    Making a new folder issue

    Posted: 18 Jun 2018 02:31 AM PDT

Ok, not sure if there is a way to do this but here goes...

I work in photography and my workflow requires me to be constantly editing in Lightroom and also creating new folders for my images.

The difficulty i have is that when i right click and make a new folder on my desktop it does not always shift focus/ make the folder the "active object" so when i go to name it i often activate a load of unknown shortcuts in Lightroom. I then need to undo whatever changes just occurred in Lightroom, then find the folder, then do the click, click again, wait, click to activate text changing thing, then rename the folder. As i also use pc for half of my job i am finding it extremely difficult to break this cycle and repeat it at least 5 - 10 times a day!

Is there a way/setting something like "selecting new folder always makes it active" or something like that, much appreciated if anybody has a fix/workaround.

Windows 10 install stuck at "getting ready"

    Posted: 17 Jun 2018 08:03 PM PDT

    Question!

I have upgraded my late 2013 MacBook Pro (A1502) from a 256gb PCIe 2.0 x2 to a 512gb PCIe 2.0 x4 SSD (both genuine Apple drives made by Samsung).

On my old drive, I had done a fresh install of High Sierra and installed Windows 10 (1802 which is the latest .iso downloaded from Microsoft) using Boot Camp assistant without any issues. However on the new drive, the installation gets stuck at "getting ready" screen.

The new drive works perfectly under High Sierra but just would not let me install Windows 10 on it.

I have tried to install an older version of Windows (1511) and it works perfectly but when updating to 1802, it gets stuck during the update.

Anyone have any idea what is going on? Is there a Windows compatibility issue with the faster x4 SSD?

Bluetooth fails to connect on latest High Sierra (10.13.5)

    Posted: 18 Jun 2018 01:34 AM PDT

I'm updated to the latest version of High Sierra, and Bluetooth connectivity is a total no-go. Bluetooth has been historically flakey with previous versions of macOS (Sierra, &c.) but now I can't get wireless devices to connect at all. Here's what I've tried to solve the problem:

    1. Debugging Bluetooth and then rebooting.

    2. Navigating to System Preferences > General > Allow Handoff between this Mac and your iCloud devices and unchecking the option, then rebooting.

So far, nothing works. Does anyone have experience fixing this or have any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

    • I tried single user mode and it tells me the disk is also OK... when i reboot, same thing...

Swap Underlying Apple ID for a MacBook w/o wiping Machine?

    Posted: 17 Jun 2018 03:29 PM PDT

So I have a two macbooks that I've handed over to other people but the updates/installs of macOS are still linked to my Apple ID, is there a way to swap these machines over to their Apple IDs fully so there are no further prompts for my Apple ID?

(Edit: to clarify these were handoffs to family members, so I didn't do a full wipe, so really the question is given that the machine is seeing macOS updates tied to ID#1 is there any way to fix that short of a wipe.)

    USB-connected iPhone/iPad repeatedly connects/disconnects.

    Posted: 17 Jun 2018 05:01 AM PDT

I've been given a 2015 MBP from work running High Sierra, it seems to operate perfectly fine but when I connect either an iPhone or iPad via USB, it just sits there connecting and disconnecting repeatedly. It seems to work fine for other USB devices though such as flash drives.

    Anyone come across this before?

Edit: Also of note, issue occurs with multiple cables that charge the devices fine and work fine on Windows desktop.
