Mark Gurman suggests that AirPower will cost $150 Posted: 30 Jun 2018 10:13 AM PDT Though not any sort of official report, this tweet seems to imply that he's heard it will cost $150 (probably $149). Honestly, this is less than what I've come to expect—recent speculation had led me to believe it would likely be $199, so while this is expensive for a charger, it is much more reasonable than what it could be. I know that it would definitely add a +1 to my list of reasons to buy an iPhone X. What do you guys think? EDIT: Or at least make it optional for those who dont want it [link] [comments] |
Single Favorite Apple Product? Posted: 30 Jun 2018 12:06 PM PDT Include version. Mine is probably iPod nano 5th generation. So much tech at that time at a reasonable price. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 30 Jun 2018 07:06 PM PDT Hey guys I have an apple interview for retail next week are there any tips you can give me?I'm quite nervous, anything is appreciated! Thanks [link] [comments] |
PSA: Mojave Dark Mode not dark enough? Turn up contrast in Accessibility Preferences Posted: 30 Jun 2018 08:16 PM PDT This effect cannot be captured in an screenshot, so you have to try it out to see. System Preferences -> Accessibility -> Display -> Increase the "Display contrast" slider to the 3rd notch or more. You may or may not also check "Increase contrast" which adds bright outlines around windows and buttons etc. This removes the gray from window backgrounds in Dark Mode and brings them closer to true black. It can feel really pleasant on tired eyes, and you can also try enabling "Use grayscale" for an even more relaxed and surprisingly usable UI for reading/writing. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 30 Jun 2018 06:19 PM PDT Long story short, my iphone 7 randomly decided to get stuck in boot loop today. Took it to the apple store, did some trouble shooting and was told it is done for, out of warranty and I'd have to purchase either a new phone or replacement for $310. I was really trying to hold out for the next iteration of Iphone X to come out this September to upgrade to. I currently have a Series 3 42mm watch and I haven't activated the LTE as I almost always have my phone on me. What are your thoughts on only using my apple watch for calls and texts until September? I work in an office so bringing my watch charger everyday wouldn't be the worst thing ever. Any advice welcome! P.S. Kind of disappointed in Apple since I bought the Iphone in September of 2017 but it was a refurbished replacement which I just found out is only under warranty for 90 days. So the phone only lasted me nine months :( [link] [comments] |

Delete photos from iPhone, not from iCloud Posted: 30 Jun 2018 05:18 AM PDT My gf has an iPhone 6 16gb. Obviously there is not enough storage on her phone for photos etc., so she uses iCloud for storing photos. Now she wants to reset her phone. Can she delete photos from her phone but not from icloud? Pretty sure I got a fake email from "Apple" today.... Posted: 01 Jul 2018 12:01 AM PDT Subject: "Re: [New Statement Report Alert] Reminder: We've sent a subscriptions about your request a recovery password to your email result on June 30, 2018, 10:45 am." Message: "Dear Customer" (first red flag right there, Apple's top seven tips to prevent phishing scams is they'll use non-generic greetings...aka using your name) "We've detected unauthorized sign in attempt from OS X 10.10, Firefox at June 30, 2018 9:19pm." Notice how there is a is a distinct almost 12 hour difference from my supposed request and the failed log in attempt? "We've been locked your account Apple ID." This is so broken, sounds like they're trying to say they've been locked FROM my account, which would be a good thing on my part! "...for your security, please confirm and verify your account before 24 hours or your account will be permanently locked." Well my account has been verified and confirmed for almost 10 years now so.....I can understand verifying account activity but the account as a whole? I just feel like this message is in such broken English to be from Apple themselves. Also, I noticed when I went to copy/paste the text it would let me as if the letters of the message were individual images which may be confirmed with the parts that did paste appearing as such: "C572514u572514s572514t572514o572514m572514e572514r572514" Yup that is how it tried pasting. On top of that, even the email address sounds "phishy": "onetimepassword-deliveryautomatic-securesupportbba8d(at)179ecee-email.98e45db.id.apple(dot)com" I feel like the address would be something amongst the lines of "account-security-noreply(at)support.apple(dot)com" as that is the format Microsoft uses and not this elongated, bloated, filled with random letters/numbers BS. I will go ahead and reset my password (using the official site, not this phony feeling email) just to err on the safe side of things. TL;DR: got a sketchy email with English that sounds amongst non-native-tongue peoples that doesn't sound professional enough to be true from a seemingly fake sounding address; gonna reset through Apples official website. TIL The 1977 Logan’s Run pilot featured a female robot named Siri. Posted: 30 Jun 2018 08:07 PM PDT She even talks similar to Siri: https://youtu.be/NCCrCCYVkH4 I wonder if this is where the name came from? [link] [comments] |
Get rid of "Find & Follow Friends" banner in iTunes on Mac? Posted: 30 Jun 2018 08:46 AM PDT No matter how many times I hit the little X to close the Find & Follow Friends banner in the For You section of iTunes on my Mac it alway comes back. How do you get rid of this stupid thing? [link] [comments] |

[Question] Magic Mouse - what's it really like? Posted: 30 Jun 2018 10:45 PM PDT Considering getting one, they're small enough to fit in my bag without much concern as well they seem to integrate well with the Mac systems. My question I do have is the right-click. I notice on the laptop touchpad it doesn't detect simultaneous left & right clicks (whereas with a regular USB mouse, it does). Don't want to shell out the amount of funds for something so tedious (I have a few programs that on occasion require this functionality.) [link] [comments] |
