| My MacBook has become unusable.. Posted: 07 Jun 2018 10:20 AM PDT I am so disappointed. I grew up with Apple and never in my life have I used something else than Apple Computers. I was always happy with them. Until now. My MacBook from 2015 has become unusable. The main reason is the keyboard. I just cannot write a sentence anymore because some keys, well, actually ALL of them, just don't work well. I am writing my thesis and I am crying and mad and want to throw the Mac against the wall! I am thinking about ordering another keyboard on Amazon - which is absurd... And another thing is that the USB-C thingy is already broken which makes charging very difficult... So what can I do? I could buy one of the new MacBook Pros. I actually really like the weight and size of my MacBook. But I am disappointed that I have to buy a new computer so soon after I bought this one. This is not okay. What would you guys do? I also tried meditation so I don't get too angry with my Mac, but it doesn't work .. hah! (((Another thing is autocorrect. I like autocorrect because it helps - sometimes. But in Pages (mostly), it is just.. horrible. It just changes a word while I AM STILL WRITING it and changes it to something completely different. | Video Continuity/Handoff Issues Posted: 07 Jun 2018 06:43 PM PDT I can't pinpoint when this started happening as it was some time ago now, but I used to be able to start watching a video on iTunes on my MBP, shut it down, then continue watching where I left off on my iPhone or iPad later on with no problems, or vice versa. For some reason that no longer works, and I have to manually sync my devices with iTunes for them to see where I left off on my MBP. I have tried everything under the sun I can think of, and every solution I can search for, including all the standard resetting handoff settings, bluetooth and wi-fi settings, ensuring all devices are near each other, making sure every relevant setting is on (such as the "sync playback information" option in iTunes), every device is fully up-to-date and modern (2017 MBP, iPhone 8 Plus, 10.5 iPad Pro) and nothing seems to fix it. It's a minor annoyance but the convenience it used to offer was incredible - seamless playback sync across all my devices without a worry in the world. It's annoying having to remember the time I stopped watching on one device and scrubbing to the same point on another device. It's also worth mentioning that I don't have issues syncing across devices for other things, like the new iMessage syncing, game data, Notes etc - it seems strictly limited to video playback. Fill all form until the step where I choose payment method as Nope and fill all the address and no empty space, the Next step button turn to blue from grey, but clicking it will render a red text error saying form is incomplete, where it cannot be. | Used my refurbished iPhone 7+ in saltwater yesterday, now my camera is broken Posted: 07 Jun 2018 08:41 PM PDT As the title says, I told my younger cousin that my iPhone was waterproof and they used it to take photos in the sea... it was working fine yesterday and I rinsed it, however, today the selfie camera stopped working and the phone crashed when I tried to take a photo using the back facing camera. I am on holiday for the next three weeks so can't visit an Apple store. I only got this phone a month ago but it was refurbished therefore I couldn't get insurance. The rest of the phone works fine (I'm using it now) but not the camera. Tried to attach an image but it wouldn't work. Basically it's a green screen with lines across it when I try to take a picture. Does anyone have any idea how to fix? The phone should be waterproof so I'm not sure if it's to do with the saltwater? [link] [comments]  |
| Posted: 07 Jun 2018 08:20 PM PDT I just replaced the hard drive on an iMac. I'm trying to install High Sierra on an iMac emc 2308 from a bootable usb. I'm new to OS installs for Mac. It goes to a cloverfield screen, then tries to install Mac from a usb drive and I just see an Apple logo. It doesn't seem to want to move from this screen. Just tried to get into internet recovery with ethernet connected, no dice. Trying to boot/install from USB has been unsuccessful. Disk Utility can see the installer, but startup disk can't. | Posted: 07 Jun 2018 06:54 PM PDT Have a 2009? MacBook pro unibody with a core 2 duo. Recently started acting funny and randomly not booting. It got worse and now won't boot at all. I made a bootable USB with high Sierra on it to try to do a fresh install. I insert USB, power and option, the flash drive shows up, I click it and I get the circle with the line through it. I removed both sticks of ram, tried each one individually, removed hard drive, nothing changes. Once gave this error. [link] [comments]  |

Now I keep getting a notification to change my password, and I can't get rid of it! I don't want to change my password, cause I know I won't be able to remember it. | Help with contacting Apple Support? Posted: 07 Jun 2018 05:51 PM PDT Hello, I'm making this post because I don't know what to do. I just found out I've been getting charged $7 by an app for the past 3 months even though I unsubscribed. Emailing said app support lead to them telling me I need to contact iTunes/Apple support since that's where I purchased my initial subscription. They attached this link https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT202039 but from here, I don't find information that can help me get in contact with someone who can help me. So, I proceed to end up here, https://support.apple.com/, and click the link at the bottom that says, "Contact Apple support for help". However, that link does nothing for me. It only says, "We'll be back soon" at the top. Doesn't matter if I switch to Firefox or Internet Explorer, it continues to give me the same result. I'm trying to add my debit card to Apple Pay so I can use it in the App Store or in games like Pokémon go or fire emblem heroes. My debit card is through The Missouri Bank, which is not on apple's list of banks. Back when I had an iPhone 3, I could use this bank. Am I just screwed? Now it’s stuck in a loop Posted: 07 Jun 2018 02:51 PM PDT My charger works intermittently (think I need to replace the MagSafe board) and while I was updating to High Sierra, I didn't notice the battery run out. Now when I turn it on I get MacOS utilities with an option to install the new OS (+ boot from time machine, search the internet for help and repair using disk utility). Starts to install fine, screen turns to white with the grey loading bar then goes back to MacOS utilities. How fucked is it? Will booting from a USB work? Any other suggestions? Posted: 07 Jun 2018 02:46 PM PDT I've been using my hard drive to download straight to, as I like to keep alot of my downloads to my hard drive and I have it set up with my Plex. It is creating copies of my hard drive (EX: billyhd and billyhd1 are listed separately but are the same hard drive) and only one of them will work. So I simply turned of iMessage and that worked great for me. Now I have a MacBook and I want to make use of the desktop messages app. So I turned on iMessage on my phone and it works great... when I'm on wifi. As soon as I leave Wifi and start texting, I don't get the responses on my phone. | Posted: 07 Jun 2018 12:01 PM PDT Hey everyone - here's a rundown of the issue I'm having - One day while using my computer and not straining it too hard, it just turned off. Not a common issue for me, ever. Now when I boot up, it chimes, and the progress bar (albeit slower than normal) chugs along until about 2/3rds the way complete, then just turns itself off again. It won't allow me (to my knowledge) to boot into safe mode or any other shortcut I could find online. Possible issues - I have installed RAM into it, but that was months ago. Also, shortly before this happened I had plugged in my friends printer and downloaded a plug in onto my Mac - and then I remember waking up and noticing my computer never put itself to sleep and the screen was on - but no apps or programs were running or anything. I also noticed the casing was quite hotter than normal. Any ideas? I don't know where to turn to next. Thank you! [link] [comments]  |

A few days ago, the screen froze on a Netflix video (audio remained) and nothing worked to fix it so I did a hard reset. Since then, I cannot get my MacBook to log into my account. Sometimes after refreshing I only get the Apple logo and the progress bar and it will stay like that for hours. Other times it will actually make it to my account log in screen but after I input my password the progress bar returns and again stays indefinitely. I've tried all the normal Google search tips and tricks but nothing is working. Help me avoid sending my MacBook to Apple please! [link] [comments]  |
