Weekly Support Question Megathread (Monday, February 05, 2018) Posted: 04 Feb 2018 10:51 PM PST Weekly Support ThreadHello! Welcome to this weeks Weekly Support Thread This thread is to help answer all of your simple questions, and keep /r/AppleWatch's front page clean! Got a simple question? Get a simple answer. It's as simple as that. The thread's been set to sort posts randomly to push all sorts of questions to the top. Before you ask, please make sure you've checked out our wiki's troubleshooting guide, searched it on Google, or used our subreddit search feature (wow, who knew that was a thing)! If you can't find an answer, you want some further insight, or you're just lazy, feel free to post your question here. What can I ask?If you've been asked to post your question here, then go ahead! Otherwise, if your question is one or two sentences long, and is pretty simple (such as asking for recommendations, apps, troubleshooting, app issues, etc), go ahead. If you need a lot more investigation, or you're asking for many opinions, go ahead and post it elsewhere (it may be removed if it's too simple, or it's deemed to be more suitable for here). See all the other threadsPlease remember our rules. Have a nice day! [link] [comments]

Has anyone received a notification of an irregular heartbeat from the Apple Heart Study? Posted: 05 Feb 2018 07:08 AM PST Yesterday I was allowed into the heart study after signing up on Dec 28th. I know a few of you have been in the study for a while now. I was curious if anyone has gotten a notification saying that the watch detected an abnormal rhythm. If so, what was that process like? Did you follow up with your own doctor? It may be too early, but I was curious and I don't think I've seen anyone post about it. [link] [comments]

Shopping list checkoff. The best feature that took me years to realize was there. Posted: 05 Feb 2018 06:43 AM PST My wife an I do shared shopping lists using the reminders app. Had not occurred to me to use the watch to check off items as I went. No more unlocking the phone to check mark an item and look up the next one. [link] [comments]
Apple Watch with Google Services Posted: 05 Feb 2018 06:52 AM PST Just curious, is an Apple Watch with Google Services a limited experience? I am pretty heavily invested in Google services (Gmail Calendar Maps Keep) and I know Apple Watch doesn't have these apps. So, is there a good way to use all these services with the watch? I have heard that Spark might be a good email app to use? The native mail app doesn't get Gmail push so that isn't an option. Native calendar app for my Google calendar will work ok? I assume I am out of luck for Maps and Keep? Another question is, would it be worth ditching Google services to get a better experience. Maybe going with Microsoft so I can use the native mail app? Not sure if something like Onenote works well with any watch apps? Do Microsoft services tend to work better with the default Apple/Watch apps? Thank you. [link] [comments]
Posted: 05 Feb 2018 02:57 AM PST I accidentally started a workout via the UA Record app on my Series 3 Watch. I awoke at 3:30 AM to find my move and exercise rings had closed--in only three and a half hours, while I was asleep! Clearly this is bad programming on UA's part as I certainly wasn't burning 781 calories while snoozing. I've deleted the data for today in the Health app, but the rings remain closed. Any idea how to 'unclose' them? EDIT: it seems to have resolved itself. [link] [comments]
Feature Request: Warm up and Cool Down workouts Posted: 05 Feb 2018 03:46 AM PST My workflow is something like: I start one HIIT open goal workout on the warmup and end it when i go to the locker to take the shower, after the cool down. Today's workout was something like 5 rounds of different stations, and i wanted to know how much time I spent in each, so I added a new workout on the beginning of each round. Wouldn't it be nice to start the workout with a "WarmUp" workout, then add the HIIT for each round and after the last, just add a "CoolDown"? Am I missing something? Do you guys have other workflows? Is a Series 1 that much faster than Series 0? Posted: 04 Feb 2018 06:23 PM PST When using stock apps, is a Series 1 that much faster than a 0? [link] [comments]
Calibrating Apple Watch correctly Posted: 04 Feb 2018 07:50 PM PST Hello all, So I just got my first Apple Watch about three days ago (long story... I went to Apple to bring my phone because it's bent, and I walked out with an Apple Watch. It all happened so fast!) I ended up getting a basic series 1. I have two main questions I can't find a clear answer on! I've found some on apple's webpage, but it's all so vague. Ugh. I'm hoping people here can answer my questions!
Thanks advance for the feedback everyone! I'm excited to own one of these and want to figure it out ASAP! I want to make sure I can calibrate it as accurately as possible, so tips on doing that are SO appreciated. [link] [comments]
Does the Watch make you stick with Apple? Posted: 04 Feb 2018 10:05 AM PST Not looking to debate Apple vs Android/flavours of Android. And I'm having significant angst even posting this because I know how these posts can go but anyway... I like the Android experience on the Note 8. What it allows for productivity for me is great. I find iOS a little stiff, and like a machine for apps more than anything. That said, I really like the Apple Watch - it's a really useful accompaniment and I haven't found anything remotely comparable that works with the Note. From workouts to phone, reminders, little things on the go, comfort and lightness. Any former Android/Samsung users able to break up with that platform and stick with Apple particularly for the complete Watch/iPhone experience? ETA: Husband has iPhone, daughter has iPad, I'm the relatively technically capable adult in our household, we love our Apple TV setups, FaceTime. [link] [comments]
Should i buy an Apple Watch If i like wearing tradițional watches? Posted: 04 Feb 2018 09:17 PM PST Hey, i'm on the fence on buying the new Apple Watch 3 but i am one of those that really like wearing normal watches and i am asking myself If It is worth spending the money on an Apple Watch and don't wear It everyday? Is Fantastical a good watch app? Posted: 04 Feb 2018 12:57 PM PST I was all set to buy it as I would like to be able to add events via my watch but when I did a search on here for it there were a lot of negative posts saying it didn't work well with the watch anymore. These posts were a few months to a year old. Just wondering if the issues have been resolved with recent updates or if it still has issues? [link] [comments]

Posted: 04 Feb 2018 01:40 PM PST Weren't the Nike sport loops only supposed to be exclusive until January? Has there been any word on when they be available separately? I have the midnight fog band but I really want to get my hands on the black/platinum band. [link] [comments]
Battery life on LTE Apple Watch, without using LTE? Posted: 04 Feb 2018 11:28 AM PST I heard the battery on the LTE was better, and I'm thinking of getting the Stainless Steel model with no intention of using LTE. Was wondering how much hours I could roughly be looking at! [link] [comments]
Looking for Apple Watch screen protector Posted: 04 Feb 2018 05:33 PM PST Hi: I have been using Apple Watch screen protector made of soft tpu but most of the get water trapped in wether I take a shower, wash my hands or swim. So I wonder if you could suggest me a really good amazing screen protector that will protect all edges, maintain sensitivity and that won't retain water under it . Thank you [link] [comments]
So, how much “arm motion” would you say the watch picks up? Posted: 04 Feb 2018 09:00 PM PST I.E. clapping, waving, rapid movement, hitting, slamming, brushing your teeth..bumping into something... whatever else you can possibly think of that isn't normal walking or running or an exercise being tracks.. How much of it do you think it picks up and counts as steps or standing goals and stairs? I remember my Fitbit literally picked up everything. New Apple Watch owner! 💁♀️🙋♀️ [link] [comments]
Posted: 04 Feb 2018 11:38 AM PST I'm interested in getting an Apple Watch S3 GPS to use with Strava for running/cycling and am curious about the title. I've heard it is possible to do one or the other (headphones + Strava or chest strap + Strava) but I haven't been able to find if it's possible to do both at once. Thanks. [link] [comments]
