Posted: 19 Jun 2018 05:40 PM PDT Hey, so this is basically a process that I like to use whenever I want to start fresh with my jailbreak, maybe my phone is getting sluggish or I want to get a clean slate when it comes to tweaks, primarily I do this to wipe my phone clean without errors or updating my device. Now, you can do this with or without a computer, personally I do it with a computer. Now I don't know if there are any alternate processes to do this with devices on firmwares below ios 11, but if there is, please let me know. This can also be done similarly with SemiRestore 11, but personally I just found it better this way. STEP 1: Open Cydia, and uninstall Substitute. This will remove all of your tweaks. Also, if you have apps like iCleaner or Apps Manager installed, uninstall those too. If you're doing this without a computer: remove your tweaks but install NewTerm2 or Filza. If you do this process with these apps, they will remain on your device even after restore. STEP 2: Download delectra (This is safe, I've tested it myself.) where you can find here. If you're doing this without a computer, downloading it through safari should be fine. STEP 3: Use WinSCP or Filza to SSH into your device and move the downloaded script into /electra (or any other directory, I honestly prefer it to be in /electra considering it will be removed on its own) If you're doing this without a computer, just use filza. STEP 4: Reboot and rejailbreak without tweaks enabled (as KirovAir says, this makes the process more stable.)
STEP 5: Now, using PuTTY, WinSCP, or your preferred SSH client, SSH into your phone as root and run this command: cd /electra (this is basicaly just taking you to the directory that the unjailbreak file is installed, if it's not in electra, cd into the directory you downloaded it at.) sh unjailbreak(.sh) (remove parentheses) For those of you without a computer, in Filza, go to the directory the unjailbreak file is installed, give it root permissions (0777), and execute it. If youre using NewTerm 2, login as root with your username and password (default username is 'root' and default password is 'alpine') and run the command. STEP 6: Press any key to continue the unjailbreak process, your phone should reboot on it's own after the script does its thing. This is the same for those of you without computers as well. STEP 7: Now that your phone is unjailbroken and Cydia is removed, go to Settings > General > Reset > 'Erase All Content And Settings' and let your phone reset. (THIS WILL NOT BREAK CYDIA SINCE IT HAS BEEN UNINSTALLED) STEP 8: Your phone should be completely clean of everything, if you are someone without a computer, the only files remaining should be Filza and/or NewTerm 2. Feel free to sideload FilzaElectracuted, MTerminal Jailed, LiberiOS, or your preferred app of choice with Cydia Impactor to remove the remaining files, or SSH into your device to remove them. STEP 9: ??? STEP 10: Profit! Hopefully this tutorial helped some of you who may have wanted to reset your device, you can feel free to rejailbreak your device as well, or just stay on stock. Put any questions or concerns in the comments below and I'll try my best to help any of you. Thanks for reading! - Ani [link] [comments]

[Question] All we are waiting for is Levin? Posted: 19 Jun 2018 02:02 PM PDT It seems that coolstar and his team have finished their work on Electra, and are now waiting for Levin to make improvements on and release Spark's bypass. Based on Levin's previous tweets, it doesn't seem like he will release his improvements, or his own jailbreak, before Electra is released. Am I misunderstanding something (probably), or is this starting to sound like a game of who can hold out longer? [link] [comments]

[Meta] Outsiders thought on the Jailbreak community Posted: 19 Jun 2018 10:52 AM PDT Hey Guys, I have no intentions of offending anyone in the community, nor do I want an ETA on the next jailbreak. I did however want to share some of my thoughts on the current state of the community. I haven't been following this community for a long time, my only impressions of the community are form here, discord and a couple of devs that I follow on twitter, so it's possible that I'm missing a good part of the picture. The only reason that I ended up frequenting this community was for Carbridge, I have a car that supports CarPlay but Apple Maps is so bad, so bad that one needs alternatives and Carbridge seemed like the perfect tweak. There seems to be a lot of mistrust and negativity in this community, it appears that unlike other tweaking and modding communities the knowledge of jailbreaking is concentrated into a handful of devs, these are people who understand the kernel level details. The next layer is tweak or feature devs, these people tap into private APIs and make available tweaks or jailbroken apps and then finally there are the end consumers, these are by a distance the largest share of the community. The composition is really no different to any other enthusiasts/hobbyist community however the relationship between the members couldn't be any more different, it appears that the inner circle are revered and worshipped ardently by a sizeable chunk of the outer layers, this is in-part because of respect for their art but also in equal part because of fear of abandonment and this I think is extremely unhealthy. The contempt for the 'wen ETA' people is frankly startling as is the shutting down of people who are skeptical or question anything the inner-circle might say; quite alarming. I don't know how the community got to this state, I remember a softer and friendlier community from back in the iPhone 3GS days when jailbreaking was a breeze and the community was thriving but I feel that Apple has been extremely successful in their goal of shutting down Jailbreaking at any meaningful scale. This has been as much because of them implementing features to lock down the platform as the effectively fragmenting and splitting the community. At this point most of you would agree that I've stated the obvious, I have no silver bullet solutions but I think the only way for the community to survive long term is if the inner circle became more open, if community members were mentored. Knowledge only grows when it's shared, not hidden or obfuscated. I am fully cognizant of the fact that most members here do this out of their love for tweaking and passion aren't paid to do so, but my fear is that the existing negativity will drive out people who could be valuable contributors in the future. As for me personally, I'm quite happy that apple have announced support for 3p Navigation apps with CarPlay, that should have what I need. In the meantime I have my blobs saved and if there is indeed a 11.3.1 jailbreak I'd love to try that out, for the adventure and for old times sakes but I'm not holding my breadth about that. Please let me know your thoughts, I'd be interested in knowing the backstory and how the community got to the place that it is today and also if you think I'm totally missing the point, that's fine too. [Question] iphone x gestures on all iphones Posted: 19 Jun 2018 10:06 PM PDT Hi guys, I have just found that we can use X gestures on all phones by putting some files to some directory ( i see it here: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=v_nF8LrPBSg) But after 11.4, in X they made corners rounded in running application cards. And also now we can close it by moving it to up. Can we do same visual changes? Thanks in advance. [link] [comments]

[Tip] If you are on a Beta you’re fine. Heres how you can tell. Posted: 19 Jun 2018 11:24 AM PDT The Betas "expired" some time during mid april. You can test this by setting your day sometime before April 16th I believe and the expiration pop wont show up anymore. you will not be forced to update. But you should still futurerestore to 11.3.1 if you want to have the most stable jailbreak possible. [link] [comments]

[Question] Downgrade iPhone X or stay on 11.4? Posted: 19 Jun 2018 11:30 PM PDT I just bought an iPhone X and sadly it was on 11.4, I know I can go to the beta but I have some questions. Firstly, will developers look at 11.4 as an option in the future? I know that they all said that 11.2+ was a most likely no, but has anyone said anything about 11.4? Will iOS 12 be a better bet? Second, is there anything wrong with the beta? Is it unstable at all? I just need to know what to do, I am okay with waiting for 11.4 but I am not sure if devs are even looking for it as a possibility. Jailbreak isn't vital to me, I just use it for small tweaks, but kinda want to with my new X [link] [comments]

[Question] Why are Electra and LiberiOS both being worked on? Posted: 19 Jun 2018 05:02 AM PDT This may sound like a stupid question but I genuinely don't understand.. We have Electra1131 being worked on, which is a jailbreak including Cydia. We also have LiberiOS being worked on, which is also a jailbreak but without Cydia. Whatever Morpheus's reasons for needing a jailbreak, wouldn't they also be fulfilled by Electra? So why wouldn't he just give his apfs remount to the Electra team? Just from my perspective it seems like everyone would win: The community would get a jailbreak, that's a win CoolStar would get to release a jailbreak and get back to his own life, win for him Morpheus currently is trying to get a jailbreak, so whatever reasons he has, Electra would solve his problems too. He would also get the fame / reputation of helping get the jailbreak out. Have I missed something? I spose my real question is: "if Electra didn't have Cydia, what would be the difference between Electra and LiberiOS from Morpheus's perspective? Does LiberiOS do something that Electra can't do? It seems like Electra has exactly the same effect on the device, just without Cydia, so it doesn't make sense for Morpheus to be working on his own one if he has all it needs to be released" I assume im missing something here lol cos it doesn't make sense to me [link] [comments]
