8 Years Of Android Over, What Do I need To Know? Posted: 26 Mar 2018 04:21 AM PDT So I've used Android phones for ~8 years, and tomorrow I take delivery of my first iPhone. What tips and tricks do I need to know? Any general advice? [link] [comments]
Anyone actually use Apple Pay? Posted: 25 Mar 2018 07:42 PM PDT Me personally, I use Apple Pay constantly. When it first came out, I was only able to use it at Duane Reade/Walgreens. Then little by little, other stores and even small businesses accepted it. I use it pretty much everywhere I can. The reason I ask is because I see people ahead of me in line at a place like Starbucks pay with a credit card and meanwhile they have an iPhone 7. It's just more secure than using your card, especially at one of those shady card machines. Heck, even bank ATMs now let you use Apple Pay instead of your card to access the machine. Posted: 25 Mar 2018 03:26 PM PDT So I went from having th iPhone 6s to owing the iPhone 7 plus. My hand adjusted to the wider size and doesn't seem that big now. However, whenever I see other people holding the iPhone 7 plus it looks huge. But me holding it it look rather normal. Anyone else experienced this? Might be the case they use. I have the Apple leather case. [link] [comments]
Posted: 26 Mar 2018 09:17 AM PDT I've had this problem for a while now but it seems to keep getting worse. If someone replies to my iMessage at the same time that I sent, their message will appear above mine. I've already done a fresh restore and rolled back from the beta program. Anyone have this issue or know how to fix. [link] [comments]
I dropped my iPhone X in the toilet... Posted: 26 Mar 2018 07:45 AM PDT Yeah, I screwed up. I had my phone in my jacket pocket where it usually stays in pretty well, but I guess I was turned at an angle and it fell out into the toilet. To make it even worse, this was after I had done some damage to the toilet -_- So I reached in basically immediately and grabbed it, and dried it off right away with some toilet paper. After that, I washed my hands, and then took some soapy water and scrubbed that around my phone. I'm currently at my university library and don't have any cleaning supplies and will be here for another several hours. Luckily, there was no sh*t on my phone, and it really just had like a minor toilet odor to it. However, to my surprise, the phone is working just fine. The speakers still work like normal, both cameras are fine, and I'm able to navigate my phone per usual. So the big question now is to find out what I should do to clean the phone... I have a case on it, and tempered glass on the front and back of the phone. I already plan on removing all of those and replacing them right when I get home. So if anyone has any recommendations, it would be greatly appreciated. I do have some disinfectant wipes at home so I was thinking that would do the trick. [link] [comments]
I need your opinions on 8+ vs X Posted: 25 Mar 2018 10:57 PM PDT So my wife and I both have the 6S+ and have really loved them. It was nice to go back to iPhone after having the galaxy. We have had the phones for about 2 years and they are still working but we are wanting to upgrade. We are going to buy our next ones outright. We are on Verizon but the plan is suspended since I am currently stationed overseas. We are looking at the 8+ and the X but can't decide yet. I personally like the X with all screen but I'm not sure about the notch at the top. She uses hers for pictures and videos so a good camera is needed for her. I think she is leaning more towards the 8+ because of the home button and lack of the notch at the top. For those of you who have tried both models, is there anything you can tell me about either of them that might help with our decision? Thank you. [link] [comments]
Posted: 26 Mar 2018 06:02 AM PDT I haven't found any recent information on the screenshot previews from searching the internet. Has Apple sneaked in a way to disable the previews? It has only added a step with taking screenshots since I never find myself using it. [link] [comments]
Wifi suddenly dying intermittently Posted: 26 Mar 2018 07:22 AM PDT Apologies if this isn't the place to ask such questions but my iPhone 6's wifi has started to drop in & out intermittently when at home and seems to be doing the same at work too. If I'm using it for half an hour say, I'll probably spend half that time toggling airplane mode & the wifi button trying to will it back to life. At first I blamed our router or provider but then I realised my MacBook wasn't having the same issues & neither was my husband. We're looking at upgrading when we get our tax returns in July but any tips to improve the situation in the meantime? [link] [comments]
Google Play won't Play in Background? Posted: 26 Mar 2018 05:44 AM PDT Good Morning, I am trying to listen to google play music while also doing other things on my iphone. But whenever I open a different app, the music stops playing. Anyone know how to fix this? TIA. [link] [comments]

Posted: 26 Mar 2018 04:59 AM PDT Hey, Currently at a store looking for a stabilizer for the iPhone X. The two options I have are the Dji Osmo Mobile (1) and the Zhiyun Smooth Q. The Dji is almost double the price of the Zhiyun, but Dji is an Apple certified brand. Which one do I get? Edit: Got the Zhiyun. Thanks for the help! Edit2: Returned the Zhiyun because of the plastic build and got the original Osmo Mobile instead. [link] [comments]
Is there a way to watch Facebook videos sped up (ie 1.5x 2x speed, etc)? Posted: 26 Mar 2018 08:31 AM PDT I'm spoiled by being able to do this on my computer and on Youtube. Watching videos on Facebook without being able to speed them up now feels painfully slow. [link] [comments]
Iphone 7+ battery almost empty after plugging into charger before going to bed. Posted: 26 Mar 2018 07:56 AM PDT This has happened twice so far. I put the charge cable into my phone before I go to bed, and by morning, the battery indicator will be almost empty. I can fully charge it by plugging in the charge cable again, but it mystifies me why it drains like this during the nightly charge. Has anyone else experienced this? [link] [comments]
Is iPhone X Actually Waterproof? Posted: 25 Mar 2018 08:30 PM PDT I have an iPhone X. One of the reasons I got it was because it's IP67 rated. However, my phone got wet the other day (rain storm) and started malfunctioning. I took the phone in for repair. Apparently, there's a white marker dye inside the case that goes red when there is water ingress. Mine had gone red. The iPhone X warranty does not cover liquid damage. Has this happened to anyone else? Apple now want to charge me 50% of the RRP for a replacement unit. It would appear that the iPhone X is not actually waterproof at all - more like possibly just splash proof?! [link] [comments]
Posted: 26 Mar 2018 05:50 AM PDT I have the iPhone 5s but i am looking to upgrade. Which one I don't know yet, but my concern is if eBay is a good place to look. I don't want to buy it from the apple store but if that's the only place 100% reliable then I will. What sites have you bought your iPhones from if not from a carrier, any experience with eBay? Is the battery issue where stand-by time is the same as usage time fixed in iOS 11.3? Posted: 26 Mar 2018 09:31 AM PDT This problem occurs once every few weeks for me. It's fixed after a hard reset, but it's a bit annoying. So I was wondering if people who are testing the Beta of iOS 11.3 also have this problem or is it fixed? [link] [comments]
Thinking of upgrading to iPhoneX from S7edge... Posted: 25 Mar 2018 05:53 PM PDT ...but I have some general questions/concerns as this would be my first iPhone. I know this these types of questions are often asked so I appreciate the advice :) 1) My biggest concern is being able to add downloaded tv/movies to my phone. Am I able to drag-drop like I can with my s7? I really can't find a straight answer. I'm worried because for whatever reason iTunes does not work/install correctly on my PC (Windows 10). I've tried it because my gf has an ipad and I've tried to transfer video to it to watch. 2) What are the iOS 11 issues Ive read about and are they really going to be that noticable to someone who has never owned an iPhone before? 3) Are there any differences in coverage between Verizon and ATT? 4) Is it worth it to get an X now or just wait till fall when they release a new version? Thanks. [link] [comments]
Posted: 26 Mar 2018 09:12 AM PDT Is it possible that using a 24w charging brick will give you a poor battery life vs using the original 5W that comes with the phone ? I've been using a Anker 24W brick on my iPhone 7plus and it seems to me that my battery does not keep a good charge. Is there any truth in that? [link] [comments]
Does anyone have their iPhone X dim automatically? I mean immediately automatic. Posted: 25 Mar 2018 12:05 PM PDT This is getting common on my phone and it's getting quite annoying. I would be looking at my phone for a second, and then the next the phone is dimmer. I tried manually raising the brightness and that does not help. Right now my phone is at 50% brightness and if I raise it to 100%, there is no increase in brightness. Please anyone have a solution? [link] [comments]
[QUESTION] Upgraded from iOS 10 to 11... And now it seems like my battery is draining like crazy! Posted: 26 Mar 2018 08:28 AM PDT So I updated my iPhone 7 from iOS 10.3.1 to iOS 11.1.2, and now it seems like my battery is being rapidly depleted. Is this a common issue, and if so, is there a fix? iPhone 6S screen repair - $299. Why? Posted: 26 Mar 2018 08:18 AM PDT I had my 6S screen replaced once before (Sept 2017) via Apple. It was $149 or something like that. It's cracked again. Now when I go through the same process, Apple says $299. I select "Screen is cracked". When I start the process, it says "Repair Type: Product Replacement (5-9 days)". I know there was the battery issue, so they probably want to replace the battery at the same time. So screen $149 + $29 battery = $299 replacement? Someone mentioned on the Apple Support forums that they take the full $299 in case they need to replace it, and refund the rest. Is this a new policy? [link] [comments] |
