- I've been airplaying movies/television shows from my mac (with beamer, or soda player, or any other media player) to my Apple TV that uses a HomePod as the audio device. This all worked perfectly until a few weeks ago when the output to HomePod stopped working. Does anyone know why?

| How do you personally do photo screensavers? Posted: 17 Jun 2018 08:56 PM PDT In my setup, I've been trying to figure out a better method for this.. AppleTV screensaver set for 4 hours.. I have Lightroom publish specific keyworded images into a folder. I think somewhere around 900 processed photos now. iTunes, which I rarely use, shares the images over home sharing, but only when running. AppleTV notices that the sharing network is FINALLY online, and seems to cache maybe 100(?) of them randomly, using them as a screensaver. iTunes shares from my laptop, but I travel, and I would like to have a local solution for the roommate so that they're not stuck on the same shots for a week or more. I dont see anyway to do this with some better system anymore...Flickr seems to be removed.. And I hate the idea of clogging up my photo library with duplicates just to generate an album in my iCloud library."Shared Album" is unreliable and sometime shows black spaces. Am I missing something better? Can I use an iCloud folder, or any other service? How about a raspberry pi / synology server? [link] [comments]  |

| Geometry Wars not available on Apple TV?? Posted: 17 Jun 2018 10:53 PM PDT Yesterday I went to Best Buy to pick up an Apple TV and was told about their sale with the 4K and Nimbus combo. So, not having played with the Nimbus before, I picked it up and started playing Geometry Wars on their demo TV. The controller was legit, and I would love to get back into Geometry Wars, so I took the deal. Now, back at the crib I'm beginning to lose it because the game simply isn't available anywhere I look. iPhone, iPad or Apple TV. It's like it never existed for iOS except for the few articles from 2015 when it first came out for iOS. What the hell happened to it? Was it pulled from the App Store and Best Buy had a demo copy or something? Is it called something else on the Apple TV app store and I just can't find with a search? [link] [comments]  |
| HEVC from iTunes with Home Sharing Posted: 17 Jun 2018 02:36 PM PDT I've got some HEVC formatted videos I imported into iTunes. They will play on my Apple TV 4K ok, which is great as they take up less room. I had some issues with the audio which I think I've solved. When an HEVC m4v file had both 2 channel and 5.1 channel AAC audio, then the Apple TV only output the 2 channel audio. If I strip out the 2 channel, then the 5.1 channel gets output. This doesn't seem to affect h.264 files - if 2 and 5.1 channel audio is included in those it will play the 5.1 audio. Has anyone else found the same? [link] [comments]  |

My new 4k TV is arriving soon and I haven't found much information about this since Apple introduced the settings to let you turn off the forced HDR. Has the SDR-HDR mapping of the ATV4K improved much since the horror stories of last year? Is anyone enjoying living with it/enjoying SDR content with it, or has everyone turned it off? Thanks. I don't see a Charter Spectrum app in the app store. There is one for the Roku though. Is it not compatible with Apple TV? [link] [comments]  |
