Finally pulled the trigger and ordered my first Mac! Posted: 18 Jun 2018 04:17 PM PDT Ordered the 2017 $2399 15 inch MacBook Pro (256GB) but added a $100 upgrade to get the Radeon Pro 560 - hopefully it's worth. Decided to drive up to a state without sales tax too and with some friends discounts (2) - I'm paying $2100 in total (which also includes Apple Care) Super excited - any ideas what the first thing I should do with it? Also given that the MacBooks are coming out later in the year, if the rumors are correct and the processors will receive a massive improvement as well as the keyboard, do you think I could sell it and break even from the $2100 I paid? submitted by /u/tanw42 [link] [comments]

Macbook Pro 2015 13 inch Trackpad makes louder clicking noise since 10.13.5 Posted: 18 Jun 2018 06:27 AM PDT I updated my 2015 macbook pro to 10.13.5 and noticed that the trackpad's simulated clicking noise is now significantly louder. And for some reason I can't turn it down or even off. Selecting "silent clicking" in preferences makes no difference. Looking for a used MBP - two quick questions Posted: 18 Jun 2018 08:20 AM PDT I'm looking to buy a used 2015 MBP on eBay. Some listings have replaced the screen due to the anti-reflective coating issue. Are some MBPs not affected? Or should I expect to see the issue eventually? Are there any other "gotchas" I should look out for? I know I won't be able to ask Apple for any help without the original receipt, but I think that will be okay. Ethernet through USB thunderbolt not working Posted: 18 Jun 2018 08:22 AM PDT Hi. Out of nowhere, my thunderbolt ethernet connection stopped working. So I bought a new USB-C ethernet adapter but the internet wont connect. System reports -> Ethernet Cards -> USB LAN is showing as it should, so the mac registers the USB device with Lan Cable. However, System preferences -> Network -> Thunderbolt Bridge is red and is not showing a connection. WiFi is working fine. What should I do ? How can I fix this ? Is the Macbook 12 inch an upgrade? Posted: 18 Jun 2018 07:40 AM PDT My 15 inch MBP recently died due to water damage. I need a new computer but I want to wait for the new MBP's before I buy another MBP. So for now I've been considering a standard MB. I need something at least as good as my MBP. Does anyone know if the fully maxed out 12 inch MacBook is an upgrade to a fully maxed out late 2013 15 inch MBP? The three intensive apps I use are Photoshop, FCP, and Parallels.
