering from a bad battery, but even after they replaced it I've been having to charge twice a day for what I'd consider 'regular' use. I do run it jailbroken but even in stock mode the battery drains to about 10% within 6hrs of standard use (web, social media, etc) and that's with things like brightness turned way down. Power apps like BatteryLife tell me it's actually only a 1500 mAh battery (for some reason?!), and list the current health/capacity of the battery as only 87%. I'm now wondering whether purchasing a 3rd-party higher capacity battery would be a sensible idea or whether they're likely to explode in my pocket or burn my house down while I sleep....!! I've found ones like this 2200mAh one or even this 3080mAh (!!) one that seem to be pretty cheap, so wondering whether anyone's had experience with swapping these out? I've taken plenty of iPhones apart before, so I'm not too concerned about the process, just more that it might catch on fire somewhere further down the road....?? [link] [comments] |
Will I lose all the pics and vids on my phone if I do a factory reset and erase all contents? Posted: 09 Oct 2018 10:53 AM PDT I'm currently upgrading my 5s to an 8 and need to erase the entire data of my phone before I surrender it. My worry is about the large number of pics which I have on my phone. While I've uploaded them all on icloud, if I delete any pic from my phone it gets deleted from the cloud as well. So if I do a factory reset, am I gonna lose all pics despite having them on icloud? [link] [comments] |
