Question Regarding Airplay vs Mirroring Posted: 07 Oct 2018 02:23 PM PDT Hello I have the 2018 HD4K Apple TV and have been having difficulty with Airplay. Specifically, if I want to view something on my safari browser etc. I can only mirror not use the Airplay option. My Macbook is on my WiFi, while the AppleTV is plugged directly into my router. Could this be the issue? Thought? [link] [comments]
Posted: 08 Oct 2018 03:07 AM PDT Hi everyone, can you get a timer which you can set which then stops playing the music after that time, like you can on iOS? It's for a night [link] [comments]

How to turn off TV app notifications? Posted: 07 Oct 2018 02:16 PM PDT Does anyone know how to turn off notifications from the TV app on Apple TV? For context I was watching the UFC ppv last night. During the main event a pop up appeared on the upper corner of the screen advising me that some college football game I could care less about was close and to click to switch over. The pop up was fairly big & distracting and stayed on screen for what felt like forever. I was too scared to use the remote to try to dismiss it because I didn't want to accidentally click over to the game. I already disabled notifications from the TV app on my iPhone and iPad but can't seem to find a way to disable on Apple TV. Any tips would be greatly appreciated! [link] [comments]
Posted: 07 Oct 2018 09:24 AM PDT You can ask siri on apple tv where your iPhone is and it'll trigger the ping noise just like when you ask for iPhone location from an Apple Watch. Is there any way to get the apple tv siri to ping other iPhones in my household? Wife loses hers quite a bit. [link] [comments]
Full screen streams not showing? Posted: 07 Oct 2018 11:15 AM PDT Hey everyone Got a 4K Apple TV with my new television in the hopes I don't have to hook up my PC to my tv every time I want to stream a sports game. I'm on Reddit nfl streams and find a stream, go to it, see it play on my iPad/iPhone, and when I mirror to my tv everything shows up and I can see the live stream... except when I click to go full screen, everything goes black on my tv and doesn't play. No sound, nothing. Usually I get a scroll wheel, then that goes away and it's just black. The iPad says it's being mirrored, but also doesn't show anything - just black. Any ideas? Posted: 07 Oct 2018 11:42 PM PDT Just purchased a Sony HTZ9F soundbar. Happy with it, sounds fine, but I recently went on apple's support page and found out the only way to get ATMOS through ARC from a Dolby ATMOS enabled sound bar is to plug it in directly through the soundbar via HDMI, which I did, only to find that the picture has some snow on it. It's not my panel on my TV because I plugged the Apple TV 4K back directly into the TV and the picture was fine. I also have this issue when I Plugged my Sony 4K UHD player into the soundbar. The startup menu would have snow but when the movie started playing everything was okay. I'm thinking it's possibly a HDMI issue because both the one's I use for the Apple TV 4K and the UHD blu-ray player are from Monoprice. I never had any issues with them before, Like I said, when they're plugged into the TV everything is fine. Any input would be greatly appreciated. [link] [comments]
Posted: 07 Oct 2018 10:38 AM PDT I know my HDMI cable works (it was just working on my PS4 Pro) but when I plug it into my telivision (non 4K) I get no picture. The option to change the televisions "source" to HDMI also dissapears, almost like it doesn't recognize the Apple TV. Is it broken, or do I need another HDMI? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
