    Hey jailbreakers!

    We wanted to post an announcement to give everyone a status update on /r/jailbroke, announce new types of flairs available to users, and give information on new subreddit features on Discord!

     

    CHANGELOG:

    • /r/jailbroke has been fixed
    • Added new team flairs for members of prominent development teams
    • Added new (and slightly annoying) post flair with fading background, for new announcements and similar threads
    • Verified Helper flair for users who stand out as exceptional helpers in the community (ETA SON)
    • New "Sub News" role on Discord to receive instant updates with subreddit announcements (ETA SON)
    • New Discord bot to automatically post [Meta] posts to #subreddit (ETA SON)

     

    /r/Jailfixed.

    A lot of you have voiced your concerns regarding whether /r/jailbroke would be fixed. The issues regarding the PRAW configuration been resolved and /r/jailbroke is once again functioning. We realize that it has been broken for quite some time now, and we'd like to apologize for any inconvenience.

    Also, due to the extended down time, the system has garnered a months-long backlog. We have decided that it is in the subreddit's best interest to enable logging of current activity right from the get-go, meaning we unfortunately cannot process the backlog. However, we feel it is more important to get things up and running now, and processing the backlog would cause unneeded delays. Rest assured, the changes made have been solid ones, we don't foresee /r/jailbroke going down again anytime soon.

     

    Team Flairs - personalized flairs for development teams.

    We're going to start offering personalized flairs for members of prominent development teams. These will be called team flairs. Team flairs enable members of a development team to represent their team via their participation in the community, in order to speak on behalf of the team and provide unparalleled support for their products. These flairs are currently limited to only custom text, however we may implement some color schemes and other enhancements in the near future.

     

    Requirements:

    In order for each user on your team to be eligible, members must fulfill the following requirements to receive the flair:

    • must have a substantial role on an prominent development team that is recognized by the community
    • must have existed for a reasonable amount of time
    • participate in the community on a regular basis
    • maintain a generally positive reputation among community members and moderators

     

    If your team is eligible, a member of the team must send us a modmail containing the following:

    • Name of team
    • Members of team to receive flair
    • List of products developed/released (non-exhaustive)
    • Team's repo (if applicable)

     

    Acceptance of team flair applications is solely at the discretion of the moderation team.

     

    ETA SON: Verified Helper - for those who stand out in the community.

    We will soon be rolling out a brand new type flair for only the most helpful users in the community: the Verified Helper flair! The Verified Helper flair is reserved for those who go out of their way time and time again to help others in the comments, providing insightful tips and meaningful solutions to users' problems. These users are verified to be exceptionally helpful to new users and strive to make the community a more helpful place one comment at a time.

    NOTE: You can see the Verified Helper flair next to my name currently. This is only to showcase what the flair looks like and draw attention to this announcement post, and I will be removing the flair from myself after awareness of the flair has gained enough attention. I'm gonna miss it, it's super sweet :(

    Features:

    Note: The flair is CSS-based, so it will only be visible to desktop users. Also, for the same reason the flair does not work on reddit's redesign, due to its current lack of CSS functionality.

     

    Again, this is COMING VERY SOON. A prototype of this has already been implemented into the subreddit itself and is temporarily visible next to my name. However, we are still working on logistics before we start awarding the flair to users. We are working on the backend for now (which will have some sweet automation), so use this time to be extra helpful to users in /new and gather some good karma for yourself! It just might pay off. ;)

     

    ETA SON: Enhanced Discord functionality.

    • We're currently working with the Discord staff to implement a new Sub News role into the server. We will begin posting subreddit announcements to the Discord in the #subreddit channel at the same time we make these sort of announcements, as well as when we make small changes to the subreddit that warrant an announcement. In these updates, all users with the Sub News role will be pinged, so if you want to receive instant updates with each /r/jailbreak announcement, make sure to add the Sub News role on Discord!

    • We're also working on a bot that automatically posts [Meta] threads to Discord, however this is in an early stage of development.
      Note: Both of these projects are currently in the works, and they will be implemented as soon as they are ready, potentially without warning. ;o

    • Finally, we're working on using Discord a lot more on our end, so if you have any questions or need to get our attention, please ping us on the #subreddit channel of the Discord so we can help you out.

     

    Finally, I've added a small, slightly annoying fade-animated post flair to our CSS in order to draw attention to announcement threads. I'll be tweaking this in the future, for example my first task is to figure out how to get it to stop fading while in the thread. I haven't even begun to look into accomplishing this, but if anyone knows how to do this and wants to save me about 15 minutes of trial and error, I'm all ears.

    [Release] iTranslate: translate words easily by selecting them

    This is a tweak I made that lets you translate words easily on pages by selecting them and clicking on 'Translate' in the menu where the copy and paste items for example are.

    [Discussion] if Anybody is facing an issue when connecting jailbroken iphone to car via cable, it is solved.. It happens when you have anemone and batterypercentagex installed.. just follow these steps -

    1. Use iCleaner to disable anemone and batterypercentagex and respiring
    2. After respring just reboot to unjailbroken mode. Keep anemone and batterypercnagex disabled.
    3. Rejailbreak using electra and u will have no issue while connecting your phone to car.
    4. Then if u want you can enable anemone or batterypercentagex from icleaner and respring everything will work as normal.
    5. It will keep working until you accidentally or u wanted to reboot iPhone. Once rebooted you will have to follow these steps again to make it work again

    I'm hoping the new level headed field of this community will support this and yield results for all upcoming developments.

    As a developer, I am loving the amount of flexibility I have found under all the jailbreak tweaks etc.

    However, as I assume many of us are, I am new to iOS dev, and this is not my native field, nor are swift/Obj-C basis, as I tend toward uncompiled C++ source code or Py/R

    I am posting this in the hopes that us developers in other fields can learn and gain from this community. I am looking upon the support of this community to help suggest good starting points.

    To all the devs, I can't thank you enough for the tweaks you've provided. Can you possibly give good resources for any potential individuals interested to learn further?

    [Request] In light of Steam Link being rejected by Apple, could someone with Xcode please compile Moonlight into a .ipa? The last App Store update (3m) is missing a commit (1m) that removes HEVC functionality on iPhone X iOS <11.3 due to it being bugged and causing freezing after a few minutes.

    Hey, I have been having a bit of trouble with my camera app. Sometimes, when I open the app, it redirects to Cydia. It also occasionally happens when I press the "reverse camera" button.

    The phone with this problem is the iPhone 4s. It is running on iOS 9.3.5.

    What is going on r/jailbreak? It's been a while since I've made a release post but I'm glad to be back.

    Anyway. Your not here for sentimentality. What are you here for again? Oh right! Gauze.

    Let's get into it by starting off with the features, now we all love features right? Well this ain't got any but what you see, yet anyway.

    Enough fun, let's get into what Gauze actually is 🤣

    Anyone who has paid for this tweak via the website, please ask for a refund as none of the payments have come through to me. I'll be working on it more today and adding the iPad style side CC then uploading to my Packix repo(I know Packix works).

    Gauze at its core: Gauze is a recreation of the iOS 7/8 tweak GridSwitcher for iOS 10.

    More Information: Gauze replaces the original App Switcher with an entirely new one, instead of the swipe left/right to scroll between apps you'll be presented with a nice grid styled layout.

    Cards: Cards are just placeholders for apps, each card has an icon, a label and a scaled screenshot ready for every single one of your apps, no matter what app you have.

    Removing Cards: Removing cards is as easy as tapping on the red 'X', once removed you'll see the card disappear and the rest will move into their new places.

    Bugs

    Well, I'm not really that shocked to have found bugs but then who isn't? 1. Screenshots or Icons may glitch to other Cards 2. Existing the App Switcher causes the Status Bar to disappear 3. Removing all cards and pressing the home button may cause the last app used to be opened(only when in an app) 4. Closing the App Switcher doesn't happen as naturally, seems to flash rather its normal animation.

    I'll be making sure to fix those bugs, unfortunately some of the methods available in the past aren't available now so I'll have to find a workaround.

    [Discussion] No substitute battery drainer

    So, I don't know if you actually know that no substitute is a really battery drainer, I had it on clash of clans enabled (because of LittleX) for basically two months and I remembered that before that the battery was good but the past to months while playing the battery was from 100% to 30% in about 30 minutes of playing, I decided to find the responsible and it was precisely no substitute, damn I'm playing now for about one hour and just drained 5% Hope it works for someone

    Hey all, I accidentally got nervous and updated on cydia which I did not do for awhile on ios 9.3.3 as my setup was running perfectly. Now all data is broken where over data and internet nothing has connection. Happened exactly after the update to about 15 packages. Have restarted phone, relaunched jailbreak, turned off all tweaks in icleaner. Any other ideas would be appreciated. else I feel i might just have to go to ios11.
