What are the best multiplayer games for the phone that you can play with friends? Posted: 13 Feb 2018 10:15 AM PST A lot of multiplayer games do not let you versus friends or even have a friends list. What does everyone recommend as some good phone games that people can play with a specific friend? [link] [comments]
Posted: 12 Feb 2018 11:59 PM PST I've just been notified of a price drop down to £1.99 and I'm wondering what people's thoughts are on the game? [link] [comments]
Opinion: Modern Combat Versus is a good F2P, not actually P2W but poses like one Posted: 13 Feb 2018 08:49 AM PST For context: I don't play FPS games, this is the first one I've played seriously. I am not a "free-only" player, I bought diamonds to get heroes. WHAT LOOKS LIKE P2W At least from what I experience, playing an L5 hero against an L10 hero is not impossible, and you barely feel any level gap. The outcomes of head-on match ups are always the same. A 7-9 hero level gap is clearly noticeable though. Get your favorite heroes to L5 and you're golden. If you encounter a L10 hero as an L1 player with sub-L5 heroes, that's probably a Whale who's really bad at the game but has got the money. You may get shat on and that's normal, however remember they're matched with you, an L1 with barely any rank, so they're likely to be bad at the game, and that also means once you get up the ladder you won't see them any more. CRATES AND REWARDS It's pretty shit, the crate contents are worth close to nothing unless they're boosted, even then it's still feels negligible. The "rewards for ad plays" is a bit too distasteful for me, but at least I don't get shoved any ads. Achievements is where it's at - this is the reward system that feels right. However, since hero levels don't affect gameplay a lot unless you have a 7+ gap, you can almost ignore them. I barely pay attention to crates since most of my heroes are L5+. PLAYER MATCHMAKING There seems to be two "ladders":
However, none of these give a good signal to player skill or predicting the outcome of the game, so don't be afraid getting matched against higher ladder players. It becomes a little bit predictable with some Platinum to Master level players, but sometimes it still doesn't matter in my experience if there's just 2 or 1 of them. This leads me to believe there is another ladder, an invisible MMR that is not shown to the player like most MOBAs. When you first play, the matchmaking is bad that games are always one-sided, either you wreck or they wreck - this is regardless of player ladder. The reason is usually because of how dumb your team mates are at getting objectives, and not because you're matched against good players. I would get matched with L5 players as an L1-5 against L20+ players, and we would wreck, and eventually vice versa when I got to around L10. Eventually though, at least after 70 wins (basing this off of my achievements), matches become real buttclenchers, 2 out of 3 matches now end real close (Bounty 95-100, Defend 99-100), that's how you know you've reached high enough MMR to be in good matchmaking. After 70+ wins, my MMR is probably high enough now that I'm consistently getting matched against and with decent players. You will never feel like you have to boost heroes to win at this game. At least I've never felt this way after over 100 games. If you keep getting matched with idiots, just keep playing to raise your MMR, when your MMR is high enough it will start to feel balanced. You'll know when you start getting a lot of close matches, even if you lose, that signifies you're starting to get matched with decent players. I am not sure if there really is an MMR, but it feels like it as visible ladders don't dictate the outcome of the matches. ** HEROES** I have not played any similar FPS, so I have no reference, but the balance feels right given the roles of each character. The match ups are predictable, and you're gonna want to play to the strengths of your character. There are heroes that you won't play though, like Knox. Revolv, and Ronen are also not seeing a lot of playtime. There's clearly a meta, as with any other competitive game. RANKING You can get Platinum in 2-4 days, it's not a hard grind too, and it feels satisfying compared to other ranking systems out there where you grind day and night only to lose tier in 30 minutes. It does get hard in Platinum, as a beginner with some MOBA knowledge I think I could've gotten to Diamond if I had another day. I played sparsely for 7 days before season reset. The prizes are a bit meh, and getting the free skin at Master seems too much effort, we should be able to get it at Diamond at the least. VST doesn't necessarily reflect player skill until they're in Platinum to Master, and even then it's still hit or miss but just less. The place to be though is in Platinum, you will get matched with and against better players. So don't fret, you can wreck that Gold as Wood. Edit: formatting, clarity [link] [comments]
How are you liking Getting Over It on iOS? Posted: 13 Feb 2018 08:15 AM PST I downloaded this game last night. Man it's hard. I am curious if it's more difficult on mobile? Has anyone beat it on their phone? [link] [comments]

Any recommendations for casual, hangman like games? Posted: 13 Feb 2018 05:46 AM PST So it may come as a shock since I don't think ANYONE plays it anymore (besides my SO and I), but Words With Friends 2 is closing at the end of March. With that in mind, I'm looking for simple (preferably free) games to play like hangman or something to that extent with people who aren't necessarily next to you Thanks! [link] [comments]

Posted: 12 Feb 2018 08:36 PM PST Hey guys, I was hoping if you could help me find this old game I played. It was a wave defense game where you could build platforms of random shapes. Each platform had specific purposes like energy production, food production, creation of more workers from food, and defense platforms that you'd man with your workers. The workers were just plain white lines and you started with two. You could expand your base to reach monoliths/artifacts that your workers would research on to gain benefits. I think it was an endless wave game. I specifically remember the name of the game being very hard to pronounce and sounding kinda nordic. [link] [comments]

Looking for competitive pvp games Posted: 12 Feb 2018 11:56 AM PST I've played vainglory for a long time and i also play rocket league and overwatch on ps4. I'm looking for competitive games that are not pay to win and where you can hop in and start playing. I'm also playing shadowverse atm. I'm not looking for games too similar to vainglory or shadowverse such as AOV, mobile legends, hearthstone,... [link] [comments] |
