Accessing photos from desktop on my MacBook. Posted: 07 May 2018 07:29 PM PDT I have an Apple desktop where I have a large collection of photos from my DLSR camera. I'd like to be able to look at these on my laptop. Is this possible and if so how? [link] [comments]
Will these parts work for a late 2011 MacBook Pro Upgrade? Posted: 07 May 2018 11:24 PM PDT Got a late 2011 MacBook Pro for free and it has 8GB of RAM, 1TB Hard Drive, i5 2.4 GHz Processor. I would like to replace the Hard Drive with a 200GB SSD and I wondering whether these parts will work. Also I would like to remove the DVD drive in this machine because I don't use DVDs and it's actually broken & doesn't read discs. I would like to use the 1TB Hard Drive that is currently in this machine as a secondary storage device inside this machine and I am wondering if that's possible. Anyways thanks and these are the parts I am going with. Are they any good and will they work? What’s a good MacBook for a nursing student? Posted: 07 May 2018 12:19 PM PDT Making the switch from an old Dell laptop. I need something good for basic tasks like typing word document, light web browsing, and YouTube watching. No video/picture editing. Also, I've been hearing and reading about plenty of issues regarding the 2016-2017 model keyboards. Any experience with those? Thank you all in advance! [link] [comments]
Posted: 07 May 2018 03:38 PM PDT I got the 2017 m3 on sale last week for $950 PLUS tax. But today I'm seeing the 2016 m7 is on sale for $799 without tax. Both new. I know the keyboard is different on the 2017, but any noticeable speed or other differences between these 2 models? [link] [comments]

Macbook Pro (2017 model 15") ethernet/hardwire options? Posted: 07 May 2018 01:29 PM PDT Seeing multiple options for adapters but a lot of people are saying most options are flimsy/don't always stay in. Any good adapters or ways to hardwire macbook pro to the internet? Thanks [link] [comments]
Early 2011 MacBook Pro boot issue Posted: 07 May 2018 07:06 AM PDT Hello, I have an early 2011 MacBook Pro 15", 500 GB Hard Drive, 4 GB RAM, 2.0 GHZ i7. When I try to boot, it sits on the apple logo screen with the loading bar, and gets about 5/8 of the way there and then goes white. I've tried VRAM, and I've called Apple and tried every one of their troubleshooting tips. Will not go into recovery mode, and I tried doing internet recovery and it goes through it normally, then goes back to just a white screen. Hoping this is just something wrong with the hard drive, because I've been wanting to do a RAM and SSD upgrade on it for some time now. Does this sound like just a hard drive issue, or maybe something with the motherboard. The tech on the phone with Apple said that I'd have to take it into an Apple Store to have it looked at before they could diagnose anything, but the closest apple store is about an hour and a half away from where I live. Anybody have any information that could be helpful, or troubleshooting ideas I can try when I get home? Thanks in advance! [link] [comments]

Recommendations for older macbook pro model to purchased used? Posted: 07 May 2018 06:51 AM PDT I am interested in purchasing a used Macbook Pro for a relative that's going to college. She currently already has an HP Envy laptop that seems to have kicked the bucket in a little over two years. I currently have a 2015 Macbook Pro that's going strong so I know the lifespan of these products are worth the buck. I know that's also heavily dependent on what it's being used for, what's being stored, and how it's taken care of. She's mainly going to use it for writing papers, powerpoints, watching Netflix, and the most "extensive" thing being using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. Without breaking the bank ($600 USD being my limit) - what would be the best model to purchase? [link] [comments]

my macbook hinge has less agility than yesterday Posted: 07 May 2018 09:17 AM PDT It's really noticeable. It doesn't bother me enough pay an unreasonable amount of money on it but it has me confused. Has anyone else experienced this? [link] [comments]
Can i replace my SSD on my MacBook Air 2015 model? Posted: 07 May 2018 02:12 AM PDT I currently have a 128 gb which is for my development needs becoming a too small. Thinking about going to up to 512 gb. Samsung has m2 product that i could buy with good specs. So, how can i do it? Is any M2 compatible or it has to have something special in particular?
