    Anyone else feeling good about it? I got mine a few months ago. I love it, and I feel kinda happy now taking the plunge for it.

    Was reading this thread, and wondered if there are people without buyer's remorse who are genuinely happy with it, and are excited for tech like Face ID & gesture based navigation & other possible new tech in the future (any guesses of what they could be?).

    iPhone 6 Plus is fast AF after battery replacement

    I finally got my iPhone 6 Plus battery replaced at the Apple Store a few days ago (the battery took over one month to get in-stock). It's like I have a new phone. It's noticeably much more responsive and I'm getting ~50% performance improvement according to Geekbench4's CPU benchmark.

    Damn you, Apple, for making me think my phone was hopelessly obsolete.

    iPhone X doing all crazy sh*t in my pocket

    So like a normal person, I lock the screen before putting it in my pocket and the phone stays locked for as long as no one calls me. If I receive a call while on silent and miss/ignore it, the phone will keep the screen open in my pocket and start doing crazy sh*t as opening the zoom/magnifier, gets stuck on the pass code screen, etc.

    I only notice it when I feel the phone is overheating in my pocket because of the crazy shit it does. It is like the CPU goes 100% usage for no reason!

    What is even worse is that when it opened the zoom/magnifier, there was no way to close it. I went into settings and turned it off and the entire screen lagged like I the phone was crashing. I had to force reboot it.

    Not only this, sometimes when I am on a call and I want to do something in the settings, the settings app lags and almost never accept any touch imput (no issue accessing anything else).

    I am running the latest iOS (11.2.5). I never jailbroken this phone and I just got it 3 weeks ago (never had these issues before).

    iPhone Battery Replacement

    I want to take advantage of the discounted battery replacement. Does anyone know how long it takes? I tried calling my local store, but got routed to Apple Care and sat on hold forever. I'm just trying to plan my Saturday. I assume I need to schedule an appointment, right?

    I'm curious if anyone has ever had a 'Mailbox is full' message when someone trying to leave them a voice message? If so, how full was your voicemail (# of messages/length/memory size...).

    Not sure if this limit varies by carrier or not, but with Visual Voicemail, I would imagine that iOS would just pull the message off of the carrier's server and store it locally on the iPhone. For example, Verizon would not need to retain voicemails for a give cell customer using an iPhone whose enabled visual voicemail (redundant). So in theory, would the number, size, and length of voicemails be limited only by the amount of storage available on an individual's iPhone?

    Have the iPhone 8+ now and have a few more days left in my 14 days. The iPhone X looks interesting but I wasn't a fan of the notch at first. The more I look at it from reviews it kinda doesn't bother me anymore. Is it really worth the $200 upgrade and should I?

    When i got a new phone, i didn't sync over an app's data, any way to save it?

    I check my iCloud backups, and it says 1 backup is still stored from my old phone from the day i transferred phones. I still have this phone, my mom is using it.

    Just wondering if there is any way that this backup would have stored the app's data, and if so, is there any way to get access to it? Should i go to my old phone and try to install that backup, then sync the app's data through their own transfer process?

    My Hyundai Interferred with my iPhone 8 GPS

    I got an iPhone 8 about a month ago and the GPS just wouldn't wouldnt work properly. It could not hold my location and would constantly glitch. I was on the phone with Apple support for hours that day trying to figure out what was going on but nothing worked.

    I went on to a couple of Apple forums and found a guy who swore his Hyundai Sonata messed with the GPS. It sounded kinda crazy, but I drove the same model as him and decided to test it out. I used other iphone models in the care with the iPhone 8, as well as tried the 8 in other cars.

    To my surprise the Hyundsi Sonata was 100% without a doubt interfering with the phone. I even explained this to Apple but they seemed dismiss it. It seemed many were having this issue though and with other cars brands as well.

    In the end I just switched it for a 7 and I'm perfectly happy. Just curious to know still if people were having this issue and if Apple did anything about it.

    Warning for those getting an iphone 6 battery swap.

    Hey r/iphone,

    I live 300km away from an Apple store, so I don't get a chance to visit often. I was in Melbourne recently and organised via chat sessions and phone calls to have the battery in my iphone 6 replaced under their discount program. The capacity isn't great and I think that the phone is throttling the CPU as a result.

    I dropped the phone in and loitered around the shopping centre for 90 minutes while they performed the swap. Unfortunately, when I picked up my phone I was told that they didn't change the battery. In November, the original battery was replaced with an aftermarket one - because you can't buy genuine batteries. I only gained about 10% extra battery life with the aftermarket battery and the phone is a slug, so that's why I'd like a genuine one.

    Apple advised that due to "safety reasons", they were unable to install a new one. They opened the phone to discover this. I'm not sure how a phone workshop is incapable of dealing with an intact/functional/non-swollen battery that is completely compatible with their device, but apparently it's too dangerous.

    I told them that the original battery was replaced due to poor performance and that I had come specifically to the apple store, wasting 2.5 hours of my trip. I was only there because they've likely throttled my phone. I asked to buy the battery outright and was denied. Instead they offered to sell me a new iphone 6 for ~$450 AUD. I didn't take them up on that offer.

    So, heads up. I wasn't warned via their website, their online chat sessions or a phone call that only original batteries would be swapped. Be aware that they might not help you.

    I've since submitted a complaint to apple and I asked: if my phone is now "black listed" for further repairs – even if the original battery is reinstalled? if my phone would be serviced if I returned it without a battery. And I got no solid answers - they indicated it would be at the discretion of the workshop, but were evasive.

    I'm heading back to Melbourne in 2 months, so I might try again at another apple store.

    iPhone 8 Plus stuck on Respring IOS 11.2

    Hello guys

    I woke up today and saw that my display goes on after it goes off on lock screen. If I pressed on Cancel it Respringed, it was the same with the Notification Center if i pulled it down. So I restarted it and after that my iPhone is stuck on Respring. After an restart i see the passcode for about 2 seconds than its staying on an Infinite Respring. I'm going to update it to IOS 11.2.5 over iTunes hoping to solve the problem.

    Does anyone now this Bug ?
