This might be a stupid question, but is there any way to keep my home face as default when music plays in my car? I know I can press the wheel to get it back to that but is there a more permanent way?

Purely in terms of things you can do with your watch in watchOS, what’s changed from a Series 1 to Series 4?

    Posted: 05 Oct 2018 11:20 PM PDT

Just upgraded and I'm trying to discover new things to try out. With both on watchOS 5 here's what I have so far...

    • Ability to adjust volume with crown without waking screen.
    • New watch faces have S4-unique layouts
    • Raise to speak Siri

What am I missing? This is ignoring hardware changes like LTE-option, faster chip, obvious design change, waterproofing, etc.

    Series 4 battery marathon

    Posted: 06 Oct 2018 12:11 AM PDT

So I've had my series 4 since launch day and like many thought the battery worse than my series 3 so I tested it. mine is a 44mm alu GPS model I charged it to 100% and wore it as usual until it dropped below 20% using it for carrot updates, reading and replying to imessages, tracking my sleep with autosleep and waking me up with autowake. I average 20000 steps a day in work and I did an indoor hiit workout tracked as "other" for 28 minutes for heart rate plus controlling music / podcasts throughout the day. I put it on charge last night at 16% left giving me a total usage of 40 hours from start to finish never taking it off, I believe my series 3 would've given me roughly 45-48 hours but it's close enough for me and lasting long enough for me that I know it's not the end of the world if I forget to charge one night.
My charging regime is normally 20 minute blasts when I'm getting a shower / dressed twice a day which seems to keep me between 70-100% indicated on the watch my series 3 was indicated between 80-100% sorry not quite as good but good enough for me. Hope this helps people wondering what real world usage is like.

    Standalone LTE Apps

    Posted: 06 Oct 2018 07:52 AM PDT

Is there a list anywhere of stand alone apps that work on LTE without having a phone nearby?

Aside from the built in apps, I know/use:

Radar scope Strava (not completely standalone - still need a phone to upload)

Ok I've finally convinced myself to buy a Watch. What's the fastest way to get it to a particular store in tax-free New Hampshire?

    Posted: 06 Oct 2018 07:49 AM PDT

I decided officially a week or 2 ago on which one I want, and have been waiting for it to appear in stock.

I can get to New Hampshire malls within 30 mins which are tax free, so I'm waiting for it to come in stock there or find a way to 'order it' to that store for pickup.

Currently I don't see a way to do that besides to type in that store's address as shipping address, which sounds sketchy.

A rep had vaguely told me that they estimate 3-4 weeks for the model to come into that store, which would be the same amount of time as the shipping estimate.

Are they really not getting any in for 3-4 weeks or do I keep missing it by a millisecond? I know they get shipments in regularly in general, will I have better luck waiting for that to come in within 1-2 weeks or could it be up to 3-4 weeks?

My wife dropped her S2 face first a couple of days ago. The S2 has AC+ until May 2019. I was wondering if Apple will replace the screen in store or replace the watch with refurbished unit.

Questions for those with AW Series 4 w/LTE

    Posted: 06 Oct 2018 07:26 AM PDT

Hey everyone, I recently exchanged my Series 4 GPS for a Series 4 LTE. One thing I noticed is that the battery life on the LTE version seems to drain a bit quicker than the GPS only version. My question is, do you folks turn of cellular when not in use or do you leave cellular on all the time? I know that when I have my iPhone on me, the watch relies on it and WiFi for connections.

Which exercise/running app is the best and if the stock apple fitness one is the best, can it be synced onto MyFitnessPal?

    Posted: 06 Oct 2018 07:23 AM PDT

So new AW user, my Nike+ should be here in the next 2 weeks and I want to prepare in advance. I use mfp to keep up to date with my nutrition and I normally use Runkeeper when I go for my runs and it automatically syncs the exercise into mfp.

My questions are as follows, 1. which app is the best for exercise tracking
    2. Is Runkeeper on the AW still as effective and useful on the iPhone 3. If the app workout app is the best for basic running info, time/distance/calories etc, does it/can it be synced onto mfp?

Anyone having trouble with Strava autopausing since WatchOS 5?

Strava app on my S3 started to randomly autopause during the workouts since the WatchOS 5. Anyone experiencing anything similar? It is supper annoying.
