    LF a genuine rpg experience

    Posted: 30 Aug 2018 07:46 PM PDT

Action or turn based, it doesn't matter.

    I'm looking for:

MOST IMPORTANT: Premium or noninvasive IAP

    Extensive customization

    Lots of loot

    The ability to min/max

    A lively world to explore

    2d/3d/isometric all good.

Class systems. Either one class that can branch into multiple skills like Battleheart legacy or straight up classes (warrior/rogue/wizard)

A good story would be nice but if the combat and character building is good, that's not a big deal.

Titan Quest would hit the spot if it wasn't such a mess with the crashes. I can't progress the story because I have to traverse a cave that I can't get 3 feet in without the boot.

Please help a desperate gamer that lacks a game of PC or console.

    Edit: RPG's I've played:

Titan Quest: freaking loved this game but couldn't progress due to crashes

Crashlands: RPG lite. Fun but got a little repetitive.

Legends of Grimrock: Great game but looking for a little more action, a little less puzzle.

Monster Hunter Unite: Still need a famepad. For now this one is good but a bit frustrating with on screen controls.

9th Dawn 3: beat and loved it. This was a great game.

Battleheart Legacy: love the character building, not so much the instances dungeons.

Dungeon Quest: fun for a while but got repetitive

Soul Knight: great in short bursts.

Soda Dungeon: found an op build and can't resist the auto play. Wish it was a little more complex.

Terraria: has a lot of fun with this one until I beat it.

Cardinal Quest 2: my favorite thing ever. Spend most of time on this game.

Dream Quest: not usually into card games but damn this game is something else. Love it.

I'm sure there are more I've played, I just can't remember. These are the ones I currently have installed.

Baldur's Gate: Great game but hard to play on iPhone.

Which multi-platform games do you feel work much better on iOS than they do on PC/console?

    Posted: 31 Aug 2018 01:04 AM PDT

When I see a Steam game I know pop up on iOS, I'm always very torn on whether I should pick up the iOS version or the Steam verson.

Most of the time I go for the Steam version, because of the overall gaming experience usually being better, but there are some games that I pretty much exclusively play on my phone. Bloons, Hearthstone and oddly enough PUBG Mobile come to mind.

I'm always hesitant to pick up iOS ports, because the controls tend to range from okay to completely unplayable.

I'm curious, what kind of games do you prefer to play on PC/console and what kind of games do you play on iOS? How important is the convenience of having a game on your phone to you? What games have you played that feel better to play on a touch screen mobile device?

    Your fav racing game?

Mines AG Drive! Used to be Real Racing 3 but hate its freemium system, especially as you progress and have to pay tons of cash forw the best cars.

    "Multiplayer" game developers lying

    Posted: 30 Aug 2018 09:39 PM PDT

How is this allowed? there are so many games on the top charts that are "multiplayer" but are really just AI. It's ridiculous

for example "THUNDERDOGS". First sentence in the description: "Thunderdogs is a competitive online battle game..." etc

    It's got 4.7 stars with 2,700 ratings.

They charge you $6.99 if you want to be a VIP premium member... per week.

The game is a great game, it's really fun, but the catch is it's not multiplayer.

How to find out: start a game, play for a few seconds, and lock your phone. As soon as you unlock your phone all the "online multiplayers" are in the exact same position, and the game resumes as if it were paused. This happens without fail every time. Perfect internet connection

How is this allowed when they are clearly false advertising and charging absurd amounts for VIP? They're basically scamming people $6.99 a week straight up for a fake game experience. The entire game is based on it being competitive and multiplayer

Looking for fun educational games for adults, any suggestions?

    Posted: 30 Aug 2018 09:49 PM PDT

Since the educational section is flooded with kid games. Lately I have been playing a lot of Duolingo and OMBY (a word game that takes you line by line through Moby Dick, so when you finish the game you'll have read the whole book, highly recommend), and I'm on the lookout for anything similar. Essentially I'm looking for a fun game that doesn't make you feel like you're wasting time on your phone. Any suggestions?

Help me remember Animal Turn Based MMORPG from 2009-2010(?)

    Posted: 30 Aug 2018 04:09 PM PDT

I used to play this game a long time ago on my first gen iPod Touch and haven't been able to remember the name for the life of me

    Some specifics that I remember

-Turn Based fighting of with animals, I remember my Lazer Shark was OP (the whole design was very simple before AAA studio's dove into Apps)

-The auxillary color of the UI might've been green if I remember correctly

-might've been too inspired by Pokemon with the fighting

What types of ads are fine for the players? part 2 - discuss various options

    Posted: 30 Aug 2018 09:37 PM PDT

    Hello all,

Last week I ask you guys about what types of ads are fine for you as an iOS mobile player.

    r/https://www.reddit.com/r/iosgaming/comments/9an6l9/what_types_of_ads_are_fine_for_the_players/

Thank you all for the great feedback. Based on the feedback, I have come up with following options and would like to have your opinion about it that which option you think is better for our mutual benefit (me as a developer and you as a player).

In my game, I have 10 level packs IAP each for $0.99, one "buy all (and also remove ads)" IAP for $4.99 and then 3 IAPs for hints (10 hints for $0.99, 25 hints for $1.99 and 100 hints for $4.99)

    Option 1:

The game shows banner ad at the bottom of the screen where it does not effect the gameplay. Then there are fullscreen ads (which are closable after 5 sec) that comes after every 5 or 10 puzzles complete. The ads are only removed when you buy "Buy all" IAP. Buying individual packs does not remove ads. My game has currently this option.

    Option 2:

The game shows banner ad at the bottom of the screen where it does not effect the gameplay. Then there are fullscreen ads (which are closable after 5 sec) that comes after every 5 or 10 puzzles complete. The ads are removed when you buy any level pack or "buy all" IAP (however not hints IAP). I am moving to this option right now. This change is in beta testing for the time being.

    Option 3:

The game shows banner ad at the bottom of the screen where it does not effect the gameplay. Then there are fullscreen ads (which are closable after 5 sec) that comes after every 5 or 10 puzzles complete. The ads are removed when you buy any level pack or "buy all" IAP or even any hint IAP. This way I am letting my player enjoy the game who is even buying any IAP including hints.

    Option 4:

The game shows banner ad at the bottom of the screen where it does not effect the gameplay. There are no fullscreen ads except one which user can initiate themselves (i.e. rewarded videos). The banner ads are removed when you buy any level pack or "buy all" IAP. After each level, you are provided an option to watch a rewarded video to get 2x score in return. This score is used for player ranking in daily, weekly and all-time high score leader board. I feel that with this option the user will not try to buy any IAP (in order to remove ads) because the banner ads are placed at a place where they are not hindering the game play.

    Option 5:

The game shows banner ad at the bottom of the screen where it does not effect the gameplay. There are no fullscreen ads except one which user can initiate themselves (i.e. rewarded videos). The banner ads are removed when you buy any level pack or "buy all" IAP. In a separate screen, you are provided an option to watch rewarded videos to earn "watch points" with 1 point for each rewarded video. When the user collects X number of points, he/she can convert those points into hints. E.g. convert 10 watch points to get 1 hint or 15 watch point to get 1 hint. I only feel that this might cannibalize the hint IAP because now user will not buy the hint IAP but instead just watch the rewarded video to earn hints (and here I am not sure about the return on rewarded video monetization i.e. whether watching 100 rewarded videos by a user will earn $1 or not).

Please let me know what do you guys think? Thanks.

Competitive iOS games with no time restricted progression?

    Posted: 30 Aug 2018 06:59 PM PDT

Hey guys, I'm looking for a new phone game. I love any type of games, you name it. Clash Royale, tanks a lot, hearth stone, etc.

But something all of these have in common is that there is some variation of time restrained progression. If I were to make a new Clash Royale account, it wouldn't be possible for me to climb to the top of the rankings until my cards are maxed out, which takes a very long time.

I'm looking for games that don't require leveling up, for instance I theoretically could climb to the top of the iOS Chess leaderboards if I was good enough after enough wins.

The only genre that really supports this idea (besides classic card and board games) are MOBAs. From Match to match its balanced no matter what level your account is (except in the case of runes/masteries like in LoL), Vain Glory does good at this.

I want an online competitive game that the only progression is my skill and knowledge, like if Clash Royale gave everyone every card already maxed out. I'm tired of waiting for chest to open in every game, like in CATS, anything by supercell, and just about every other game. I'm tired of loosing to people who are relatively bad at the game because of the same damn fact: they've played longer.

If we could avoid standard/normal FPS games that'd be good, they're fun but they can't be that competitive at the top level on iOS let's be real.

Also if we could avoid games where collecting better and better things is super important. Like In MOBAs certain champions/heroes/ or whatever are more expensive and what not, but they're not necessarily better. That's good.

    Thank you so much, -DruggieDan
