Disabling mouse acceleration on boot? Posted: 14 Feb 2018 06:17 PM PST So, I like to use a USB mouse, but it keeps turning my mouse accel on, since I use a script to turn it off, but needs to open it every single time (enabling it on boot doesn't work because it needs a parameter to work). Anyone have other method? [link] [comments] |
Run bash script on application start and quit Posted: 14 Feb 2018 01:34 PM PST Hi. So I use VirtualBox and I have a .vdi file. It's a bit too big for my liking. I had the idea to automatically compress the .vdi file when VirtualBox quits, and automatically decompress the file when VirtualBox starts. How can I get macOS to run a bash script when an application is started and exited? [link] [comments] |
Huge CLU load on Twitch.tv (Safari, Chrome). There is any reason why it's happening randomly? Posted: 14 Feb 2018 01:25 PM PST Title says it's all. Why do I get random CPU usage spikes (100+ %) that force me to close twitch and reopen it again to back to the normal load. It's happening on any resolution and on both browsers on my MBP 13' 2017:/ [link] [comments] |
Moving files into Photos library? Posted: 14 Feb 2018 07:35 PM PST I have a fairly extensive collection of personal photos organized into folders in my Photos folder. I want to import these files into my Photos library, but I don't want to COPY the files to the library and create 30 thousand duplicate files. I also do not want to leave the files in their current location, as they can not be uploaded to iCloud if they are not in the Photos library. Is there any way to MOVE the existing files to the Photos library on import instead of copying them or only leaving them in the current location? [link] [comments] |
[Help] Mac OS Sierra 10.12.6 not recognizing Mad Catz R.A.T. 5. Posted: 14 Feb 2018 01:14 PM PST Mac OS is recognizing the mouse, but somehow not the whole movement. For example when in move the mouse over the dock should usually show the name of the app when the mouse is over it(without clicking on it) bun somehow, for me it doesn't. Or if i right click on the desktop and the menu opens. The option where the mouse isn't on just won't get blue. Please help me, this is so annoying. Also i can't find the Mad Catz drivers because their website is broken. Thanks! [link] [comments] |
Help! iTunes imported my library wrong! (Mac system) (x-post from /r/itunes/) Posted: 14 Feb 2018 09:02 PM PST iTunes 12.7.1.14, Mac system, External hard drive for music storage Before we go on, NO, I do not have a Mac Time Machine backup to revert to. This is my mistake, should have known better. Hoping someone can help with a workaround. I decided to test if iTunes would properly import my library (saved as XML file, with ITL file). The music was improperly imported, and a large amount of files were completely renamed down to simply a song title (ex. 01 Happy Birthday, no other info). Worse yet, the original audio files in the external hard drive were renamed and re-filed in the same way. So I'm left with several hundred songs to manually re-file with artist and album names, years, track numbers etc. I'm not tech/code smart, and the only theory I have is that I perhaps placed the XML and ITL files in the wrong folder, or otherwise did the import wrong somehow. Keeping in mind that I have no system backup to undo this, is there another way? Am I somehow able to try re-importing the library in a proper fashion? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Time Machine could do with being more communicative Posted: 14 Feb 2018 05:49 AM PST Pic: https://imgur.com/a/CwiOD So it has done the backup to a USB3 HDD, and now it is encrypting that data in situ. Well I think it is. The TM icon in the menu bar is no long spinning. It wasn't spinning a week ago when I yanked the hard drive thinking TM had finished (it wasn't showing in Finder as mounted). So it could be completing the encryption from the backup a week ago, before it does this weeks backup, before it goes on to do an encryption of that. I don't know it's not tell me what stage it is at. Nor did it suggest a week ago I should put the drive back in. I'd be asking for miracles if I thought it'd be able to estimate time remaining, I guess. Oh, yes. and the encryption stage is not pausable, or cancelable. Other than by simply removing the drive and closing the generic unmount warning dialog, I guess. This should application should be better than it is, IMO. [link] [comments] |
