iPad Pro (2017) Display vs iPad Pro (2015) Display Posted: 11 Oct 2018 07:32 AM PDT I was considering buying a refurbed iPad Mini 2 until I was in a store and saw the display on the newest iPad Pro. I was floored and fell in love. Does the older version 9.7 iPad Pro (2015) have the same display minus the enlargement? I promise I searched and don't feel confident that I understand the difference in real world scenario... The thing that really got me was the brightness and clarity. Hard to know how the specs translate into that. Also if anyone with experience wants to throw out some other noteworthy comparisons feel free. [link] [comments]
Looking for an minimalist iPad sleeve with organization. Posted: 11 Oct 2018 11:13 AM PDT I recently bought the Techfolio from Waterfield bags. It's well made and good looking but pricy and overkill to just throw in a bag. Does anyone have a suggestion for something that has a spot for pens, a charger and some other items that is also slim and durable? Was looking and the iPad EDC pouch from Cargoworks which is half the price. Edit: some letters [link] [comments]

The thing is I wanna teach or make mathematics and computer science (subjective, not programming) tutorials and put it on YouTube. So, how I cam achieve this with iPad and pencil only as I don't have a DSLR camera. Moreover I've mac if that can help with the iPad. Thank you ✌🏼 [link] [comments]
Using iPad Pro as the daily device? Posted: 11 Oct 2018 09:22 AM PDT I got all the devices you can think of in life from MBP to Surface in my house. Something though has been bothering me to the point where I'm going a bit mad: I'm paying for a cellular plan w/my iPad but my iPad ain't what it used to be. It's time to lay it down to sleep. My mentality: I could invest in an iPad Pro (I know, wait for the new offering first...), slap on a keyboard, and use it as my daily device. MBP could be given to my wife, Surface could be "retired", iPad "retired", and this monthly charge for cellular service is useful again. The plan I believe is now discontinued and the new plan doesn't give as much as the previous or something like that. My question: is that keyboard good to use? Is staring at an enlarged iPad screen as good as a '15 MBP? Can I sit the keyboard/iPad in my lap and do work? That's the biggest issue my wife particularly has with her surface....garbage when not on a table. I figure the main things I need in life I could probably still easily do: reach my printer and print documents, reach my router, and use word/excel app for my simple work. Is this a daily device type of machine or is this a "well, if you don't have a laptop nearby....." like the surface? [link] [comments]
Drawboard PDF alternative for iPad Posted: 11 Oct 2018 07:17 AM PDT So i used to have an Surface 3 for the university and i switched to an Ipad and need a comparable app. Short summary what I loved about drawboard pdf, it takes the big PDFs directly from the cloud and every change you make get directly synchronized with the cloud. So you can see and change the pdf with different devises. I tried notability, but it doesn't have the instant synchronization future and just makes a copy for itself. I don't use the pen that much, so handwriting features aren't that important to me, though Drawboard was here good as well. So what App is the best app in this case? [link] [comments]
Posted: 11 Oct 2018 09:48 AM PDT Hi everyone, I just bought an iPad Pro 10.5" and I am struggling to find the right case for my needs. I am a student so I will use it for note taking with the Apple Pencil. I personally prefer to sacrifice some protection to have a thin, elegant case. At the moment I don't need a keyboard, maybe one day I will buy a bluetooth one. First I found the Moshi Versacover, probably the best looking case I've seen so far, but there are two problems:
Another one I liked is the famous ZUGU Prodigy X, which has very good materials but seems a bit bulky to me. It also has a problem with the surface that covers the screen: when you unfold it goes face down and picks up the dirt on the surface it is resting on. At the moment I am debating between these two, do you know any better solutions? [link] [comments]
Planning to buy my 1st iPad in the next week. Should I wait until the new one is released? Posted: 11 Oct 2018 02:39 AM PDT I'm planning to buy my first iPad (which will also be my 1st Apple product ever) in the next week. I had settled on the 12.9" iPad Pro 64GB (WiFi only) along with a smart keyboard. It's basically going to be my laptop replacement (I've been using the same Dell since 2010). Going through the sub I've seen that there's going to be a new iPad launch later this month and all rumours indicate that this new model is a significant leap forward. Should I wait, then? Price is a key factor for me. I had budgeted for my current plan for an iPad plus smart keyboard and insurance at around INR 85,000 (US$1,200). Will the new one be significantly more expensive? Will the release of a new model lead a drop in prices for the one I was planning to get? I'm a total Apple noob, so sorry if this seems like a ridiculously simple post. [link] [comments]
Bypassing Photos app and transferring photos from iPad Pro to Mac Posted: 11 Oct 2018 05:14 AM PDT I apologize if this has been answered before - I have searched but not found what I'm looking for. I will be cross-posting this to the Mac forum in the hopes that someone there may have the answer. I've been using iPads for years, but just recently switched from Windows to Mac and am struggling to manage my photos. I shoot in raw, and with the card reader often import and edit my photos in Affinity on the iPad, and then I would like to copy them to specific folders on the Mac. The Photos app on the Mac is very frustrating to me and I'd like to avoid it. I like to organize my photos in a standard Windows Explorer-type structure with folders and sub-folders, separating jpegs and raw. I've got my folder structure set up in Finder and have organized my archived photos more or less they way I want them; however, I would like to easily transfer photos (both raw and jpeg) from my iPad Pro to my Mac, bypassing the Photos app, preferably dragging and dropping from an SD card (I have the SD reader) to my Mac, so that I can put the photos in the folders I want them to go to. Is there any way at all to accomplish this? After working in Windows for years, it drives me crazy that the SD card reader is a one-way transfer option - if it could just work like a standard USB, my life would be so much easier (although I get that Apple likes to protect people from themselves - after working in IT for years, I see the reasoning behind it). Posted: 11 Oct 2018 04:35 AM PDT I just purchased a used iPad Pro 10.5 (First iPad since the 3rd gen) and I'm looking for a case. At first I was gonna go for the Apple Leather Smart Cover but it's not what I expected if only it was like the iPhone cases I'd get one. Anyway I'm curious if anyone has any expirence with the Zugu Case. It looks pretty good and has a holder for the pencil which I'm debating on. Either way if you have a recommendation also for a case I'd love to hear it. [link] [comments]
iPad security and activity tracking Posted: 11 Oct 2018 03:53 AM PDT Hi all, Can anyone suggest a way or app that allows you to track activity on an iPad. Its for a business that uses an iPad as their reception desk tool, and they want to be able to track the activity, times etc of what is being done on the iPad for security etc. Many thanks in advance! Do iPads ever go on sale? In any meaningful way? Posted: 10 Oct 2018 11:06 PM PDT I've been wanting to buy an iPad for a while now to replace a terrible Android tablet (Android phones = great, Android tablets = not so much) and have waited for a sale, but it doesn't seem like they ever happen. I've seen Macbooks on sale for like 10% off previously. Do iPads ever go on sale? And if so, where? Even the refurb ones are pretty expensive (on the Australian site). [link] [comments]
Will Apple soon update the Smart Keyboard? Posted: 10 Oct 2018 10:43 PM PDT Hi! With the new iPad Pro 2018 coming up I am more than ready to buy an iPad. I thought I would be going with the Surface Go but the redesign and new processor pretty much decides it for me. The only downside is the keyboard. Where the keyboard that Microsoft produces for the Surface line is awesome the Apple Smart Keyboard is really bad in my opinion. Do you think Apple is going to update this? Or are we stuck with 3rd party products? [link] [comments]
Good iPad for broke college student? Posted: 10 Oct 2018 08:04 PM PDT So I've been using my iPad Mini and it was great on iOS 6.1.3, but I can only use iOS 6 for so long. I updated it (don't scream "BLOBS!!!" at me, it was coolbooted), and decided that it runs horribly and that I need to sell it and buy a new one. Plus iOS 9 is starting to show it's age. I've got a budget of 350$ AUD and really don't want to spend more. I have a few options and the ones I have narrowed it down to are the following: iPad Mini 3 (330$ AUD, last year of support) iPad Air 2 (350$ AUD, probably ended support in 2019) iPad 5 (350$ will probably lose support in 2021) I'm not concerned about software updates much, I know that Mini 3 is on it's last year of support and that the Air 2 is going to get dropped in early 2020, but the A8X is actually quite good and will probably run it's last iOS version quite well. I really only watch videos and use garage band, pages, the like. I'd enjoy being able to game though, and general usability is always just nice to have. The iPad Air 2 is looking good since it has the best display out of all of these iPads, but the extra couple years of support the iPad 5 will receive is just as enticing. I also do value the portability of the iPad Mini 3. Each of these iPad's have a strength and are all around the same price point, so I was just curious what you guys think I should get? Also please don't recommend the iPad 6, I know it's the best option as a budget but in Australia it's 469$ AUD, and simply isn't worth the money. Obviously anything older is usable but I'd really like to have Touch ID on my iPad. EDIT: I realized that in the title saying I am broke when I have 350$ of disposable income to just throw away is a bit of a uh... "poser" move, but come on it's called an exaggeration, if I was truly broke I wouldn't be in college and I wouldn't be posting this as I wouldn't be able to afford internet or a computer. Cellular-enabled iPad 10.5" question Posted: 10 Oct 2018 09:30 PM PDT I inherited it from a deceased relative and it's a different carrier than my own. I'm not sure why you'd want cellular on the iPad if you already have an iPhone, so I'm interested in why people buy this and what the advantages? [link] [comments] |
