This is a new idea so please feel free to offer your feedback about this thread or the subreddit in general in the comments. As usual if you have a serious issue with the subreddit please contact the moderators directly. This thread is intended to help members of the /r/iphone community get informed about new apps that are out there. App developers may also use this thread to make users aware that their new app exists. Please sort comments by 'new' to find questions/information that would otherwise be buried. In this thread you can ask any iOS app related question that you may have. Anyone may offer advice on any issue. | I'm genuinely impressed with charge retention Posted: 31 Aug 2018 12:11 AM PDT I have a 1-year old iPhone 7 plus that I put through medium usage. I forgot my charger in my car last night and my phone was at 3% battery. I set an alarm but thought, fuck it this thing isn't gonna make it through alive anyways. So the alarm goes off this morning and I cannot believe it still had 1% charge. This was with the brightness down to low but with Data and WiFi on! Not to mention I'm jailbroken which supposedly eats your battery but clearly not the case. This was over 7 hours. Thoroughly, thoroughly impressed that it's a 2% discharge overnight. | Posted: 30 Aug 2018 06:12 PM PDT I am having an issue with the iOS 12 beta 9 update. Every time I unlock my phone I get a popup that says "A new iOS update is now available. Please update from the iOS 12 beta." I only have the option to "close" the popup. My phone is completely updated and does not tell me there is another update available. Is anyone else having this issue? Does anyone know a way to stop it without rolling back to a backup? Thanks ahead of time for your help. Oh its an iPhone 8 plus by the way. Thanks again! When you go into 'wiggle mode' (what is that actually called?) where you can move/delete apps, I didn't see how to get out of that, since on the old phones you'd press the home button to exit. What I've been doing is swiping up from the bottom to bring up the app switcher, and this turns it off. Today, after 10 months with the phone, I finally noticed the 'Done' button in the top corner. I am using Family Sharing setup with my kids. I'm running the latest version of iOS on all our devices. | Two-Factor Authentication can no longer be toggled off Posted: 31 Aug 2018 07:22 AM PDT I've turned it off dozens of times within apple.com > Manage Your Apple ID. It seems they've removed the 'Turn Off' link that makes you provide 2 of your secret answers to turn 2FA off. It's entirely impossible to do now. Meaning I can't factory reset my iPhone without putting my SIM into another phone to retrieve the 6 digit PIN. Nice job Apple! [link] [comments]  | ||
| [Bug] iPhone X albums downloading? Posted: 31 Aug 2018 06:54 AM PDT I've had the iPhone X for about two weeks, some of my albums have been in a constant state of "downloading" even after an iTunes backup and restore. It's only certain albums which have no photos in common. iCloud Library is off so all my photos should be on my device only, so I'm not sure what to do or how to fix it. As far as I'm aware I have all my photos and they're all accessible even without internet. I'm on the latest update of iOS 11. No idea what to do here. Edit: Signed out of iCloud on my iPhone just to make sure and it's still downloading, though I'm not sure what it could be downloading. Also possibly related but my Photos has about 2 gigs on the phone and my backup size is approximately 1.66 gigs, so it seems like it's not actually backing up all my photos on my device. | Posted: 31 Aug 2018 06:44 AM PDT The replacement gaskets I've bought so far have all been a thin film and not stringy like the original gaskets. The original gaskets almost behave like acoustic sealant. There's also two parts to the original gasket: the black sealant and a sections of white film. [link] [comments]  | ||

I recently changed to Iphone, had Android phone, when I used WhatsApp in the browser android warned me that whats web was connected until I left the browser, it was a static notification. The iphone so far only warned when it is logging, when you connect your pc to whats, the first time. Was the Iphone supposed to let you know that you're logged in to whats or just the first time? I do not say on that screen that shows how many pcs you have connected, I say as static notification saying that you are using whats web [link] [comments]  | ||

Posted: 31 Aug 2018 05:37 AM PDT Just heard the weirdest thing... the App Store on my wife's iPhone 6 Plus (iOS 11.4.1) was playing music while updating her apps! Never heard that before. No other background apps were running and there were syncronised sounds each time an app finished updating. When did this start, and how do we disable it? And it doesn't happen on my same model and iOS iPhone, so it's got me confused. [link] [comments]  | ||
