- When we use a custom watch face, we should be able to pick hands instead of a digital face. It’s drives me crazy. Obviously this is because Apple wants you using only their faces and 3rd part faces aren’t an option yet but holy hell it pisses me off.

- So has the Apple Watch community reached a consensus on what's the best third-party equivalent of Apple's Watch bands?

Flashlight appreciation thread Posted: 10 May 2018 04:54 PM PDT I love the flashlight on the watch. It is one of my most regularly used features as I use it every day when I turn the lights off before going to bed. The way it dims as it turns towards you is so well thought out. I never thought this would be something useful when I got my watch as a gift, but now, I don't like doing without it. [link] [comments]
How many of you use a case or screen protector? Posted: 11 May 2018 08:27 AM PDT Does it affect the feeling or look? Do you feel more comfortable protecting your watch? For those who don't: how many of you have scratched or damaged you screen? [link] [comments]

why did you get an apple watch? Posted: 11 May 2018 07:18 AM PDT If you have an iPhone and a MacBook, what reason do you have to get an apple watch? I'm asking curiously because I am interested in getting one. [link] [comments]

Disable “Now Playing” on watch while using CarPlay Posted: 11 May 2018 06:50 AM PDT Does anyone know if there's a way to do the above? "Now Playing" is handy on the watch most times, but I've found that if I'm playing music in the car and connected to CarPlay, on a long journey the Apple Watch battery really runs down. It's frustrating because "Now Playing" music controls aren't needed in the Car. [link] [comments]
Posted: 11 May 2018 06:14 AM PDT Typically my heart rate while sleeping is 45-50, but last night I noticed I received some elevated heart rate notifications. I dug in and looked at the recorded data and it was elevated for 2+ hours. This has never happened before, so it is a bit concerning. Does anyone have any idea why this would happen? I will probably see my doctor to make sure everything is okay. [link] [comments]

NRC Update - App is still whacky Posted: 11 May 2018 06:00 AM PDT I'm always hopeful that the Nike Running Club (watch) updates will fix the bugs in the app. The app has actually been doing alright for me over the last couple of months. It'll bug out every so often and shut down, or will glitch after a long run, where it closes up, then doesn't even show my run, only to show the run 10 minutes later. Today I had a weird one, which may or may not be related to the recent update. Training for a 1/2, had a 15 mile run today. Ran the 15 with the app working fine the full run. Finished the 15 miles, paused the watch. Tried stopping the watch, which resets the app and it would instantly close down. I'd open up the app again and it would immediately go to a countdown to start a new run. Once the run would start, it would show my 15. After a few rounds of this, It finally displayed that the run was complete - only now the run shows 14.7 miles. I complain, but I'll likely continue using it. It's easier than strapping on my Garmin and waiting for it to sync up. I just wish NRC or some running app could get it right! (I've tried most of the running apps available for the watch and didn't have luck with any of them). [link] [comments]
To all Singaporean Apple Watch users: is PayLah pulled from the App Store for the Apple Watch app? Posted: 11 May 2018 05:48 AM PDT I can't seem to find it but there are no articles online nor posts about it, so I'm wondering whether it was my devices or it was actually removed. Notifications don't turn on watch screen anymore? Posted: 11 May 2018 05:32 AM PDT I've had my watch for about a week and the last 12 hours or so, it makes noise and vibrates when I get text but it doesn't wake the screen and show me the notification unless I turn it quickly so it lights up. Any ideas? [link] [comments]
No longer getting ring animation Posted: 11 May 2018 04:00 AM PDT I can't really figure this out. I'm not longer getting notifications and I'm no longer getting the ring animation when I complete my rings. My friend says he gets notified I do it, but I don't see it myself. I've tried restarting the Apple Watch with no success. I've also went into the Watch app, Notifications and Activity area. All options were turned on (such as Goal Completions), but I turned them all off, exited the app and then turned them back on. No success. The only thing I can think of I recently turned Notification Privacy on. Does that have anything to do with it? It shouldn't right? All it does is make you tap to see notifications so I should still be notified. I can't think of anything else. [link] [comments]

Swam with my S3 for the first time and thought there was a problem Posted: 10 May 2018 11:47 PM PDT Cellular kept cutting in and out and it took longer than I'd like to admit that there was no cell signal when my watch went under water. Duh. [link] [comments]

Apple watch series 1 strictly for fitness in 2018? Posted: 10 May 2018 01:02 PM PDT My dad is a little obese and the doctor recently asked him reduce weight anyhow to avoid further problems. He has started gym and a little workout. I'm thinking of getting him an Apple Watch. He will use it to see time, record his daily steps, distance, workout log and continuous heart rate. Is the series 1 any worse than series 3 when it comes to just these things? [link] [comments]
Posted: 10 May 2018 09:31 AM PDT I don't particularly care for the sport band that shipped with my Apple Watch. It doesn't breathe well and I think I'm starting to form a mild rash because of it. I washed it recently with some mild detergent just to be safe but I think the best course of action would be to replace it with a nylon band. I like both of Apple's nylon band options but $50 seems a bit pricey for what they are. Amazon is full of third party bands but I'd like something that falls in between the cheap garbage and Apple's bands. Any recommendations? [link] [comments] |
