dark mode and the iWork suite

    Posted: 19 Jun 2018 10:47 PM PDT

On apples' website the Mojave preview shows us a dark mode for keynote. I was wondering is this dark mode is present on pages and numbers as well?

iMessage taking too much time to download (on the Mac) from iCloud.

    Posted: 19 Jun 2018 05:23 PM PDT

I rebooted my girlfriend's Mac to make it a little bit faster (it seems that it has been working like that) like a week ago, but messages are taking too much time to download. My internet speed is decent (up to 50 Mbps) and one day I left it all night without any interruptions, but it hasn't finished downloading. She can still message, though. Do you have any tips I can use?

[Question][Meta] - Why doesn't MacOSBeta exist? and if we use this as it can we get post flairs like [bug] and [feature]?

I'm a huge fan of how iOSBeta is ran and it's a great asset to the community. I would love that but for macOS. Any suggestions?

Should I upgrade to the macOS Mojave Beta?

    Posted: 19 Jun 2018 03:53 PM PDT

    Hello!

I've been thinking over the past few days, and I've heard that the macOS Mojave is quite reliable, fast and far more stable than High Sierra! I currently own a MacBook Pro 13" Retina Late 2013 with 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD. High Sierra is fast, but from what I've heard - Mojave is better than Sierra!

Now, I know it's a beta, but it sounds pretty good. The only thing that is preventing me from updating is the fact that I am a pro user. I am always using Final Cut Pro X, Logic, XCode, Unreal Engine 4, After Effects, Photoshop, Visual Studio Code, Unity, ZBrush, Cinema4D etc. So as you can expect, I need my Mac to run as fast as High Sierra!

Thank you, and I hope to hear from you soon! :)

Can't get display back on external display in clamshell mode.

    Posted: 19 Jun 2018 05:11 PM PDT

On my MacBook Air, I set up my monitor to work with clamshell mode. While testing it, I changed the refresh rate to 75hz but that apparently doesn't work. It turned the screen black. Normally this would reset itself if you wait 15 seconds but it didn't, and I pressed escape a couple of times and it never reset the settings. The display still works if I have the MacBook Air open and use 2 displays. I've already tried resetting the PRAM and the SMC. I also deleted the com.apple.windowserver.plist in Library/Preferences and that did not help. Any thoughts? I've dug around Google a ton and I can't get anywhere without it being the same recommendations over and over.

Terrible Jaggy Font Rendering on External Monitor [ macOS Mojave 10.14 Beta (18A314h) ]

    Posted: 19 Jun 2018 05:05 PM PDT

I'm using a MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2017, Two Thunderbolt 3 ports) .For the external display i'm using a HP 27es Display - 27-inch (1920 x 1080). The text appears jagged . This doesn't change even after toggling "Use LCD font smoothing when available" .

I have been using the monitor and this first appeared after the upgrade.

How can I fix this ?

If it will help, here's a screenshot from the monitor

[Question] What does the three beeps mean when I boot up my MacBook Pro?

    Posted: 19 Jun 2018 04:44 PM PDT

I've not touched my Mac in several years. I plug it in and it just beep beep beep three times in a row. Any ideas what that mean? And the fan is really loud too.

Help! No trackpad feedback after Mojave Beta 2 update!

    Posted: 19 Jun 2018 03:31 PM PDT

Ok I have a baseline 2017 MacBook Pro running the latest Mojave beta. After updating, my trackpad feedback started to become very temperamental (feedback one minute & no feedback the next). It has since stopped working completely. (It works very briefly after a reboot) It still clicks on anything I'm clicking, just no feedback. I'm currently reinstalling the beta and if there's no change, I will attempt reinstalling high sierra. Is anyone else experiencing this issue??

Boot Camp: keyboard and mouse now needed for install?

    Posted: 19 Jun 2018 01:22 PM PDT

I last installed Boot Camp and Win7 on an older MBP (2009 or 2010 model). Going to install on a 2014 MBP.

Apple Support is saying I need a keyboard and mouse for the install (?) (https://support.apple.com/en-ca/ht201468).

Is this true? - I don't recall this requirement last time ...

Safari not automatically logging in problem

    Posted: 19 Jun 2018 12:20 PM PDT

Hey guys, I am having an issue with Safari on MBP 15" 2011 Early (High Sierra 10.13.5) and I hope someone can help me.

So, first what happened, maybe it has some connections to the problem: I keep my laptop 99% of time at home. This morning I started working in the office (first day) and I had to bring my laptop with me. Connected on office network I was working on it (working in Chrome, also had opened Safari, Viber and Pages alongside) and everything was good. Late afternoon I come back home, turn on my laptop and now I have a problem:

Safari is not auto logging into websites. Reddit, Facebook, other forums, Gmail... All login data is saved in Keychain and I can choose accounts from drop down menus and log in but it's annoying that whenever I restart Safari I have to log in again to every single website. Why is this happening?

I noticed this morning that when I called Spotlight that it would not be centered like aways on the screen but it would be more towards the top left corner. I didn't thought much of it since it was working as intended and I could always move it around. But this Safari problem is killing me... Anyone knows how to fix this?

I have U Block Origin installed but even when disabling it problem persists.

I never messed with settings so not sure what could be the problem here...

    iTunes loses Airplay-Connection after pausing

    Posted: 19 Jun 2018 05:59 AM PDT

Hey, I'm using iTunes 12.7.1 on Sierra with a Yamaha R-N301 as an Airplay receiver. Airplay works fine, but sometimes, after pausing the music, the Airplay icon turns orange and the only option to choose are the local computer speakers. After turning Wifi off and on again on my Macbook, I can connect to the Airplay device without problems.

Is there any way to fix this without having to reconnect my Macbook to the Router?

    Hide apps at startup

    Posted: 19 Jun 2018 08:13 AM PDT

In Settings we have option to hide apps on startup. How does it work?

I've checked apps that I don''t want to see on desktop after Mac start. But desktop is cluttered with this apps. I want them to start up with Mac, but in the background. What should I do?

How do I get Safari to STOP loading pages when I go back?

    Posted: 19 Jun 2018 07:55 AM PDT

Main reason I stopped using safari is because when I go back, it re-loads pages.. Reddit for example, re loads and brings me to the top. It wont just GO BACK to where I was last.

    Thanks.
