    Welcome to our weekly stickied App thread! This is a new idea so please feel free to offer your feedback about this thread or the subreddit in general in the comments. As usual if you have a serious issue with the subreddit please contact the moderators directly.

    This thread is intended to help members of the /r/iphone community get informed about new apps that are out there. App developers may also use this thread to make users aware that their new app exists.

    Please sort comments by 'new' to find questions/information that would otherwise be buried.

    In this thread you can ask any iOS app related question that you may have. Anyone may offer advice on any issue.

    Two examples of potential questions could be; "How do I learn to code an app?", or "How is app pricing determined?"

    Developers, please include as much information about your app as possible, including size, price, release info, and anything else people request.

    Finally, please stick to reddiquette and keep your comments on topic and substantive. Thanks for participating.

    I have a iPhone 7 and my god this thing is so much faster and smoother. I made a backup of 11.4 just Incase I run into any bugs but so far so good. iOS 12 feels so much better.

    Is it worth buying an iPhone X or 8 right now ?

    Hello,

    I currently own an iPhone 5C and I feel like it's time to change ! I plan on buying either an X or 8 i'm not decided yet. I also heard Apple might sell 3 new iPhones by September, so my question is : Should I wait until September to wait a price reduction or take the new generation ?

    [Help] Apple watch 3, all 3rd party apps crash PLEASE HELP

    brand new watch out of the box, iphone 7 11.3.1, apple watch 3 4.3.1

    all 3rd party apps crash but native apps function properly. i thought maybe ad blocking vpn on phone would be cause of problem but no luck. i have restored the watch, no luck. went to the apple store they could not figure it out, i sent the watch to them but they said they could not replicate the problem. i paired it with an iphone 5s running 11.3.1 and it worked fine, so i am assuming the problem is from my phone but can't figure out.

    i know that if anyone can figure it out it's one of you folks can. PLEASE PLEASE HELP

    An idea regarding the new upcoming augmented reality .USDZ filetype And QR codes

    So I watched the keynote with a lot of you all, and I gotta say, the introduction of .USDZ seems pretty cool. It looks so easy to quickly preview a 3D model! Always cool to see advancements in augmented reality!

    I think the first time I experienced AR was when I got a Nintendo 3DS; it came with a small pack of playing cards that, when you pointed the camera at them, the console would recognise as anchor points, and could superimpose a 3D model on top of it. Needless to say, it was a neat tech demo.

    I'm wondering: in iOS 11, the camera app is now able to scan QR codes. Could it be possible for a QR code to contain a web link (or something) for a .USDZ file, and then superimpose the 3D model onto the QR code itself?

    iPhone 6s acting awful

    I bought a brand new iPhone 6 and it's garbage. My battery will "die" at 15-20% left and when I plug it in it'll turn on and have around 30% still left. Opening multiple snap chats makes my phone hard shutdown sometimes. My battery also seems to die very quickly. Anyone have any advice?

    Is there any way to search iMessage for ALL instances of a word in a conversation?

    This has been driving me insane for months and I've yet to find a solution, so I fear I already know the answer.

    If I search for a word, let's say "beach", it will show me the most recent time the word was used in each chat I have going on. I want to see every instance though. For instance, I wanted to see to see the date that my friend was going to the beach from a text they sent a month ago, instead it pulled up a time they said "beach" a couple days ago.

    I was able to do this on every app I used on my old android phones, but for some reason I can't seem to do it or find a solution on Android.

    Just changed the battery and still dying quick

    I have the 6s and just recently had the battery changed but I noticed it wouldn't even last me the whole day. From when I unplug my phone to 5 hours later my battery is already at 35%.

    Anyone experience this?

    iOS 6 iMessage now broken

    Just a heads up for you downgrading your slow 4s back to speedy iOS 6.1.3. Just like they disabled the iOS 6 FaceTime certificate quite some time after iOS 7 was out, iMessages have also now been disabled. So it's now pointless downgrading via ipsw.me unless of course you want it for Internet and music. Just a heads up as recently seen a few Reddit posts including me of being able to downgrade a 4s back to iOS 6

    All people are getting is awaiting activation. As soon as I update iOS iMessages started working immediately

    On the 8 Plus, usually the feedback feels the way it's supposed to, more like a button, (with the clicking being audible) but sometimes when pressing the home button, it feels more "smooth" and less realistic, with no sound. The "smoother" feedback seems to happen more after I use 3D Touch on other things, like for apps on the home screen.

    I'm wondering if this is a bug, and if anyone else has noticed this (I'd assume it's possible this could affect 7 users too). It's a minor thing most people probably wouldn't think about, but I've noticed a difference after using it for months.

    Sound settings bug? (iPhone X on 11.4)

    I was going through the ringtones to pick a different one and every other ringtone or so the volume would decrease. So I went through the whole list just to see what would happen. When I backed out to the page where the volume slider was I raised the volume with the slider. This caused the slider to vibrate back and forth and then the phone rebooted.

    Anyone wanna give it a try and see if it's a bug or just my stupid phone?

    iOS 12 beta autoDo Not Disturb

    Hi. First time poster here. I am running iOS 12 beta on an iPhone X. I went to dinner with friends last night. Pulled my phone out to look something up. On the screen was a message from iOS saying words to the effect of 'You seem to be having dinner with x and x do you want to switch on do-not-disturb for the duration of this important appointment?'.

    I selected the option and DND was switched on. I didn't have the presence of mind to take a screen shot.

    I was amazed by this as I did not have an appointment in my calendar but have had dinner at this location, with these people, and with a matching calendar appointment before.

    Is Siri/iOS being very clever here? If so I am very impressed and am really looking forward to seeing this functionality progress.

    While this is very exciting, I should mention here that way back in 2001 my Palm Pilot could mute alarms based upon calendar appointments. I think this stuff is pretty routine for Android users too.

    Thinking about switch to iOS

    I have a dual SIM phone, and one number is for my work and the other for my family and friends. I don't really need 2 phone numbers, but I need to have 2 WhatsApp accounts in my phone. I used to be a iOS user, but a long time ago and I don't if there's any way to use 2 WhatsApp accounts at the same time nowadays without jailbreak.

    Question about usb C 29 w bought in new york

    Hey guys.

    Im from the netherlands and during my vacation in New York , i bought 2 Usb c 29 w chargers and 2 usb c lightning cables, because they are 50$ over there and in the netherlands it costs 70€ euros.

    Got 2 chagers for the price of one here. And i asked a employee about the european charging head and she told me that i can swap it for free at any apple store including the netherlands.

    I made her confirm multiple times that i CAN swap it for a european variant / head piece and she gave me 100% promise that they will swap it without an appointment and on the spot.

    Yesterday i was in apple store in the hague and asked 2 employees about it amd they became hesitant about it and told me no such thing excists in the netherlands apple store.

    I told them then that a apple store is a apple store . They are all connected , why u cant swap it.

    If u dont have a adapter give me 2 new chargers and send these 2 back to new york.

    After a long discussion about it i became tired and she told me to make am appointment for the technical service and Maybe MAYBE they can help me out?

    So am i screwed or is there any hope

    iPhone 6 having LTE problems

    iPhone 6, Verizon, something like four years old. The charging port started having problems - initially it was finicky about the connection, and I might have to jiggle it a bit to get it to actually recognize the connection and charge.

    Progressively (and quickly) got worse, so I took it to a local repair shop that has done good work replacing the battery and screen (multiple times) for me reliably and on the spot, and they warranty their parts.

    The charging port is on the same small board as the headphone jack and the internal antenna; when they replaced it, it fixed the charging issue.

    An hour or two after I got home, I noticed I was having issues with reception I've never had before. Sometimes the bars would drop to two or even three, and the LTE would drop to 3g or even 1x, which means no data connection.

    So I took it back, they checked it out, tethered in another port, worked okay IIRC. Reset the connection settings, no good. They replaced the port, assuming the part was at fault, seemed to work, took it home, same issue.

    Took it back a couple days later, replaced the board with a third board, problem persisted. Clearly it isn't the part itself; the problem has persisted through three of the same part. I also discount the possibility that they screwed up installation; they wouldn't have made the same mistake three times.

    I tried backing up my phone, completely wiping it, and restoring. It did no good. OS is the latest version.

    I'm stumped. As it stands now, I'm usually fine outdoors - I have an unlimited data plan and can stream YouTube as I drive around town with almost no problem. When I am somewhere that I used to have good but not perfect reception - like in my basement, where I probably used to get three out of four bars, with no problems with the data connection - I currently am getting 2/4 bars, with 1x instead of LTE. Upstairs indoors it will go in and out of having a data connection, as the reception gods see fit.

    TL,DR: Serious data connectivity issues with iPhone, antenna board isn't at fault.

    EDIT: Another point: the phone has had a tendency to run hot for a year now. I assumed it was the battery getting old, so I got it replaced - did nothing. Same deal with new battery. I really don't want to have to get a new phone.

    Also, when this happens the connection will sometimes briefly drop to zero and say "No Service" for a second or two, then it finds its crappy two bar signal again.

    Again, little trouble outdoors.

    Issue is not always connected to signal strength it seems. Although usually when I fail to get an LTE connection the signal is at 2/4 or 3/4 bars, I have seen it have 4/4 bars and still say 1x.

    iPhone X won’t refresh content or open any webpage after a while until I close the specific app

    Heyo,

    I've been dealing with an issue with my iPhone X for quite a while now.

    It doesn't matter if it's connected to our WiFi or uses data: When I'm on an app, for example Reddit, and try to search for a new subreddit, or refresh my home content, or search in a subreddit, it will stop loading after a while and only work if I close the specific app completely. Same with any webpage on safari etc.

    Anyone experiencing the same issue and got a solution? That'd be extremely helpful, thanks
